I'm glad, ZoS managed to get the stream through despite the complications :) You guys are so sweet with your improvised solution.

Anyway, here are the relevant news:

- PTS will be out on January 8th(monday) and the actual update will arrive in february.
- 2 new dungeons, 1 located in Stormhaven and the other located between Craglorn and Bankorai.
- Necromancer skin (Worm Wizard)
- Drake pet
- Female Dragon Priest and reanimated Skeleton Dragon as the endbosses of the new dungeons.
- There will be a collectors bundle for these dungeons. (Dragon pet, a new undead horse, exp scrolls etc. and the dungeons) Eso Plus members get access to the dungeons for free.

- Storage collectibles: 8 new collectibles. 4 big ones (chests, with 60 capacity each) and 4 small ones (coffers, with 30 capacity each) (So 360 new slots) Obtainable by master writs, tel var stones and for crowns. You can put all 8 in each of your houses and they are independant from your bank. BUT these chests have the same content in all your houses. You can also rename these collectables, so you always know what's inside of them. Other people can see them, but not interact with them.

- New house: An old dark brotherhood sanctuary.
- More furnishing space is said to come, but they are not specific when.

-Skill Advisor/Level Up Advisor: Help newer players understand combat and abilities (Cute). This advisor can also hand over materials, gold and a low level mount. If Elite players can profit from this, is currently unclear.

- Outfit System: Dye stations will be updated to outfit stations, so will the ones in your house. Each character has outfit slots and they are only available for that particular character. Each piece can be transformed individually and yes, you can make light armor look like heavy armor etc.
If you have for example head, chest and legs of a certain style, you can apply them to these particular parts.
- Transforming armor and weapons costs gold and the cost is dependant on how rare the style is. Base styles cost 100 gold per piece and fancy ones like Telvanni, cost 2000 gold per piece.

- You can dye weapons. And YES you can make a sword look like an axe for example, but not like a staff. Only weapons of the same type can be transformed.
- Styles that you have created, can be saved and applied by a single click.
- You can change the appearance of armor and weapons an infinite number of times (altough it costs gold each time) but you start with a limited amount of sets that you can safe. More can be bought on the crownstore. However, if 1 of your characters knows all styles, all your other characters will know them as well.
- Putting on a costume, will still override the gear you are currently wearing.
- Morag Tong and Imperial styles can be used for free if you possess them.

I'm interested to know, given I have 9 toons, how the costume system will work for those 8 alts that don't have many known motifs. Can I dump their armour/weapon pieces in the bank, change them on my main and then save that profile?
And are the profiles I save on my main applicable to all my toons? etc etc

They said that each outfit slot is only for the specific toon. If you want the same outfit on a different toon on your account you will have to recreate it on that toon.

Motif knowledge is shared account-wide as it pertains to the outfit system. So if you have one master crafter toon that knows all your motifs, all other toons on your account can use those learned motifs.

It sounds like the Outfits will use the Mementos/Collectibles system, so your Crafter will unlock the "collectible" version of the armor for all of your characters personal use in Outfits BUT! your Crafter will still be the only one able to make equipment

I'm very excited though. These additions will make the game so much better from a quality of life perspective.
We have yet to wait for the balance changes though.... always a dangerous topic.
They've always hinted, that they'll be doing another ESO live show soon, where they'll be talking about combat and balancing.

I like the new advisor for new players. That is an awesome addition. The more new people that make it through the levels the more people we get to know in the game through our Tamriel travels.

Tonight's show was quite possibly the best ever. I greatly admire them all for sticking around so late and making this stream happen despite all the set backs and time. Especially after a full day of work, and how uncomfortable that room apparently was.

I particularly loved Gina's comment about the new Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary home: "Look, you can see waterfalls and sh...."

"Break those rocks! Dig those ditches! Why??? Because I want you to!!!" - Ifriz the Unraveller
"There are worse masters than I. Far worse." - Molag Bal
"I humiliated the Daedra in Mehrunes Spite." - You, when turning in a specific Undaunted Daily.
"I'm not finding you very pleasant!" - Adla the Brewer
"Old Ri'hirr likes his birds slow and stupid!" - Old Ri'hirr
"When things get dirty... Oh, I get so flustered." - Meredil the Archivist

Good summary, thanks. I checked out of the stream early because of the low quality webcam.

This is great news for anyone who has these style converters. I'm glad to hear they incorporated them into the new system.

Yeah my ears still hurt from the weird audio pops on that stream. It's not funny, even if they were laughing about chat saying RIP EARS. And whoever was the guy that was sarcastic about whether we can see the things on the screen or not, nope it's not funny either that we couldn't see the preview properly because of the video quality. I wanted to see what you guys were going to be selling us in the future.

It was one of my favourite ESO live, and I am really impressed they decided to do it (so well) after technical problems. I am absolutely thrilled that a 15th character slot is going to be available in the crown store when the dlc releases. The extra slot isn't going to be in the first round of the PTS in case anyone is wondering. I'm planning to level up my 15th character without CP and just following the build recommended by the levelling adviser.

While a meagre 360 extra storage slots isn't much, it is something. And the more I think about this costume maker system the more I think it be fun. If we got the transmogrification system we asked for (change the style of individual items) then every time we changed gear sets we would have to re-transmog. Instead now a brand new player could start making there costume on day one and keep developing it as they learned more motifs or whatever even though they will change gear dozens of times underneath the outfit. If I understood it correctly then I believe every individual character has there own "outfit slot" for free, so really there isn't going to be much need to buy loads of them from the crown store unless changing outfits floats your boat.

As mentioned above, thanks for the great summary!

    Nope.

Known motifs are account-wide for the costume system only. To make a costume, you get to select from the collective motif knowledge of all your characters.

There's no change to motif knowledge for crafting purposes ... or how motifs are acquired in the game.

Since changing outfits costs gold, if you DO like to change your appearance over time, the crown store slots could save a lot of gold. So be it. It's definitely the kind of nice-to-have feature that ZoS is entitled to charge for if it chooses to.

As I understood it, all motifs known across all of your characters will be options on the outfit maker, but to craft an item the character must still know the motif them self. In a very important respect it does mean motifs are going to be account-wide evn though technically they will still be character specific.

The only exceptions are the morag tong and imperial converters from the collectors editions. You still won't be able to craft in these styles without the motifs, but you can make outfits in those styles if you have the collectors editions.

This includes combat changes and they are not going to talk about them yet, we will see that in the patchnotes on monday.
They want to make snyergies more responsive and make it so, that each player can activate the samge synergy. So for example, it seems that if I drop lightning splash, all 3 allies will be able to activate it from 1 cast.

But we shall see. I am particulary interested in heavy attack changes.

Except... how many players will actually have more than one Master Crafter, and more than one that knows most or all motifs?
I have one Master, who doesn't yet know ALL motifs - the addition of new ones is too fast to keep up with, especially since I'm not going to spend huge amounts of gold on DLC drops. And my other 8 toons, while they're usually always researching items, I won't ever do Nirn items on any of them. And they learn only cheap motifs I can't be bothered listing, like Mercenary.

As a (small) plus, if you got a particular high priced motif page and accidentally read it on the wrong character, it's now worth something.

So IMO I don't think it devalues crafting any further than it is now.
