List of hairstyles still unavailable to players

I think by now all of the 3-year-out-of-the-store styles have finally made their reappearance. But that's just it - they've been released before. We last got an indication that they were releasing NPC-only styles with the Unruly Bangs style in the Akaviri crates, and we've had two crate seasons since then with no styles added.

I think the other problem still is the fact that all brand new styles released since 2018 have been for all races (I think - I only looked quickly and I think Barbaric Windblown from May 2018 is the last one that excluded races). The only styles we've seen recently that are not for all races are ones that were previously available. The styles that are programmed in game and made it to PTS but are yet to release - Short Mussed Wave, Warrior Topknots, and Port-Side Shave are only men/mer races (SMW also for Khajiit), so none have an Argonian morph. There's also the few programmed in that are Argonian only like Fluttering Forehead Feathers and Sunset Crest, and I think Mid-Parted is also men/mer only. I'd hope they'd go ahead and *add* the missing morphs so they could release them, but... I wonder if the fact that they're programmed in means they don't want to touch them.

...but they just keep taunting us with them...

I'm expecting there will be only one hairstyle in the Harlequin crates, and it's also the one hairstyle that even a collector like me won't need to get. It feels almost insulting in a way - the Standing Wave was made originally as an in-joke about one of the developers who had a similar hairstyle, and now they're dyeing a joke hairstyle to reference another in-joke - so it's a joke combined with a joke. We ask them for new styles to release, and we get "lol it's a joke within a joke!" Feels more than a little flippant if you ask me...

I reached that point where I don't think they'll ever release these styles. Evidently someone up top thinks that the only way to make money is to make more mounts and non-combat pets, so unless we want one of those we're out of luck. Maybe we can convince them to make an animated wig as a non-combat pet, which sits on your head when idle...

Welp, new datamine released, and nothing there.

I'm doubly annoyed right now since I finally managed to have a run-in with the mage in Blackwood who can change your appearance, and he turned my character into a Maormer. That was cool enough, but I didn't know it would reroll the appearance every time you went through a load screen.

And of course...


Really? It's even some semblance of playable, and still not even in the collections menu yet? ZOS y u do dis?

*sigh* I don't think we'll ever see some of these hairstyles release. It boggles the mind that we can beg for them for so long (since 2016 in some cases!), and not only does it seem that ZOS doesn't care, but they then actively shove it in our faces.

...but now I really kinda want to have a Maormer character, since that dude looks awesome...

So I guess everyone's seen by now in the Update 32 preview article...

Of all the hairstyles that they have in game, they had to throw up a model with Velsa's hair.

I suppose it's relevant that that looks like an in-game screenshot rather than a promo art pic like we saw Short Mussed constantly featured in last year, so it may be closer to being playable than we think. However, the Crown Store art for this style wasn't seen afaik so I guess it's not likely coming until we see that, which we may not see until the U33 datamines. At least people have said that an icon for it exists now.
I really would like to start calling that style by its proper name.

But seriously, can we get some of these styles we've been asking for for ages already? Short Mussed was released on PTS back in 2016, and has been MIA since then, and yet we see it on so many NPCs all over the place (including one of the companions that many characters have following them, and he can't wear headgear so we always see it...). It really feels like there's somebody on the Crown Store team rubbing their hands and enjoying torturing the players.

Please ZOS, release these styles! We want to give you money for them!

...I guess here's hoping for some good news in the November showcase? But I think we've seen all the styles that have been released thus far recently so I don't know if we'll be blessed with a surprise release of Short Mussed or Velsa's...

@ZOS_Kevin , would you mind passing the message along that a lot of players are dying to buy styles like Short Mussed Wave and Velsa's hairstyle. We see them in so many promo pictures and on all of these NPCs, but we can't get them ourselves. I know those two are my big ones and I've got characters I want to put them on immediately.
Or if not, can we at least get an official statement that they're never coming so we can all just give up hope? I am kind of dragging my feet on my one character who I want to give SMW to since I like to document my stories with screenshots and I don't want to have to retake hundreds of pictures when that style finally does release. But if I knew it was never coming, I could at least go with my second choice...

I'm hoping Velsa's is also coming soon, but we don't have a promo art for that one. Yet. But people have said that they found an icon in the files now, so we may see the collection item soon (and finally have a name for it!). Also really think that the in-game shot they used on the recent Armory article looks like it should be available soon-ish.

ZOS has to know that SMW and Velsa's are probably the two most requested hairstyles, and I'm sure the sales will show that once it pops up on the 22nd. Here's hoping they fast-track Velsa's if they see how much we like it!

I am so sick and tired of ALL the hair available in the game. MOST of it looks like trash and like it was styled with a weed whacker. It's really pretty embarrassing that they can't seem to do better than this. You manage to fling expensive new armor styles at us every week it seems. Or monthly at least. But we're lucky to get a "new" hairstyle a couple of times a year??? And mostly it's just retreads! C'mon man, you CAN do better than this!

I am rather baffled at the several recolors of standing wave that have been released, even while this doesn’t strike me as the most lore friendly hairstyle, yet long-requested in-game hairstyles like Veya’s have not been released for players.

What's with the desire for the Portside Shave? Wasn't that in the store waaaay back?
I might be mistaken, but I think one of my chars is wearing it, so it must have been available at one point in the past.

It's an alternate version of Sidelong Sweep, albeit different & covering the entire left side of the head as opposed to just the front right corner. Was never available in the crown store though. These screenshots are from when it was available to try out in the PTS in early 2016, along with others such as short mussed wave & the warrior top knots

We need more hairstyles period.
Eso is aging and the old styles are in the game since vanilla.
A new hair pack of some sorts has to be made available via crown store or the as a free update i dont even care.. but keep in mind all competitive mmos (even wow) widened their customization options across all different races.. aside from hairstyles wow players can change almost anything about their character.. eso is a bit lacking on that field i think

Looks like in the latest datamine we have gotten a completely new hairstyle not even seen on NPCs called "Cutting Edge", which I'm assuming will probably be in the Dark Chivalry crown crates.



Suppose it's better than nothing, but would rather prefer the bringing out of Jorunn's hair, Veya's hair & Mid-Parted Shoulder Length honestly.

A Crown Store banner for Draping Locks (Veya’s hair) has been datamined from the latest PTS update. While this is no guarantee that it will hit the store, it is still a good indication that it might become available to players soon.

I'm glad we finally have something to call it other than "Velsa's Hair" though. Very happy to see it though, 100% day one purchase. Now to just hope they finally bring it out...

It is exciting to finally see this hairstyle get an official name & crown store image now, hopefully it'll be available soon after years of being requested. I have a feeling that this hairstyle could possibly be a hairstyle in the next crate season as Cutting Edge is in Dark Chivalry currently. Now, if we can just get Jorunn's hair an actual name & image.

Now I hope they will just put it in the store normally. I mean, given how popular this hairstyle has been for years and years, it sounds like most of the playerbase will probably purchase it if actually given the chance to do so.

Don't leave the new players out and put things like hairstyles in the regular store without limited edition artificial rarity nonsense please. It's just hair, not sparkling unicorn dust. All players should always have access to all the hairstyles.

Though a new target has appeared, as now the watch begins for the next 7 year stretch goal, the half long hairstyle the indrik vendor uses. ESO pls, if you can make it for NPC's you can make it for players.
