A Strange Steam Valve Controller Problem on ESO only?

Hello, I haven't used a controller before. I'm trying to change from a Razer Tartarus Keyboard and an MMO mouse. I was setting the controller up before the update to the Steam installation and Big Picture. Since then I have found that the left trackpad is totally nonfunctional when I try to use it in ESO, In Steam's calibration screen, it works the same as the right trackpad. In ESO however, everything else works as expected. The right trackpad, the bottom grips, the joystick, and all of the buttons and triggers. I have closed the synapse program for my Tartarus 2, which didn't change anything, and I turned off the Tartarus 2 commands, which didn't help either. The gamepad mode is set to Auto. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! And before you suggest this, I can't buy another controller now, and I want the precision camera.

The Elder Scrolls Online for PC supports XInput controllers, which includes the Xbox 360, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S controllers. If you are not using an XInput controller, it may not be compatible with ESO.

Why isn’t my controller working when playing The Elder Scrolls Online on PC / Mac?

Bill, People have been playing with it on Steam since 2014. There are many configurations out there for ESO on Steam, so that isn't the answer to the problem. You wouldn't have known that, but thanks for trying to answer.
