unable to change guild trader bids

hello, I typed the wrong bid for a location, and now it is not letting me lower the gold amount for the bid. I don't wish to cancel the bid, just change the total gold. If I bid lower than my maximum bid, nothing seems to happen.

ok but why? That doesn't make a whole lot of sense, if someone puts in the wrong number and needs to change it, shouldn't we be able to before the cutoff time?
