Been playing since beta. I must have had a crash a couple of times, but I chose 'never' because the next option is way too frequent. I honestly cannot remember the last time the game crashed.
Please stop making requests for game features. ZOS have enough bad ideas as it is!

Was a thing patches and patches ago, it's way less frequent nowadays but I'm almost not play at all to judge how things actually are. Anyways "never" option is too extreme one so once a month would be proper.

On my PS4 Pro it's more than never, but generally less than once per month for most patches (although some have been worse than others).

Rare crash. I get server disconnects more often, but those are rare too. In fact since my ISP cleaned up my 20% Packet Loss, I don't even get disconnects either.

I also run a bunch of old moldy addons too.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Once every few months, and it was probably Win10 game setting, not the game itself. It hasn't happened since I found it and turned it off.

I honestly can't pick any of those answers.

I've definitely had ESO crash in the past, especially on my old Windows computer-- which eventually experienced a hard drive failure in part due to lack of sufficient free space (largely unrelated to ESO, as most of the space was eaten up by DAWs, soft synths, and other virtual instruments that I had installed), although I assume the impending hard drive failure was contributing to ESO crashing-- as well as on my MacBook Air for a time after the Elsweyr chapter was released.

But lately, on both my new Windows computer and on my MacBook Air, I haven't had a crash in so long that I can't remember when the last one was.

I might add that I play with low graphics settings-- maybe not the lowest, but definitely low-- and I don't use add-ons. I've also been keeping my Windows Update on pause, so I can run it when I want rather than having it start downloading and installing a huge update in the middle of my gaming sessions. I'm not suggesting that those things are why I don't experience crashes anymore, but they could be relevant.

I've never had a crash attributable to ESO. I've had crashes due to power issues locally, I've had crashes due to the dog scrabbling around under my desk when I'm elsewhere. That's it.

ESO rarely crashes for me. It has happened, but I'd say it's like a few times a year. BUT after U35, there's a bug involving the loss of gamepad and keyboard controls after zoning. All I can do is go out to Windows and kill the game. I consider that equivalent to a crash because the game is unplayable when the bug occurs and I basically force a crash.

(I reported the bug in the Bugs forum but no response so far. Others are experiencing it too. Fortunately it only happens occasionally, but before U35, it never happened at all.)

I had frequent crashes (lock up - black screen) years ago and eventually traced it back to my GFX card being an overclocked version, once I figured out how to change it to stock version speed, no more crashes (and that was like two cards ago).

The answer is different depending on content. In PvP and end game trials crashes are daily or more. Not to mention skills not firing until you push the button at least 3 times, stuck in combat bug...the list is long and well documented.

If it's overland content or a normal dungeon, almost never. The players never running any of the hardest content will have very few issues with crashing.

If you are having crashes, and no large portion of the playerbase is, assume it is always your computer(can't speak for console). The only thing you can do is try and troubleshoot where the issue is. Which sometimes can be very unclear.

Years ago I was constantly crashing on ESO on a specific summerset boss, this crash was related to my bios drivers not being up to date on my brand new computer. Meaning the bios drivers couldn't account for every possible issue yet. Now I update those once or twice, about a year after purchasing my PC. That way I can be 99% sure any issues with my motherboard/CPU will be flushed out. (Never do this yourself, unless you know what you are doing, as you can brick your computer!)

A few years ago I was also having regular crashes after specific ESO updates. Which after a lot of troubleshooting turned out to be a GeForce issue, as Nvidia doesn't support all AA options. It was only found deep within the Geforce settings that those AA options weren't available. Hence the sometimes working and sometimes not, based on ESO updates. This wasn't an ESO issue.

The game runs extremely well, smooth, and without any issues now.

      Interesting.

I cannot vote any of the options, because I had a phase between U32 and U34 where I had in cyro a crash ~ each hour. Until U32 I had maybe one crash each year and since U34 I had no crash at all.
Against your theory and experience, I have not changed anything on my PC (and I don't allow auto updates) - neither before U32 patch nor U34 patch.
I was not alone with the suddenly problems which started with U32 - simmilar to the problems some user are reporting since U35.

So for me it looked 100% as an ESO issue - which maybe (or pretty sure?) was somehow related to my hardware/software - but it was possible for ZOS to fix it on their side.
As a non-pet sorc since 2016 the U46 Patch Notes sound like: "Those who do not wish to interact with the pet gameplay can now replace this skill line eso as a whole."

