This is freakin ludicrous!! We've been waiting for the servers to be online for 7 hours now!!!

Consider the players in Australia that lost 7 hours of prime gametime!! Freakin maintenance started at 5 pm, and there is still now end in sight!!!

Exactly!! 7 hours of maintenance, and we don't even get an update/idea of when it could possibly be over? I've been up for the past 4 hours waiting, and I'm sure there have been people waiting the whole time! I know it is necessary, but not having an estimated end time is ridiculous.

Also be aware, they will be doing Store and Account maintenance tomorrow. So, actually two days in a row with downtime. Why couldn't it be all together? an unknown mystery.

Therefore, whining is acceptable imo

unfortunate as it is not being able to give an end time relates to the ever present issue of the possible problems the fixes you use cause elsewhere in game so until they slap it on a bench test they don't know if they have fixed and not created a problem elsewhere so giving a we will be finished in three days could become three months ;[

And this isn't like it's their first major maintenance. They DO IT EVERY WEEK!!

One would think they should be getting better at it, or at least have failsafe in place if things don't go as planned.

Its not random though is it!

There's been maintenance more or less every monday for the past three years since the game started...

Its been at roughly the same time...

And it lasts between 3-8hrs depending on what work is being done...

And it was also advertised on the forum all over the weekend that it would be happening, and when it would be starting.

Often with these things you never have an exact time thats it going to take, and if they give an exact ETA then most of the time that will be incorrect and people will complain even more "You said it wouuld be done by XX, why isn't it up yet" etc etc.

Grab a sweetroll & chill... theory craft a new build..... watch some twitch... make a sandwich... It'll be up soon

Store and account maintenance doesn't affect our ability to play. It will affect the store and account pages here, maybe new players who want to sign up, people who want to buy crowns, and perhaps the crown store too, but we'll be able to play.

Just stop whining.

This is not random maintenance. This is the scheduled weekly maintenance. For consoles, it is just on a different day.

I couldn't get back to into Tamriel, so I noticed there's a woman living in my house as well. Apparently she's my wife... Quite a pleasant person to hang out with actually.

That is not the purpose of the PTS system, which is probably woefully small and wimpy. I doubt it would help.

Exactly what do you think they can do before maintenance? Doing work during maintenance is pretty much why you do maintenance.

True.

But the game has successfully recovered from the horrid lag problems in the aftermath of the Morrowwind release (at least the PC version has). They also fixed the launcher issues I was having where patches would not repair correctly. So the downtime does seem to be helping.

The schedule for weekly maintenance starts at 04:00 (ZOSTime).

For the past two incidences, it has been moved to the earlier time of 03:00.

Maybe I am mistaken, but they I think that they did consoles today as well.

It may not be 'random', but it qualifies as 'extraordinary'.
