Researched items & Master writ chance

Does having a bunch of items researched increase the chances of obtaining a Master writ when doing a crafting daily quest?

I already have most things researched on my crafter character. Is it worth it to research all the traits on my alts?

8 Traits seems to be enough. It gives a small increase to the Master Writ drop chance.

Knowing complete motifs helps too, again to a small extent.

However, most of my alts know a few or no traits, I am lazy to have my master crafter make trait items even though i tell my self to do that everytime i log in.

Anyway, even my ignorant crafters get Master Writs at a good clip. Everyone who does Top Tier writs harvest gold tempers at the same rate.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

    Thanks for the replies! :)

I'll have my alts research whatever is cheap. Capping them at 8/9 traits.

Motifs are expensive to learn so I'll keep selling those after my main crafter learns them.

Many of the older motifs can be found in guild traders pretty cheap, or there are a lot of them as random drops from the various dlc zone daily reward boxes..

I believe there are diminishing returns on motif knowledge. Like, knowing 10 motifs does not double your master writ odds compared to knowing 5 motifs. And knowing 20 motifs does not double your master writ odds compared to knowing 10 motifs. And so on. Thus, knowing 5 or 10 motifs is not much different from being a grand master crafter who knows 50+ motifs, from a master writ drop chance point of view. Maybe the alt will have a 10% drop chance and the grand master crafter will have an 11% drop chance, or something like that. So if you want to learn lots and lots of motifs for cosmetic reasons, go for it. But it is probably not worthwhile if you are only doing it to increase master writ drops.

Khajiit is, of course, 9 trait on his main, and 8-9 trait on all 18 of his pre-necrom alts. His 2 arcanist khajiit are both currently 8 trait woodworking (9 shield) and 7-8 trait in jewelry, blacksmith and clothier.

All 20 of this one's characters are 7 prof master crafters and know all the basic race motifs as well as the purple books. All also know thieves' guild motif as well as Dwemer, Draugr, New Moon Priest and Greymoor motifs. Most know much if not all of the Anequina, Shield of Senechal and Dragonguard. Of course, this one's main knows nearly all motifs in game, except for a few pages of Ancestral Breton.

"For Blacksmithing, Clothier, and Woodworking, this means motif knowledge and overall completion of trait research. "

I am 9/9 trait research on 18/20 on my main account (working on the other 2). I do stop at 8/9 on my other 28 crafters across 2 more accounts.

Forgot to mention that motif knowledge for the ones with multiple pages only counts if you know all of those pages.