I've been actively playing this game for 4 years now and never had any crash issues before U35 came out.

Now I have 10-15 crashes every day. I changed drivers, graphics settings, turned off all addons. But the game still crashes on the desktop

I am 100% sure that this is not a problem on my part, since everything was fine for 4 years

But I don't care anymore, I deleted the game and canceled my subscription. I'm tired of all the bugs in the game, and now the crashes have begun. It's too much for me

Even though it sometimes seems like an ESO issue, it might not be. As with software, you can expect strange things. For example: ESO has an update, which uses a new recently created CPU or GPU function, your drivers/bios might not yet know that function(which describes my summerset crash issue). And with all software what happens if it does not recognize the function, it gives an error or crashes. This is why everyone always tells you to update your drivers, as it is the most common issue.

But sometimes it is really unclear what the issue is. In another game I used to play on a brand new computer with newly released hardware, I also once had major crash issues, which the eventviewer showed as a voltage/current issue. After completely re-building my computer three times, trying two new PSU units and much re-cabling, that also turned out to be a bios issue. For which I had to wait a few months for the manufacturer to add to their new drivers, just to get it fixed. In this case I assumed I had build my computer wrong, as it was brand new.

So unless a major portion of the playerbase is having the same issue, assume it is your computer. And if you ever get a problem resolved, post the solution in a thread about the issue, so other users can easier get their issues resolved, if they ever happen to run into them.

PS: I work(ed) in IT, so I know what I'm doing. Be very careful if you yourself are going to do anything with your computer!

I agree(d) that it has something to do with my (your) computer - but when I change nothing on my side and a problem which came right after an update from ESO, the case is open who is guilty.
As I said - a lot of ppl had the same problems suddenly. Maybe we all had the same issue with our computers.(lets say the same bios not supporting the new function)
There were ppl who did the same as you did. Change hardware/software, reinstall a few times, updated all they could get and all without any success. I did nothing.

But - when the problem disappears after another ESO Update - then the case was clear for me.
They were able to fix the code to work with these group of PCs again.
So in simple speech: They were able to implement an "IF xyz is not supported, then...." or whatever.

So - now we can discuss who is guilty - my PC or ESO code - but this is maybe more a philosophical question :)

PS: I work(ed) in IT, so I know what I'm doing, too. :)

Poll is a bit biased sorry.
Most of my crashes are related to my pc being old and trying to do too much, however, ESO itself I think I've had two crashes in the last 6 months - so I would hate to pick 1-2 and create biased results.

Maybe try to consider the fact people crash 0-1 times per month

A few years ago I had a couple of crashes one after the other, followed by the complete failure of the graphics card so I can't blame that on the game. Nothing else of note, been playing continuously on PC since launch with two 12 years old desktops (with updated graphics cards although both sets of drivers are about 3 years old as I don't update drivers that run everything faultlessly without very good cause), although only one is used for ESO at a time. No PvP, dungeons, or trials, and no addons.

To me this sounds like my AA issue. I had AA on, and didn't know it wasn't supported by Nvidia. Some ESO updates I had 0 issues, and others I kept crashing, only for it to be gone again the next update.
But if you know for sure everything else is fine: No background programs starting with windows, no strange processes running in the background, always made clean installs of the latest drivers, no programs interferring with eachother, no corrupted hardware, no ssd fileplacement issue, no wrong settings(ESO and otherwise), etc. Than I'd look at the audio drivers, as those can quite often cause issues. Make sure there is only one audio driver/sound output installed, go to the website of your motherboard manufacturer and download the latest audio drivers. Than remove the old audio driver through software, reboot, and reinstall the new one. The game could even work without audiodrivers, as it would than use the default windows audiodriver. See if that works.

Edit: The IT thing wasn't meant as a brag, but as a warning for other users to not mess with their computers themselves. As I don't want to be the cause of someone else bricking their computer.

I voted 1-2 times a month, but I think it is less than that.

It really depends on what I am doing in the game. If I do dungeons or dragon fights with a lot of flashing light effects, then my old guy (PC) cannot cope with them and the game crashes occasionally.

Sometimes this happens with dragon fights, and I remember that Depths of Malatar e.g. was a nightmare. :D
Also sometimes in Cyrodiil, when I get involved in heavy fighting while repairing the walls of a keep.

But I think I never had a crash while questing or similar inconspicuous activities. I can go months without a single crash and then have 2-3 in one week.
