Is there anyway to do this as a group? I was trying with a friend last night and once one of us was in the lair we couldn't use the travel to option. Even if we were in the same phase before entering we couldn't see eachother inside.

It would be a real shame if they have quests like that this that you can do together all the way up to the last part then be like oh nope your back to single player TES

i tried at level 7 and was a bit of a challenge went back at level 9 was told to hit the orbs than surround here because they 'heal' her- if you hit em first they heal you!

Its a single player instance and I am very happy to have a few of these in the game.

You can not do the Mage Guild and Fighters Guild quests in a group. They have nerfed the difficulty considerably though.

There are some single player quest instances, and this is one of them.

There was input during beta suggesting to open these up to groups, but the developers have stuck to their vision of the game in this case.

Sure and I understand that Yankee. I just personally think these should maybe be based around a group. It is being part a "guild" meaning more than one person. either way at least I know why now. Thanks

I guess you could view it as proving yourself to the guild. Not as a group, but as an individual.

So much content that I previously enjoyed has been steamrolled by the swarm. Maybe I was spoiled by PTS, but I've become very grateful for the few solo quests I have.

I am just happy that they reduced her power, when I first tried to do this quest in Beta she was way OP. Same with Mages Guild (GutStripper). I think personally, it's better to leave these one's as single player quests, because you level up a little faster in my experience if there's no one else to kill your monsters :smiling_imp:

It doesn't seem like they nerfed her at all. Up to four orbs have spawned for me, and she always seems to grab two of them before I'm able to. That means she can heal herself 100% each and every time she summons the orbs, which makes it an impossible fight.

If the Mages Guild one is where you fight the dinosaur thing, it was far easier (OHKO with Silver Bolts).

Thank god it's one person only. Doing it in a group would be stupidly easy.

Always, always, always try to have some sort of AOE/multiple target ability trained. If you do, her bubble heals YOU.

My only thing would be that they told you it was a solo quest so you don't keep relogging trying to get in your party's phase...

This is quite hard to do solo at level 8, and im a DragonKnight.. . also teaming up with people the bug hits: I cant see my mate while he's in the dungeon..

This is not a bug, as stated above, this is a solo quest. You should be able to solo her at level 8. Just constantly run around her so her big attack never hits you and destroy the orbs that slowly move towards her. If YOU kill them, they heal you, if they reach her, they heal her.
Good players don't complain, they adjust and improve.

I can vouch that I did take her down during beta, when she was OP at level 8, so people should be able to take her now. I haven't gone back to do that quest yet again, because I can't be bothered, but since I'm already lvl 10 it should be a piece of cake now, haha.

I stupidly sat on this for about 10 minutes fighting and healing etc with a templar dps/healer. the orbs were healing before they reached her so I left and went back in and the fight was over in less then a minute. It does get annoying with the constant healing but just take care of the orbs and you're sweet.

Yep. Just take care of the orbs and you'll be fine. Having a long range AoE is a plus. Good luck

Just try not to be too close to her when she launches that spell that kicks off the orbs. If you are the orbs spawn almost right on top of here and it's hard to get them all. I did this in Beta in AD and as a Nightblade bow user was able to kite her pretty well. The EB version is different so you have to really work at the kiting - but that's just me :)

This was definitely one quest which really proved a problem when I tried it during beta, and again during my early access character, both dragonknights but my new one uses a lot more magic which is proving really beneficial. Took me a while to figure out the orbs would heal me if I got to them first when I first did it lol. Good sense of achievement though when I finally wupped her slithering hide :)

I am completely unable to defeat her as a level 8 templar. Orbs spawn directly on her, and the few that start at a distance either are literally impossible to strike or don't heal me at all (but still manage to heal her when destroyed).

It might just be me, but this fight screwed me over so hard, as a level 10 Sorcerer. I just couldn't see the damn globes, some of them spawned so close to her that the only indication of their existence was that the boss was suddenly at top health.

Sure, this might well be because I'm not a very good player, and I can appreciate that people like a challenge, but personally I would like there to be possible to group up for it. The difficulty wouldn't have to be nerfed, but grouping should be an option. So for those that want a challenge, they can still do it solo. Those that don't want a challenge, just group up. I don't really see why this couldn't be, because not everyone is good and not everyone wants a challenge.

One thing I wonder though is what view everyone plays in - first person or third person? Because I play in first person and I had huge problems spotting those globes in the exceedingly cramped cave. Maybe it would be easier to spot in third person, but I can't really play in third person, it messes with my head. >.<

Either way, the only result of it is that I left the place and will probably return again at level 15 or so and hopefully spank the boss so hard she feels it last week. 'Cause if I get spanked at level 15 by a lvl 8 boss I will rage. Either because the boss sucks or because I do, it makes no difference! :P

Doshia is significantly more difficult in Pact: The layout of the room means at least one of the orbs spawns nearly on top of her. This happens about 50% of the time.

In my third attempt to kill her, I noted 3 times that there was no noticeable delay between the gong sound that signals arrival of the globes -- and her being healed to 100%.

I have pulled her out into the room, only to find she resets, and is also healed to full.

I will try the AOE, but with globes spawning directly on top of her, it will take quite a few attempts to kill her.
  • HaphazardAllure
I agree that people should have the option to fight Doshia in a group if they want to, even though I enjoyed the challenge of the solo fight. I really don't want to see it get nerfed and making it group friendly may prevent that.

That's exactly what I ran into. When you do the quest in AD you have room to kite her so the orbs don't pop up so close. But in the Ebonheart version it's a little more tricky. I can't shoot the orbs fast enough when they're near her and you don't have the freedom to move like you do in AD and as you said if you pull her too far away she resets - which I think is a bug. She should follow. That being said I know it's do-able I've seen it done. It just will take some ... planning :)

If you can get in quick and use plenty of impair attacks in the first form, you can drop her pretty quickly and easily.

The easiest way to beat her is to have an AoE skill slotted.

A DK should always have the Dark Talons skill slotted for her. Other classes, use whatever skill you have as appropriate, or slot a weapon that has an AoE. With Talons, the first cast will catch any orbs on top of her, second cast a few seconds later should catch anything that was out of range on the first.

Granted, I've fought and killed her a ton, more than most will. I killed her post transform in less than 15 seconds yesterday and I was still wearing two pieces of Soul Shriven gear and a level 4 weapon. This isn't my skill talking (I'm better than average at best) - I just know the trick. Until you get the hang of the trick, she's hard. Just tweak your approach and setup a bit, and after a few tries you should have her. Hang in there. :)

You can beat her by single targeting the orbs, you just have to be cleaner with the remaining fight mechanics to succeed. It's more easily done from melee, oddly enough - so that you can catch the orbs spawning next to her more easily. Trying to do that at range is rather hard.

I see many people in zone chat having issues with this quest.

First off, if I recall correctly, the quest is level 10. So, at 7 I would expect her to be more challenging.

Second, I have never even seen these orbs because I chain stun her and she never gets to cast anything other than the summon skeleton at the pull. I use the destruction fire stack knockback->morphed to have the stun.

So the fight really is dependent on your chosen skill set. Do you have a stun or similar? If not, how about a fast way to kill orbs? (soul trap is rather awesome at killing low hp things). Can't see the orbs easily, perhaps someone else can confirm, they likely have health bars and you can set those to always on.

I really struggled with this quest during beta until I realized I need to kill the bubbles that float on the ground, which heal Doshia. It is not an easy fight, but if you take your time you can do it.
