This update will allow you to acquire unique collectibles that you can use to store items in your homes, freeing up valuable inventory and bank space. You'll be able to acquire these new items in game or from the Crown Store.

I'd love mannequins for gear, and plaques for things like the Crab-Slaughter-Crane!
Housing storage likely means a significant update to housing, which likely means a slot upgrade of some sort.
Will each item stored count toward the furnishing limit?

No, items stored will not count towards your furnishing limit.
Also, storage containers are listed as 'collectibles' so will only count towards such, and not as your normal furnishing limit.
For further info on storage, quote (below) from this thread sums it up best - https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/388210/eso-live-january-4th-summary#latest
- Storage collectibles: 8 new collectibles. 4 big ones (chests, with 60 capacity each) and 4 small ones (coffers, with 30 capacity each) (So 360 new slots) Obtainable by master writs, tel var stones and for crowns. You can put all 8 in each of your houses and they are independant from your bank. BUT these chests have the same content in all your houses. You can also rename these collectables, so you always know what's inside of them. Other people can see them, but not interact with them.
So, Oblivion pocket realms in the form of a pretty box, basically?kip_silverwolf wrote: »Will each item stored count toward the furnishing limit?
