    No.
It's another spit on the face, from ZOS to their loyal customers.
They dont care about the consequences this has led to, all they want is to please their crown store's addicts.

    Yes and No.

I play faction loyal for EP.

I didnt ask for them. I think it's created problems for many players who logically played multifaction with multiple characters and friends because ZOS allowed it for so long. I think they werent implemented terribly well.

But now that we have them, I like the effects. They've generally succeeded in cutting back on the bad behavior they were supppsed to in my main campaign, and that's a welcome breath of fresh air in Cyrodiil.

    I wish:
No CP got an unlocked 7 day option
    We had alliance change tokens.
We had an token to swap factions useable every couple months for the people who genuinely made a mistake.

When i first started playing, faction lock already existed. It was then removed ( i was annoyed that it was removed i quite liked the exclusivity of being locked into one faction) But.. Everyone went and made a whole bunch of alts to play on other alliances with, Now players cant use those alts.

And while I'm playing EP and pretty much winning Campaigns still, my other characters are now collecting dust and I can't play with all my friends which has eventually led me to not play as much in general.

No CP players can't use alts because ZOS in their "wisdom" decided not to give them an unlocked option. Pretty unfortunate.

CP players can use their alts and play with their friends on the 7 day campaign, which might mean that campaign wasn't empty if everyone actually made the effort to regularly play on their alts or with their other alliance friends. Except that's not what happened. Instead it seems most multifaction players would rather stay in the busier 30 day campaign and complain about not being able to play with friends/ other alts instead of actually filling up the 7 day.

I'm against it because i have more than one main character (5 to be exact) and those characters span all 3 alliances.
I'm effectively locked out from playing the campaign type i enjoy the most.

Not sure how that translates to "elite"?

I said no but I’m not too bothered with it. Server performance on Xbox NA has me on other games anyways. But having 14 characters on different factions doesn’t feel too good when all I play is pvp. I see it as another oversight that sounded good on paper when the game had the campaigns to support it, but now the population barely fills one.

I don't know why we have to even have this … You have a choice. If you don't like the faction locks, go play on a server that doesn't have them. If you like them, play on a server that does. It's that simple.

Not everyone that is either for or against this thing spends time on the forums. There are great many people that are the silent majority and think these forums are too trolllish to even bother with using them. Gee … given the screaming from the same people in every thread having to do with this, I'd say they were right.

Dear ZOS, please don't let a minority of loud mouthed complainers ruin this game for everyone else. We've already lost enough people to other games because of all the trolling and complaining.

Then it is not applicable to you... but this is a common argument of the pro faction lock, which I find funny

I understand on the other hand the issue that is , not to be able to play a toon for the duration of the campagin but I believe there are more pros than cons to this design

This is not a valid argument to make.

There haven´t been enough players to populate the 7 day campaign for 2 years now. If people would swap we´d simply see two dead campaigns because there´d be too little players in both of them because the map is too large.

The games reality is: There is only one populated campaign for each gamemode because there aren´t any more players to populate a second one.

Talking about theoretical options when in practice everybody playing pvp knows they aren´t even remotely realistic is not contructive in any way. Essentially it´s mocking people.

Furthermore you´re only talking about primetime if at all. There are players that can only play during off hours which only excerbates the problem of too little players even more.

You can´t say people can switch to a second campaign if there aren´t enough people online playing pvp for ONE for 20 hours of the day.

Edit for personal example: The population of the 30 day locked campaign on PC-EU right now - when i can play - is 1 bar for every faction (and that´s not gonna substantially change for the next 8 hours). Who do you think i´ll convince going to 7 day with me to play alts?

    LOL

Anyones friend from another faction can easily whisper information. Faction lock does nothing for spying. Nobody bothers with making a spy character fyi.

People use voice chat and other texting programs outside of the game and they can easily notify each other with what is going on. This is a MMO so yeah you get to make a lot of friends :)

Faction lock does nothing but empower zergs which is against a balanced AvA.

You might aswell stick me the finger.

It's not intended as a mocking comment.

One of the reasons I bring it up is that people keep making an incorrect statement.

    "I can't play my alts."

No, that's only true in No CP. In CP, you can. You are abt le to play your alts on the 7 day.

What they mean is "I can't play my alts in the campaign I want." That's true.

Saying what is actually true saves obvious corrections.

So not intended as mocking. Especially since, it is, apparently, how ZOS expected it to work.

On paper, it makes sense. If enough CP players actually want to play their alts/play with friends, they will move. If enough players move, the 7 day isn't dead.

On paper. I think I made iclear In my comment that this isnt how its actually worked out in practice. Most multifaction players would rather play in the 30 day campaign rather than in the unlocked 7 day, which means that the 7 day has been dead, stayed dead, and will probably continue to be dead.

There's a couple reasons why nobody moved.
    1. The "I just want good fights" players want the populated server for better fights, so they stay on the 30 day and complain that they can't play alts on the 7 day because there are no fights.

    2. The "I just want my Tier 1 Transmute geode" casual crowd wants the 50-crystal geode from the 30 day campaign because its the most stuff for the least effort. So they play the 30 day on one faction, and complain that they can't get rewards on their alts because it would require weekly effort to get less rewards on the 7 day.

    3. The "I just want to play with my friends" crowd ran into the IRL issue that none of us have unlimited time. Sure, multifaction guilds and players could coordinate times to play on the 7 day so they could hang out with friends. But most guilds/players simply picked one faction and spend most of their available time on the 30 day, and don't play on the 7 day.

So the 7 day was dead, stayed dead because no one went over for various reasons even though its unlocked, and probably will stay dead.

Multifaction players could change that. It would take deliberately putting the effort in to make the 7 day populated and competitive...and no one seems willing to do so.

Solution that retains the benefits of faction lock?

Make the faction lock count for all characters on the account. So if I choose EP, all my characters can play for EP, even the DC stam sorc.

That solves the "I can't use my alts on the campaign I want." Problem.

I like the faction lock on the 30 day pvp server. It encourages gameplay in the manner that the game was designed to be played. Playing the map, and trying to win a campaign, provides a framework for the fights, a reason for group synergies and coordinated play. There are other areas in the game where you can go to have fights with friends that aren't in an AvAvA zone with a campaign war in progress.

I do feel bad for people who have invested time in characters that they can't play as they envisioned when they created them. But I don't think that is a good reason to have continued the game-destroying antics of the faction-swappers in the game that ZOS originally intended.

A bad decision has been reversed. I hope ZOS stays the course on this one.

I really never understood the need to flip sides all the time. kind of boring if you think about it.. lets all log into a faction take keeps and crown an emp. Then log into another faction take back the keeps and crown a new emp, pat each other on the back and say "Yay!! Congrats to the new Emp!" and then the new fake Emp would respond, "I couldn't have done it without you.. thanks for the push!!".

Even though DC is going through a challenging time ( pc/na/kaal ), I think they are doing a great job since faction locked.

    Zone chat before Faction Lock:
player: Don't tell me how to play
player: I can do what I want, i paid for the game. Not you!
player: nobody cares about the score, that is so beta
player: I'm only here for the rewards

    Zone chat after Faction Lock:
    player: Lock down the gates!
player: 10 min til eval.. take something
    player: Great team work
    player: Awesome job guys!!

Do you really believe that “spies” are doing this then go kill their friends when they come. When they keep dieing they will stop doing stupid stuff to your group. There have always been trolls and griefers there is this neat little feature where you can ignore a person. So you can actually stop feeding the trolls in zone.

Actually look at it this way you get their AP so good for you and bad for them, unless of course you just want to pvdoor the keep well then...
