Wraithstone performance downgrade

I had thought it was me changing CPU lines in usersettings.. fixed a long standing stutter issue I had, but am now having the same issue OP describes. long load times across the board, and NPCs not appearing until after some time standing on top of them. (Collision is still there, they're just invisible for 20-40s)

I find players are loading a lot slower, too. Playing on NA

I noticed it too.
It is even worse in crowded areas, like in major cities.

PC na performance is about the same. On PS4 it is worse. I ported in to Hews Bane this morning and had a slideshow from the wayshrine to the outlaw refuge. Before the update I would only have the slideshow for a short distance.

Surely ZOS are aware of when performance started to get worse, the whole of this year for starters, constant decline.

The issues I experienced are:

• Increased loading screens (by a lot, especially when loading characters).
• Increased ping (never was that good but it's been getting worse lately).
• FPS changes are even more noticeable. It randomly goes from 60 to 15.
• NPCs taking ages to load in. Textures for buildings and players too.
• Vendoring items is even slower now. Sometimes it randomly took me like 10 seconds to vendor something, but now it seems to happen to every single object I list. Something similar happened to the bank.

On my PC the FPS has been a bit worse, but degrades to completely uplayable over time. (the amount of time varies but can be a few minutes after login, to a few hours). If I logout and come back, it usually puts my FPS back up to normal and it slowly declines again. I've verified addons dont make a difference by disabling all of them. Some zones are worse than others. Stros M'kai for example gets bad very quickly.

Ping has also been higher for me (over 100ms) but it appears to be due to Akami.

I have returned to play only about a week ago after few months break, so I immediately noticed that the performance is worse than it used to be prior to Wrathstone Update.
What I experience:
1. Higher latency - especially when in crowded areas, like major cities or large cyrodiil battles(can happen even outside of a battle when in prime time but to a lesser degree).
Overall, there is higher latency anywhere. An increase from 120 to close to 200 even in areas where there are few players.
2. Lower FPS - - especially when in crowded areas, like major cities or large cyrodiil battles(can happen even outside of a battle when in prime time but to a lesser degree).
Overall, there is lower FPS anywhere(average of 50-60 instead of 100+ or more since last Update, 20 fps instead of 30-40 fps in large cyrodiil fights).
3. longer loading screens.
4. Buying items from guild traders takes longer time to complete/load.
5. Group finders formation of groups, especially for Battlegrounds takes longer.
6. Game crash - This is happening in large battles in Cyrodiil and then the following years old familiar error appears: "Unable to connect to game server. Please make sure you have a valid internet connection".
This error continues to appear when trying to login again(It resolves only after either the battle was over in the area in which the game crashed or after about 10 minutes have passed, so the player can login to a PVE zone with no issue).
7. There may be other issues, but the above are the major ones.

Please fix the game, thanks!

I am noticing all these same issues where I didn't before. It started the day of the wrathstone drop for PC. Deleting saved variables, addonas and clearing the windows temp folder changed nothing. My ping dings to over 1k and fps drops to single digits, 1 being the lowest, 10 the highest and 4-5 being the norm for these spikes in performance. It is MUCH worse in crowded areas like Vivec city, or most others for that matter, and has happened to me in high mob count dungeons as well (I even had to go to min graphics in wgt because a healer unable to heal is bad for everyone there.)

Yup, crazy long load screens, insane lag, orbs and shards are not registering (returning resources) when I synergize them, and now I can't access my start menu while dead in Cyrodil. Not to mention this weird resource drain thing. I'm on console, so I can't track it, but I'm noticing my stam and mag dipping for no reason in battle.

I'm on Xbox NA though, so I only just got the patch yesterday.

Deactivate awesome guild store...its atm slowing down the speed of the traders, compared to only using the trader without addons.

Unfortunately, without AGS you dont have the auto fill in from MM data into the Guildstores...so its a bit a pain in the bum to use AGS, but it provides unique features on the cost of trader performance

This issue is happening on PS4 too, and we don’t have access to addons.

PS4 here, I just received the update yesterday and noticing all these things. I've very very rarely had lag or zoning issues at all until last night. Listing my items it for sale took so long I finally quit for the night. I'd like an item and it took about 20 seconds for all my items to appear to list another, over and over. I kept getting kicked out of the game when changing zones and that's been rare for me until last night also.

I also noticed that there was a second or two delay after pressing buttons for anything to do that was non-pve related. The only zone. The changes are nice though grats on that, just seems to be a few issues which is to be expected with these large changes, thank you for adding those.

