[PC/EU] The Seeker's Archive quest bugged

Hi!

After finishing the Necrom zones, I decided to finally go through the few quests in Craglorn I never bothered to do on my main character, including this one.
Went through the quest and everything went fine up until the point where you have to speak with Mora's statue, I'm met with a dialogue and no options appear other than "goodbye". Mora's dialogue is also different (see pic).

Now, a couple pieces of info:

- This seems to only affect that specific character, as I was able to do the quest on another one with no issues (normal dialogue and all options appeared);
- The character that was able to do the quest didn't go through the Craglorn quest line, and also didn't go through the story in Necrom (or even stepped into Apocrypha);
- The bugged character did go through the entire Craglorn quest line prior to attempting this quest and also went through the entire Necrom story;
- Both characters had a companion with them (tried without them as well);
- I was playing solo on both characters;
- I tried all the basic troubleshooting steps in order to unbug this quest (restart the quest, /reloadui, tp in and out of the zone, log out and back in, etc...) to no avail.

I'm quite puzzled by this one, and have absolutely no idea what could be the cause. Has anyone experienced this before?

I'm glad to hear it's not just me at least!
Did you go through the Necrom quest with your character? It's probably not linked, but it's strange that the only quest relating to Hermaeus Mora in the main game becomes bugged after the release of a chapter with him at the forefront, haha.

And here I thought I'd finally have the Craglorn map completed on my main...

Previously, Hermaeus Mora at the Seeker's Archive would greet you with "I am the answer to all questions and the question behind every answer. No need to introduce yourself. Your name is already recorded in my realm of Apocrypha." The dialogue in your screenshot is new for Necrom.

It seems that when they had Wes Johnson re-record Mora's lines, they also added a few new greetings for continuity. However, it seems that this new greeting wasn't properly linked to Mora's Seeker's Archive dialogue options. Alternatively, it's possible that since the normal text prompt is "You know who I am?" the intent was for Mora to skip over that line and go right to "Can you tell me how to defeat the Celestials?" but the second line set a variable required for the third line to appear, meaning no dialogues are available.

Yeah, I was thinking something along those lines was going on. It really felt like the dialogue was added for the Necrom chapter but I wasn't sure! Thanks for confirming it!

Let's hope the devs are aware of that and it will be resolved in an upcoming patch. I know Craglorn is pretty dead, but still, haha.

Yea, i completed the necrom quest line before doing craglorn.
i just want to get this done and this is really bugging me out.
i came back here today after around a month, still the same issue.

@ZOS_Kevin do you guys know about this bugg?
is this something that can be corrected so we can get the zone quest done?

Add me to the 'thought I'd finish the Craglorn quests' list as I am also stuck at this. Hopefully soon. I'll try some non Hermaeus Mora quests if I can find any.

Same issue. Trying to complete quests with Arcanist toon, and can't get this one. I have tried multiple times (latest today), with/without companion, abandoned/restarted the quest, etc., and cannot complete quest.

Same problem, PC-EU. Having completed Necrom as a new Arcanist I've completed Cadwell Silver/Gold 100% complete on all zones, now on Craglorn - stuck on this quest.

I was so hoping "Update 39" - the supposed massive bug fix update - would fix this, but alas no. Still broken. Tried /reloadui, relogging, abandoning and restarting, yet after the "patch" still only Goodbye.

Have logged a support ticket, all I got back was the generic "We greatly appreciate you bringing this potential bug to our attention. This information has been collected and will be passed on to our development team. You will not receive a further response to this ticket."

My 100% zone completeness OCD is going crazy.

Bumping this up since I tried to do The Seeker's Archive quest again and still cannot progress past talking with Hermaeus Mora. The only dialogue choice is Goodbye. PS/NA

Same here... Have tried multiple times (abandon entirely, restart from scratch) and the result is always the same. Only option at end is "Goodbye", which does not complete quest. PC/NA here.

I was trying to get map completion for Craglorn this weekend, and was enjoying it, but this bug keeps me from completing it.

I opened a ticket on this -- and after a few days, was able to get past the first-level (automated) and second-level (totally scripted) customer support. I was told my ticket was being escalated to another team -- so hopefully that will involve actual investigation rather beyond the standard answers (try rebooting, /reloadui, logout/logon again, disable addons, etc. etc. etc.).

I provided screenshots and referred to this thread as well. I doubt Craglorn quests are a priority, but perhaps if it is an easy fix they will get it on the docket.

It doesn't appear to be mentioned anywhere in the PTS notes for Update 40 so far. It's possible they fit in a fix in the final changes before it goes live, but I would not expect it:

No, that is NOT the answer. That is an old article about being "unable to interact" with the statue. That bug, which I also experienced, was fixed in U39.

The issue in this thread is very different. You CAN interact, but the dialog is wrong and does not include any choice that completes the quest.

This really sucks because I had to live with the bug messed up completed quests and zone maps, showing them as incomplete for months and now I can't even complete the Craglorn map because of this quest bug.
