Can We Have A Guild Based Game Now?
Keep in mind this is coming from the console perspective, I know PC users have some of these features from plugins that we dont have. Looking for your input, and open for idea exchanges and reasons why my ideas wont work, or why they shouldn't be implemented.
Part 1: The Guild UI/Management:
- An actual Guild Hall... this hall belongs to the guild, not any single player.
- The guild bank connected to the guild hall... this bank belongs to the guild, not any single player. Players can donate to the bank, and the funds can only be used to bid. It cannot be withdrawn or used for any other purpose.
- This is to help anyone managing guild funds, I know my guild master kept all gold rights to himself to squash any chance of misconduct with guild funds. But he also put all of his money into the guild, all of his loot he found and sold went to the guild, there was no separation from his gold and guild gold. I dont think it was fair to him.
- On the opposite end, there are constant stories of bank thieves and tricksters stealing from guilds and corruption. This would solve that problem.
- Managing the guild MOTD/About us sucks and is very limiting. It would be nice to have multiple tabs, Like a MOTD, Upcoming Events/Calendar, other notes... etc.
- It sucks managing raffles and keeping track of who donates, it would be great to have a system that does some of that for us. A few Ideas listed below: (Needs work)
- Like a guild NPC at the guild hall that officers can interact with and create small events for the guild, and players can purchase tickets to, and when the time comes, he announces winners.
- Guild NPC keeps track if a member deposits and withdraws from the bank (If they take more than they give), and other stats, like level (You would expect lower levels to take more than they give VS a higher player) Did they donate/take gold or items, or how much of each? Officers would have access to view this weekly.
- A separate section in the guild bank for the public and different private section for officers ( would be amazing for guild prizes, raffles, auctions etc. Even if its 50 private slots, or divided by a number of the GM's choosing from the 500 we have now)
Part 2: The Guild Roles:

Players seem to be split on the idea of benefits from having a more experienced guild that would gain benefits from ranking up a guild. Although I feel they could add bonuses that could alter game play that doesn't break the game. I feel that the negative feedback is coming from people thinking I am asking for huge buffs for being in guilds, but I want bonuses that add to small quality of life vs game breaking experiences; things that might apply in the real world, for example " A large company gets a discount on bulk items because of large orders".
Ranking up a guild could be done by achieving certain guild tasks based on the role of the guild. A Traders Guild would have different achievements than a Trials Guild.
Key Ideas:
- Inspire Loyalty to the guild
- Have the guild work together
- Differentiate one role from another
Guild roles I could see implemented in the future are: Trading, PVP, Trials, Thieving, Social, PVE, Crafting.
Example idea:
- Trading Guild
+ Sell junk to NPC's for a small bonus (Maybe 1%, 2%, 5% if a tier based system as an example)
+ Get more in Taxes from trader sales
+ 5 Extra Bag Space
