My guild decided to do Ravenwatch last night on the NA server on AD... This one particular DC player is notorious for exploiting the game yet... no matter how many reports we file to ZOS about this player's exploitive behavior.. he's still in the game doing the same exact thing.

We were at ash working on the inner door when this DC player came out briefly to put down a "frozen pad" underneath the ram, and those who come near the ram got sucked inside the keep without the door being breached. One by one players were being sucked inside the keep and dying. Upon doing research I stumbled across this thread... back in 2019.. https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/464749/blatant-frozen-gate-exploit

This exploit still hasn't been fixed.. yet.

How is that an exploit? It would be an exploit if he was your ally, but logged in to an enemy faction to pull you inside a closed keep to solo nightcap it from the inside. But what you describe sounds like using the mechanics of a skill to their greatest advantage. Not an exploit.

Are you assuming that it's not an exploit? I would like to get confirmation from ZOS themselves if this is deemed an exploit or not. were you instructed by the developers telling you that this was ok? I'm curious to know.

The player was smart and used the skill mechanic, he can't be blamed. If the skill is not supposed to work like that, then the responsibility is on ZOS and they should fix it.

Actually the burden of proof is with you to demonstrate that what you are complaining about is unintended.

Players should not be able to enter keeps without knocking the walls/doors down. That is how Cyrodiil is intended to be played. If someone is using other means to circumvent this, it is considered an exploit. Whether or not an action against the players account will be taken is another issue, though.

There is a history of game bugs / unintended mechanics being used to exploit entering a keep, though. Like when a NB used Teleport Strike just as a player was entering the door, it would pull them through. Some NBs weren't intending to exploit this, but some were. This was fixed after some time. There was a time when Templars could use Focused Charge to fly up to players at an outpost or keep to get inside. The devs actually warned players about this before they could fix it. Even recently, players have been using trees to jump into keeps. These have been fixed after a time, too.

There is a saying... just because you can doesn't mean you should. It means that there are some things that you should not do, even if you are able to do them. You're responsible for the actions you make.

Yes, you're right.. ZOS should fix this bug (If it's indeed an actual bug) so people can't exploit it.

Honestly that's hysterical, and I love it.

Oh, and the duration of the skill isn't very long, nor is the range. That means that this dude pulled this trick REPEATEDLY and y'all didn't learn?

It is unintended, and in fact it has been specifically patched by ZOS in the past. The skill is supposed to obey line of sight. It is not. It is a bug, and it has been actively exploited by a particular group since it broke again, for quite some time.
There must be a clear path between you and the enemy and a place for the enemy to land for the teleport to work. The immobilization will still take effect.

A shut door is not a clear path. This is an exploit.

It is exploid. Atackers cant use ram or they will be teleported inside unescapeable location
