How many plain immortals have we encountered in the Elder Scrolls games?

Maiq the liars father was also named Maiq the liar

    who told you that?
You find an flute somewhere who is labled "To Maiq from his father Maiq"

One of the justice system treasures?

I think you find it in crows wood somewhere on a note.

Huh, interesting. It's been a few years since paid attention to the text in there.

    More likely, none.
Mortality is far more relative when talking about elves and magic. Someone living a few hundred years (or into the thousands) doesnt simply mean they are immortal

    Yeah, that's a good point.

Even the vampires are still mortal, ultimately..

Well immortal doesn't mean invincible. The issue is that we cant know an entity is immortal because it requires information we dont have.

Like the Tribunal. They could technically be immortal, but they died so we can never find out.
Entities currently living, that have lived a longtime, are virtually immortal but without knowing they actually are or not ;)

Yeah, there's the frame of reference thing. All that, "on a long enough timescale, the mortality rate is 1," stuff. There's also fundamental entropy that would suggest that, eventually, everything breaks. And not just because you modded it until the dragons flew backwards.

What I meant though is, as a class of beings, pretty much everything we interact with, excluding Daedra and the Divines, is still "a mortal." Okay, edge cases for Attronachs and Dragons, but still.

Even characters like Divayth Fyr are still mortals. It doesn't really matter if he's found some secret to eternal life. Same thing with the Tribunal, really. For all their power, they were still just superpowered elves.

Also consider how truly rare ancient vampires are. There's a handful scattered through the games, but most don't get to live that long. They may not fear death by old age, but they're still mortal. They can still die.

And, yeah, I understand what you're trying to say, and kinda agree with it.

It's likely the simple answer is, there's multiple spells, probably in Restoration and Conjuration, that will allow someone to halt their aging. Alteration is another possible one. When you're looking at the mages who've lived for thousands of years, it's very likely they're sustaining themselves through magic. Possibly constantly. It doesn't really make them immortal, they're just keeping their inevitable fate on layaway.
