Does ZOS need to implement more storage/inventory space?

A lot of people say that their issues have been more or less solved by the collections book for sets, but...

If you're like me, and you have a weird OCD-like need for stuff to match, then you need all-original or all-Reconstructed item sets -- mixing & matching just won't do! Those little icons differentiating them in inventory won't permit it! :P

If anything, the "sticker book" system has increased my tendency to hoard stuff because now there's a third category of gear items; Original (dropped in right trait/weight), Transmuted (swirly icon), and Reconstructed (weird little helmet & sword icon).

Yes, I'm strangely particular sometimes about things that matter exactly 0%, haha. I'm definitely in the minority here, but I know I'm not alone... Twos and twos of people all over the world feel this way!

I would be good if ZOS would just allow all portions, foods, poisons, soul gems, etc. stack without any caps. Heck it would be nice if all those portions, foods, poisons, soul gems, etc. could go into something like the Craft Bag as a cool perk for ESO+. I also would not mind if they found a way to allow furniture, such as all those Daedric Thrones I have, stack without any caps as well. But perhaps that is just me being greedy :D

Now that you can 'learn' the set pieces and don't have to keep what you aren't using, a lot of inventory stress has been relieved. Inventory is in a far better place than it was when I started playing over 5 years ago. Not only did I have storage mule alts my main account, I had storage mule accounts to handle the overflow.

I do have one gripe though (as some have already alluded to), inventory/bank capacity has never expanded in line with the addition of new items. When I started playing we didn't have poisons (or their ingredients), neither master writs or jewelry crafting existed, nor did we have housing and the associated furniture or furniture blueprints.

All of these things have been introduced, along with new zones/DLC, dozens of new armour styles, recipes, events and their associated drops, etc., without the basic inventory or bank spaces expanding with them. This is something ZOS should look at changing, at least going forward.

You wouldn't believe how we all applauded the introduction of storage chests - even though we had to buy some of them.

YES YES YES AND MORE YES!! I don't want to be forced to start a guild just to access a guild bank or asking guild mates to act as return dummies so I can store items in the bank. This issue has gone beyond being ridiculous!

That would be nice. What I did was to get the Coldharbour house and store all my unused furnishings there. I think of it as my pocket of Oblivion “craft bag” for furnishings that I can actually enter, grab a furnishing I need for another house, and wander around in a bit to remind myself what I have in storage. 🙂

I think if they made more items stackable ( siege, event items, etc ) , unlocked transmutation storage cap , make lock picks and soul gems and fragment keys a craft bag item .... Changes like these would unlock alot of free space without changing the cap or adding more crown item inventory things

I'd really like it if I could stack the bloody transmutes once you get over the 1000 limit you end up with all these transmute things until you find something else to spend transmutes on.

Companions gear is upcoming (of course, for those who will decide to try the biggest Blackwood feature).

Companions are too weak to carry theirs belongings (10 slots x 3 weights x 9 traits).
Equipping companions with some sort of a HUGE bag (maybe solely dedicated to companions' gear) would help to make these slackers to carry their burdens, but not to make players the squires for companions.

In my opinion the question of storage for the companions gear is to be resolved before U30 goes live.
Otherwise, yes, players would need some very significant bag space upgrade.

I agree , I think and companion gear and extra companion gear should be stored on the companion and not the player

Unfortunately, at some point you'll run into performance issues because of all the data that needs to be stored. This is why they have caps on storage to begin with.

I do wish instead of storing your gear in a bank that instead we had a "closet" (who stores their clothes in a bank anyway? :/). Each time you logged off all the gear your character is wearing would be automatically returned to the closet. That way all your gear would always be available to each character you log on as. When you log back in, the gear you were wearing at log off would be pulled from the closet and worn again.

Can't even tell you how many times I've been annoyed because I need one piece of gear that I just happened to leave in another character's inventory. So to get it, I have log off, log back in on the other toon, put the piece in the bank, log off, log back in, go to the bank, and get the piece out of the bank. Drives me nuts sometimes.

I don't know if we need more storage, but a smarter storage system would be helpful.

Would be nice if they at least made more things stack like transmutes or at least gave us a larger limit I know they did this before but still I keep reaching that limit and it's like what if I need to use them later on.

No, this game already has very generous storage space for a MMO. What they need to do is to invent a time machine, return to early stages of designing this game and have a MMO itemization too.

