magplar staff question

anybody run staff instead of dw , I'm not sure what to make of it as not a fan of being forced to run a destro ability on an already crowded skill bar

Yeah I run staff, you get alot of damage from those light attacks. Plus if you snb back bar you get a heavy sustain option. If you're hurting for a slot just use reach over your cc or, like me, use ele drain because breech and mag regen is bae

Edit: alot of these guys seem to be running ranged with staves now, either using elemental weapon as spammable or using a master staff and reach as spammable. I'm an old new magplar (main toon crafter finally has points) so I'm relearning myself

fire/lightning.. don't use the abilities really though.. crowded bar psijic and class skills.

I dont use a class cc skill, only dbos and bloodspawn. I would love total dark but it would ruin my burst with dawnbreaker. I still use jabs so I'm in close, just destro for the weave damage. So I have swapped ele drain from where I would normally run jav or total dark. I'm still experimenting with what works best because in terms of builds duels=bgs=cryo is false

fyi bud you can still knock down and cc with dB even if they have total dark on them

You can but but if you plan to go on full offense and they have total dark on them they’ll break it and ruin the combo. When I’m fighting a Templar that uses it I let them play like I don’t know what it is, and then when I go offensive I break it to get a free cc immunity and go all in.

You can also reapply td just before it runs out for almost 100% uptime

Staff is superior for both ranged and melee magplar atm imho.
Most meleemagplars I encounter use destrostaff and 3×swift on EU.