When I ride horseback from the Gold Coast wayshrine to the Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary, I get a long pause about 2/5ths of the way there where it drops from 60 frames per second to 1 frame every 2-4 seconds, for 6-7 seconds, and then it's back to normal. PC/NA Win10

I've only noticed since the start of the event, since I don't normally do the DLC dailies.

For me, this became much more noticeable within the first week of PTS for Wraithstone.

FPS drops happen very frequently in the populated cities. I frequent Rivenspire often and it is usually fps drops between 15-35 and latency spikes from 150-400.

I find I get screen stuttering and fps as well when riding my mount, especially when using rapids. Even running in rapids sometimes causes this.

The actual Latency spikes however seemed to have started to happen around the middle of December and have become more frequent and consistent.

For me the lag/stutter has become less frequent in big cities since Wrathstone, but has worsened in Cyrodiil.

Don't agree on Xbox NA or EU.

There is a horrible delay in mail trying to clear items but that feels intentional code rather than lag.

But game performance feels fine.

It basically happened immediately the day after the patch hit, as I said gave it a while to see if it smoothed out...it did not, so..here we are.

There are many issues with game performance.
Just typing this after my 6th crash in PC EU Vivec in the last 45 minutes.
It happens in large battles, near keeps/outposts.

Console xbox NA--suddenly can't access 5 of 7 chests in summerset villa. Tried moving a few to other apartments, hard reboot, moving, logging out, logging in, picking up, putting down somewhere else. Beyond frustrated. Don't know where to post this for a result. And now, got Valkyn Skoria head, but shoulders are in boxes I can't get into and suppose to do first vet trial tomorrow. After having my Kajiit NB nerfed for stamina, this is just getting insulting.

The patch on Monday the 11th is where things got even worse for me; not the actual Wrathstone patch - that was ok...but it’s gotten also worse over time...but really bad for me since Monday.

Anyone else?

Not me Izzy. The only thing I notice since Wrathstone + patch on 11th is occasional rubber banding. And that's actually not any worse for me than it ever is - since I have satellite mega-ping at all times!

- lag
Now constantly at 300ms+, used to be 240ms just before wrathstone
- lag spikes
Used to minor, but after running my first vMA run since the update yesterday I can confirm Massive lag spikes as soon as combat starts. Talking about at least +150ms, but normally closer to +260ms, even on combat dummies in empty house. If it was based on my internet it would also happen in big cities, but it doesn't. (still amazed that I managed to clear arena 8 where the lag spikes were at 999+)
- fps drops
Seeing frequent drops where my fps drops from 60+ to 24 with massive stuttering. This can be while moving through town, killing a skeever, anything really. (and I am not including here the large delay now present after porting to a new wayshrine for the fps to stabilize.... Also new, or the 0fps bug)
- loading times
Relog times are worse now than before the patch. And the one time we were told that it should be bad. (you know this is actually a reason players from beta mention that they are considering leaving eso for the first time ever?) general load screens are now back to being a gamble for if it will take 10 seconds or 10 minutes
- when does it happen?
This is pretty much constant, and becomes more frequent the busier the servers are

Today on PC NA I've had a few occasions where it cannot connect to the server during login. My latency last night was more variable as well. It dropped below 300 for the first time in years for a short period but was jumping between 350 and 400. I also had a few big lag spikes and a disconnect in one dungeon. As far as disconnects go ESO has been rather stable for me recently so yesterday stood out. Haven't been on much today other than to check mail so can't say if it has improved at all.

Edit: in contrast, am still getting a 16ms ping to Fortnite.

I noticed a change since this monday, the 11th. Some instances seem to have become a lagfest. For example on patch day I was in vAS with no lag. A day later in nSO the FPS and lag started to creep in such a way that by the Lamia boss, weaving was nonexistent. Bar swaps took 2 seconds. Removing addons and lowering graphics settings made zero difference.

Couple days ago, in BRP, my FPS took a sharp dip and lag settled in, and later on when the group wiped I had the same old bug where we get perma stuck in ghost form until the game kicks you. After Alt-F4ing, lag was totally gone.

Feels like some sort of memory leak is back. Used to happen some time ago, then it got fixed. That if we played for several hours, performance would start getting worse until we restarted the game.

Edit- oh yeah PC EU.

Edit 2- Also remembered sudden freezes happening on specific occasions. vAA. On the instant the mage hit 0HP my game froze completely for 20 seconds or so. I was about to kill the process and forfeit the loot when suddenly it returned to normal. Also had a similar freeze in one of the BRP pulls, but it was much shorter and didn't have many consequences.