Storage is enough for me (ok I'm guilty - private guild banks help)

but my main has more than half of his inventory used for gear I am regularly swapping.

So a few more pets would be nice

But the mercheant is helping - so it is not very important to me

As part of our personal inventory i would like to see a potion/food bag maybe with about 10 slots as i tend to keep multiple pots and a couple of foods at least. I hate that i can't organize my inventory ( like put things into "bags" where i dont have to look at them but can still use them)

As part of our bank storage i would like a parchment/scroll case that can store at least 100( 250 or more ideally) max of any paper type items such as motifs, furnishing prints, recipes, treasure maps( make them stackable), and surveys.

As part of our bank storage i would like a furnishing tab. It needs to be at least 500 slot ( maxed out) at minimum.

I don't care if upgrades cost crowns or gold.

Yes. Every expansion should come included with bank increases if nothing else.

    Why?

ESO has given you every tool needed to handle hoarding

maybe it has given YOU all the tools YOU need...

If they gave us a sticker book for furniture all my problems would be solved.

Between the once-a-year sale at the lux vendor, antiquities, and other findable/event-only furniture stuff that I have to get when it is there in case I need it later, too much of my storage is used up.

For me it's normal that we have to "pay" to get more inventory slots. I don't know it different in other MMOs I know. And to manage inventory always takes time. Sort of part of the game... :D

Personally, with 110 slots, I never get full inventory, simply because no matter how long I stay out in the woods, soon or later, I always cross a town (bank + merchant) or a merchant-on-the-go, allowing me to empty my inventory.

Now in my main MMO, there is something I find really good and that I would love to see in ESO: at crafting stations, we have direct bank access. That would be nice if ESO would implement that. o:)

With new sets and gear we get few times per year it would be great to have more stash.
I would gladly pay for each of these:

-Big housing chests, 100 slots each, can be summoned similar to assistants
-Fence chest, as a mean to save stolen item to launder on alts and thus speed up their legerdemain progression
-Companion that can carry 100 slots of gear ( if this was a feature i would buy new chapter on each of my 5 accounts)
-Armor mannequins for houses, to display and save our gear sets. Each would have 50 up to 9 slots of equipped gear and extra 20 slots as drawer where we can put gear
-More pets that boost inventory size

    Awake, but at what cost

    - not a fan.. and with crag applecrates tour it's fast anyway. but in the wouldnt complain
    - like it.. would settle for only companion gear items
    - a bit different. not 9 but up to all 12 slots. not only to display in house. but as well work in inventory, bank, trader. equip/deequip with one click. so each char could have a solo, pvp, dps, heal/tank, quest mannequin. (or multiple of each) .

My bank + inventory is alright, however there is one thing that annoys me a lot. Some items refuse to stack, even when they are exactly the same. (Not talking about character bound items.) The only possible difference is the source.

Please make items which are identical stack. Why can't PvP items stack? Like all flaming oils, trebuchets etc, why don't they stack?? o.O

They don't stack because they may have varying levels of "repair" and are therefore not identical under the surface.

As far as me, I agree with furniture being a major source of my inventory woes. Example: The only available once a year luxury items, especially the items I want in bulk like flowers/trees. I've taken to dumping them in free Psijiic Villa but I prefer them in my bank so I can see them in any house I'm decorating rather than having to bounce back and forth to the "warehouse". (And yes, I know there are addons, not everyone can/wants to use addons)

This option is for those who just want to vote but don't have an opinion to share, but like to vote. I got you, booboo.
    Need? No.

Want? Possibly but it might just make me lazy in doing writs and surveys and maps because that and furniture is what tends to do me in.

I sub so I have 400+ banks slots and 200+ character slots (times however many I am willing to utilise). I also have 360 chests slots. I also have the craft bag so all that is being used by non-crafting things.. Even with that I have at least 5 houses that are basically just giant warehouses for various types of furniture of garden plants.

If you play this game for long, especially if you play across multiple aspects of it then you are going to accumulate a LOT of stuff.

But I am, also aware that every extra slot we have is an extra database slot for every one across all servers so there is a penalty. I also know that, like many of us, I will fill up whatever slots I am given so the more you give me the more I will fill.

So that is a long way to say I don't really feel strongly about it - the one thing I would like is to be able to stack siege weapons, yes it is unrealistic but so is a wooden catapult that fires lightning!
