It sounds like the Outfits will use the Mementos/Collectibles system, so your Crafter will unlock the "collectible" version of the armor for all of your characters personal use in Outfits BUT! your Crafter will still be the only one able to make equipmentLadyLethalla wrote: »I'm interested to know, given I have 9 toons, how the costume system will work for those 8 alts that don't have many known motifs.

Exactly, you can
Remember though: You can make one handed weapons like swords look like other 1 handed weapons only (daggers, axes, maces) and the same goes for 2 handed weapons.

Styles are accountwide. So if one of your characters knows them all, all your other characters will have access too.
Wait, what? Motifs are being made account-wide?
Please, for the love of Azura someone tell me that this isn't true.

Nope.
Known motifs are account-wide for the costume system only. To make a costume, you get to select from the collective motif knowledge of all your characters.
There's no change to motif knowledge for crafting purposes ... or how motifs are acquired in the game.
It was one of my favourite ESO live, and I am really impressed they decided to do it (so well) after technical problems. I am absolutely thrilled that a 15th character slot is going to be available in the crown store when the dlc releases. The extra slot isn't going to be in the first round of the PTS in case anyone is wondering. I'm planning to level up my 15th character without CP and just following the build recommended by the levelling adviser.
While a meagre 360 extra storage slots isn't much, it is something. And the more I think about this costume maker system the more I think it be fun. If we got the transmogrification system we asked for (change the style of individual items) then every time we changed gear sets we would have to re-transmog. Instead now a brand new player could start making there costume on day one and keep developing it as they learned more motifs or whatever even though they will change gear dozens of times underneath the outfit. If I understood it correctly then I believe every individual character has there own "outfit slot" for free, so really there isn't going to be much need to buy loads of them from the crown store unless changing outfits floats your boat.
As mentioned above, thanks for the great summary!

Did they mention anything about synergies >.>
@Dracane
Just imagine is we could use 5 piece better
(2 Items) Adds 1096 Maximum Magicka
(3 Items) Gain Minor Slayer at all times, increasing your damage done to Dungeon and Trial Monsters by 5%.
(4 Items) Adds 129 Spell Damage
(5 Items) When you activate a synergy, you gain a shadow blessing that increases your Spell Damage by 448 or a lunar blessing that increases your Magicka Recovery by 448 for 30 seconds. You can only have one blessing active at a time.
(2 Items) Adds 129 Magicka Recovery
(3 Items) Gain Minor Aegis at all times, reducing your damage taken from Dungeon and Trial Monsters by 5%.Monsters.
(4 Items) Adds 129 Spell Damage
(5 Items) When an ally activates your synergy, they heal themselves for 26920 Health over 10 seconds and gain Minor Force, increasing their Critical Damage done by 12%
O.O and maybe someone would actually use
Lunar Bastion Set
LEVEL 50 CHAMPION 160
(2 Items) Adds 4% Healing Taken
(3 Items) Gain Minor Aegis at all times, reducing your damage taken from Dungeon and Trial Monsters by 5%.
(4 Items) Adds 1206 Maximum Health
(5 Items) When you activate a synergy, you create a lunar blessing underneath you for 10 seconds. The blessing grants a damage shield every 2 seconds that absorbs 2399 damage for you and your allies within 8 meters.

But it is essentially the same thing. SInce you can costume every character with account wide motifs, you never need to craft the real piece with that motif anymore.

Motif pages are way more important than just being able to acquire it for the knowledge to craft it.
Achievements, master writ drops, selling and buying for players ... those are all important aspects of that part of the game.
And here was I thinking that ZOS had run out of ways to further devalue crafting. I should have known better.
