Rare drops, drop locations and drop rates

Hey

*long post incoming, sorry for that*
After putting togheter all paintings you can get to this date in a gallery i built, i decided to do the same for rare drops you can obtain ingame. Means, items that can drop from mobs or out of loot containers you cannot craft or buy from a vendor. Rummaged through a lot of guild traders and have now collected/bought a whole lot of those drops. Most of them are pretty cheap and/or easy to get.
There are some that are harder to get, like the elsweyr furnishing drops or the red spool, but i also managed to drop most of those by myself. Altho there are also items which seem almost impossible to get in my opinion. I am thinking of all these super rare plants which drop from plant nodes on Vvardenfell and the alinor wall mirrors, or even the Morrowind Banner of the 6th house. Been checking the guild traders for weeks and havent seen many of those drops a single time, some havent even been datamined by eso-hub neither...

The following plants should drop from harvesting plant nodes on Vvardenfell according to my addon and a list i found here in the forum:

I noticed that all the plants in the first section can be obtained by buying some of the unfurnished houses so they are pretty easy to get when you got the achievement to buy them. Can confirm that (probably all of them) they can also drop in overland from plant nodes, got a Plants, Swamp Pitcher Cluster myself long time ago. The others only seems to drop in overland tho. Met someone saying he got one of those plants, the Plants, Hanging Pitcher Cluster, while killing mobs in overland but im not certain if thats true, probably anyone has more informations on that?

So, first question:
May i be right that water plants only drop from water plant nodes, mushrooms only drops from mushroom nodes and so on? Can anyone share their experiences about that? (btw, if you got any of those plants, would be insane if i might buy, ill pay good

) Was able to get my hands on the x-ed ones, missing the rest.

Second question is about the alinor wall mirrors:
There are these 3 wall mirrors i found ingame:

Alinor Wall Mirror, Noble
Alinor Wall Mirror, Ornate
Alinor Wall Mirror, Verdant

Ive seen the ornate one for sale recently in the guild store so i can confirm that it must be drop unbound somewhere. No clue about the other 2 since there are no sales/dataminings whatsoever about those.
Does anyone knows anything about the mirrors? Either on how to get those or even where they should drop? Any help would be much appreciated

Last but not least a question to all these items in general and their drop rate:
Why are drop rates of such items being kept that secret? Havent seen anything about droprates at all since i started playing ESO 2.5y ago.
In case of the Vvardenfell plants: Ive looted probably thousands of plant nodes all over Vvardenfell and only got 1 drop out of them so far, without even knowing back then that those items are a thing.
In comparison: Got like 9 rare elsweyr furnishing drops in rougly 13-14 hours of farming and had almost 2h for the red spool so the drop rate on them cant be that bad, but those plants doesnt even seem to be worth farming. Same goes for the Morrowind Banner of the 6th house or the Velothi paintings/tritpychs. Think the drop rate has to be about the same for these plants?

Does anyone knows anything about the drop rates for the plants or even the mirrors and why they are being kept secretly?

I don’t know about the drop rates but so far I’ve managed to find one Velothi triptych in 3+ years of playing. And I farm a lot of chests and safeboxes in Vvardenfell.

lol, I had to show proof that the Velothi triptych even existed, people insisted it was a myth.

but the most rare drop I can really think of is the enchanted elsweyr brazier, its like 30mil on pcna, it only drops from the elsweyr prologue dailies and extremely rare.

Interesting. I got the Khajiit Enchanted Brazier plan but have never found a triptych or a red spool of thread in Vvardenfell.

Morrowind Banner of the 6th House might be even more rare. There aren't any on sale on PC EU, and I've heard about one being sold for 100 mil or something ridiculous like that. Don't know if it's true, but...

I think that’s probably the rarest furnishing in the game.

Yeah there was one sold like a week ago for 150M on PC-EU

I really wish they'd say what the drop rates are, or that the community as a whole could do research on it. I know that WoW fan sites have roughly approximated drop rates due to all of the farming data that is compiled.

Owner of the Morrowind Banner? o.O Where did you get that one from? Found it yourself or bought it? Also do you collect other rare items?

@ElderOfTamriel Bought it from a person who remembered hearing about me hunting for it. Sadly they could not recall what exactly dropped it. And yeah, I collect other rare items when I can. I have old Provisioning ingredients; the Spool, Red Thread; old tiered Soul Gems; a Mercenary Contract; and other stuff like that. PC/NA, would love to get more rare stuff or show what I have already. I especially like getting rare items myself from a grind, like the red thread or even the Scuttlebloom to some extent.

When those Cormount dailies first came out, the drop rate for the purple Khajiit plans were better than they are now, it got nerfed sometime later. I got the skooma bubbler plan from there too.

I think you can only do one daily per day now, you used to be able to do all of them, one right after the other. There are maybe 7-8 of them if I remember correctly.

When those Cormount dailies first came out, the drop rate for the purple Khajiit plans were better than they are now, it got nerfed sometime later. I got the skooma bubbler plan from there too.

I think you can only do one daily per day now, you used to be able to do all of them, one right after the other. There are maybe 7-8 of them if I remember correctly.

you can do more than 1 daily per day but the others need to be shared from other players

No chance to farm them, those Alinor mirrors are only available via Housing Editor.

It's hard to say. Odds are ZOS wouldn't waste time patching something like that out. It's more likely that the drop rate is just incredibly low. I farmed Elsweyr for an obscene amount of time and only ever pulled 1 of the wall mirrors there. As with all things ESO, RNG is a cruel mistress.

Yeah i pulled the wall mirror too, the eslweyr furnishings drop pretty good. I might give it a try and pickpocketing some nobles in Alinor, would be awesome if anyone could confirm so im not wasting my time for nothing.

Some were available for event tickets during a Summerset event but I assume that those were bound.

No wonder the Alinor nobles are so stuffy. I must be hard to be relaxed when constantly carrying mirrors.

What's the typical schedule for these? Given that we had the Elsweyr one only recently, does that mean a Summerset one may come next year?

I don't think there's really any sort of schedule. It seems fairly random - or maybe they look at data as to which zones are "emptiest" much of the time.

It's a head-scratcher for me. While I didn't love the whole daedric war 3 year arc, I do very much enjoy Summerset. I don't know if we've had a Summerset celebration since the one where we got the Villa as a freebie....

Maybe @spartaxoxo or @VaranisArano will remember better than I do - I think both of them keep real "records" (as opposed to me - I just space cadet my way through the game!)

Furniture bought with tickets during the Summerset celebration was bound though, so the source for the ones being sold must be somewhere else.

Oh, I didn't know that. Well, that would be fine for the OP, since he's the one who wants the one she had. The site doesn't have another source for it.

And really there's no way of knowing if it would still be on her store if we do have another Summerset celebration.

Not only do none of the mirrors actually reflect, but there are also Vampiric Mirrors in the game, which is interesting since Vampires can't see their own reflections. You could draw obscene things on a Vampires face and they would never know if nobody told them...
