Clear Rules on Tea Bagging

@ZOS_Kevin
What are the rules regarding tea bagging?

I think the last update about it was:
"Teabagging or spamming emotes is fine, though if someone asks you to please stop, you should stop."

Also does the Teabaggee have to report this or can anyone report it?
If me and my friends are fine with teabagging each other can someone else take a screenshot of it and report us?

I've never tea-bagged anyone (although I had to restrain myself not to t-bag Voriak Solkyn after clearing vMA for the first time) but I've been on the receiving end plenty by enemies in Cyro or jokingly by guildmates, and I just ignore it. I don't think it's a report-able offense, unless someone can demonstrate that they specifically asked the t-bagger to stop and they kept doing it-- in that case according to what Gina has said, there's grounds for making a report. But within the context you described, it should be fine.

There’s no clear answer because it lives in a grey area of intent and impact. It can be a gesture of good humor between friends and guildies, it can be a sign of respect from an enemy, or it can be done as an act of disrespect.

Regardless of why its done, the person being bagged might think its funny, or ignore it, or be offended/bothered by it. Zeni’s official stance is that if you are notified that it bothers someone and you keep doing it, it qualifies as harassment and you can be penalized for it, which may include being banned.

You raise a good question about 3rd party reporting. Let’s say I died doing something dumb and a friend bags me for it. An uninvolved bystander is offended and reports it, can my friend get in trouble? Possibly, since zeni’s response to things is wildly inconsistent, but probably not. To quality as harassment or griefing, my friend would have to know that the person both found it offensive and was watching.

Best time to tea bag is when you help zerg down one solo guy and you are in the back of the zerg and did 0 damage. It’s a sign of dominance and really sets the pace of the entire campaign. When you stand up from the tea bag make sure to spam mutagen

I have seen with my own eyes a certain streamer report players repeatedly for tea bagging. It's quite clear by his talking during the fights that he was not in the slightest way offended by the sexual reference, but rather that he was a poor sport whose ego was damaged by losing a fight, and that the added gloating of a tea bagging sent him over the edge. Filing a report was a way for him 'get back' at that person by abusing the report feature.

I'd guess that most reports about tea bagging are the same.

Ironically all this rule does is allow some of the most insecure and hateful people I've encountered in PvP have a way to weaponize the report system in a way to try to take something away from players who have made them feel inferior in a video game.

People who report for teabagging are the majority of the time, people who zerg and teabag you and also people who send hate whispers.

was playing yesterday and got in to a fight outside of ash, we owned the keep...we won the fight, there was this one player on the ground dead that other folks must have recognized - they bagged them for the whole time it took for them to automatically respawn at the starter gate...

i don't know who the player on the ground was, or the few folks who spent 10 plus minutes pounding on R3 (PS4) relentlessly for the whole time...

it was kind of an odd thing to watch though...

i love taunting, but - i stick with the emotes we can slot...

at one point folks actually switched to their camel mount, just so they could spit that glob of goo on the body...

Sounds fair. I don't do it because I think it is childish, but I also don't get why people get mad about it.

    You already said the rule?

I know some players that will do a single air teabag not over the body but to the side, usually saved for friends, etc...as a hello, respect ya.

Some loser once whined at me because I bagged them after I turned around their gank on them. They said they'd report me for it if I ever did it again, and assured me it had nothing to do with sex stuff. That message laid the groundwork for a future ban. I now have to be mindful that I never bag that exact dork again which is extra difficult because I don't remember their name, not a single crouch was personal.

T-bagging is part of PVP in every game that has crouching. This person has impaired my ability to enjoy this game way more than I impaired theirs. If we can't get new pvp content, can @zenimaxonlinestudios at least label t-bagging as gloating and unbannable?

just wondering, is there a reason why you don't use emotes to taunt?

does t-bagging have some kind of special meaning?

It's easier to do than open the emote wheel and pick an emote, or even set up an emote wheel. Also easier to get away from the bagged's team mates

The simple act of t-bagging is disrespectful and IMO players who do this and are reported for this should receive some type of punishment.

I have no problem with emotes though. I laugh when they are used on me.

Hey I just found out I have the shovel emote. This weekend I think that's going to be my new thing. I might even have to pack some immove pots for it. That's a $30 idea.

Bagging's an A-tier taunt for how easy and effective it is, but shovel is uncontested S-tier for it's immense style.

But if enough people shovel, I'm sure there'll be a couple reports saying they got triggered from being buried alive once.

;) sounds good to me, tbag/emotes are fun , I would never do anything silly like report.

I've only tbag a few times, mostly to friends as "hi", use salute for enemies that gave a good fight, & zerglings I don't waste my time.

It isn’t a big deal. Shouldn’t be anyway.

I bagged someone last night for the first time in, I dunno, half a year. I was solo taking a rss and he tried to fight me on flag… it was a good fight honestly, but I guess my sustain was better than his because for no reason apparent to me he decides to take the fight into the tower. So we’re fighting in the tower and it takes me a while to kill him… come back down, I have one random alliance member flipping the flag for me. Cool. Then on the way to front door he fights me… the rando on my team is curiously not helping me… I’m getting the impression they know each other maybe… maybe the guy was requesting a redo of the 1v1. So I give him his chance… but he keeps trying to draw me into guards. And I keep not obliging. Anyway by the time the guy finally missteps and I kill him again… I dunno, I guess I felt especially trolled at the moment by both the people, so I bagged the guy. Just a way of saying “I’m better than you leave me alone.” Which… no, that’s not nice to say, but it felt appropriate at the moment, and I’m sure my level of anger before bagging him was just as high as their level of anger after I bagged him. We probably both just need to get over it, if I may finally tie this anecdote back into the main discussion. All is fair.

According to the rule shared by Gina, only the person that was the recipient of the bag can file a complaint, and only after they told the bagger to stop, and that person continued to bag.

They probably told you that because the proper way to report someone for teabagging is to ask them not to do it first. Which is ridiculous—I've had to ask people not to do it and it's super awkward lol! "Hii, please don't put your [redacted] in my mouth." lol .... It's especially hard because it tends to offend the teabagger who often thinks the person is salty for dying and is just trying to get back at them.

Teabagging is joking about forcing sex on a stranger, plain and simple. It's not done with the intention to make the other person laugh. I know people who don't PvP specifically because it's so violative. It's unwelcoming and bad manners, and the game would have a stronger community if people were less sensitive about being asked not to teabag.

It might be funny between friends, but it's totally different among strangers. Like many raunchy jokes are. I usually settle for an emote like /sweep or /shovel.

    .
    Oh the irony!

No the multiplayer gaming community for as long as I can remember has been totally fine with t-bagging. Some small percentage of the younger generation of gamers is too sensitive to handle it and have been trying to get it banned. You can't call the rest of us sensitive when we aren't the ones who were offended. We shouldn't have to change for the newcomers. They should embrace the culture of the group they want to be a part of. If not then single player games and mobile games might be more to their interest.

I wrote a poem that I titled, "The ganker's delight."

As you lay upon the ground, cry not little pawn.
The pain will pass as quickly as my blade did take you,
but my delight will last and you will respawn.
My heart simply cannot contain my joy, when I ply my trade.

The fault lies with you, your skill was lacking.
Now your salt is mine forever, can't you hear the laughing?
Once you were so proud and now you are reduced to this.
    A miserable, loud deuced fool.

With every tear you drip, with every excuse you let slip.
All of your insecurities and worries bring a smile to my lip.
From your despair I have ripped endless glories,
but our affair is over now. Be afraid for I will return for more.

I have received many titles, to my allies I am The sniper Emperor and Grand champion hero of the Pact. However these titles mean little to me, it is the ones given to me by my victims that I prefer. To them I am "Xv1er", "trash", "no balls", "zerger", "noob", "cringe", "no skill", "camper", "100% new", "the reason this game is dying", "pathetic", "a sack of piece of [snip]", "mediocre", "absolute inbred", "beyond a virgin", "ganky dork", "fat smelly 40yr old virgin", "little girl", "daddy", "exploiting loser", and every [snipped] word known to man.

I hate when I see this honestly. Teabagging is nothing of the sort, you all sound ridiculous claiming this is a form of sa.

    1.) It's a game.
2.) No one in rl teabags corps (I hope?)

It's okay to not like teabaggers, but don't compare it to sa. That's just insulting to sa victims.
