Hope it's okay to post here, because I'm still new to guilds.

Is there an "official" location of the guild in the game, like a hall or something?

Where is the store near Elden Root? I couldn't find it.

    Thanks!

    the NC

As a fairly new player (level 30), I'm sure things in the guild bank will be useful to me. But what kinds of things should I donate to the guild bank that would be useful to other players?

@Violynne Our Trader is in Northern Grahtwood, near the Cormount Wayshrine. Also, you can access our Guild Store from any Bank in the game. :)

@michmbk Just whatever you think is fair.

If you donate items, try to make sure they have an Item Trait on them (Sharpened, Divines, Prosperous, etc. are examples of Item Traits), or if you're not having any luck with items, donate what Gold you can spare. We're pretty laid back about it, but feel free to take whatever you need. :D

Thanks Uriel. As I'm only a level 32, I'll try to donate gold for now until I get to where I can craft better stuff. I put a bunch of the trait materials in the bank last night. I like crafting too.

If anyone can spare chicken breast or that recipe, that would be super helpful. I can't find the recipe anywhere and it has me stuck on provisioning!

@moon606 I'm not sure how many AD Guildies we have. Since we're a Guild of Solo Players, we're pretty much soread out among all three Alliances. As far as PvP goes, if you want, I can put an offer in the Message of the Day to have members message you if they're interested in any PvP grouping.

@michmbk That works well for me and the Guild. Thank you. :)

I'm a Master Provisioner myself, but I don't know if I have a copy of that specific recipe. I'll check though, and if I have any Poultry I can spare, I'll put that in the Guild Bank for you as well. :)

@moon606 Awesome, then I'll get you an invite after I'm done getting tattooed tonight. :D

@Violynne I understand. lol And I'm glad you're loving our refuge for the Solo Player.

I'm just shocked no one else thought of this before.

Sadly, the Trader isn't doping the sales I had hoped, so it may be a bit before we can hire another one. Oh well, it was a nice experiment. :D

Me again. My apologies for asking noob questions, but since I can't find any info on guilds through the (ahem) help section, perhaps you can shed some light.

Is there a guild faction building we can visit?

In regard to the store, is there any way to put a request for item(s) to other players, like a bulletin board?

I know some guilds use external tools to communicate, but didn't know if they're available in the game outside of chat. I don't see a roster, either.

Since I live in the midwest, it would be nice to get to know a few people locally so that if we need to meet up for events or runs, being in the same time zone would be helpful.

    Thanks for reading!

    *hugs the guild.
    Love this guild!

PS: sorry about the loss of the store. I actually found it. I can see why it wasn't attracting many buyers. It was hard to find and doesn't look to be anywhere near a high visible/travel path. I found it by accident.

@fiendishbridge8 I've got you on my list, and I'll have you an invite tonight!

@Violynne I'll do my best to answer your questions. :D

    1) Unfortunately, no. The Houses released with Homestead only hold 24 players maximum, and the Guild couldn't afford one of the Mansions (3+ million gold per Mansion) even if we were fine with it only holding 24 Players. At the population cap they put on the Houses, the Guild would have to buy 10 mansions just to give everyone somewhere to go. ZOS says they have plans for proper Guild Halls, but no details have been given for that yet. So alas, the Guild is homeless. lol

    2) There is no bulletin board per se, but there are plenty of members who are doing well in the Crafting areas, and I'm pretty sure you could send them a message to see if they'd craft something for you. I myself have a 50 in every Crafting Skill except for Enchanting; so as long as you're not wanting 4 full Sets of armor, I'm pretty sure I could craft you something if you happen to need it. :)

    3) In regard to #2: If you go into your Menu > Social > Guilds > The Nightshade Consortium, you should see an option for "Roster" for the Guild. It will bring up a list with the members currently online listed first, then offline members after that. Just select the name of a member, and you have the option to send them a message. Though, I would also mention that you are in the same Guild as them... lol

    4) In regard to #2 & 3; The only external service the Guild currently utilizes is an Xbox Live club that goes by the same name. You can find that in the Community tab of the Xbox home screen. Just highlight the "Clubs" box on the right side of the screen, and search out "The Nightshade Consortium", then request to join, and I or one of the other Officers can send you an invitation to the Club. Once you're in, you can post a general messagfe to all the members who have joined the club, and see if someone can fulfill your crafting needs.

    5) I appreciate your passion for the game and this Guild. It warms a Guild Master's heart. :D But real life meet-ups are generally tricky things to coordinate. My wife and myself are in the American Midwest as well, but while people generally have no issues with Grouping for in-game content, getting members to feel comfortable enough with each other to meet up outside of the game world usually moves at a snail's pace. lol

Not to mention, while I will be posting up another "Consortium Weekend Dungeon Run" soon, this is a Guild for mostly Solo Players. There are no other Guilds that I'm aware of that cater specifically to people who like to "go it alone", and that is one of the big draws to this Guild that has attracted so many players; that the Guild Master (me ;)) won't be spamming people with messages to Group or to engage in any unwanted Social interaction.

That said; grouping once in a while is fine for most of our members, and while I am well aware that you understand this and this focus of the Guild seems to fit your play-style, I'm not sure real life meet-ups are going to happen (at least, there's no plans to in any "official capacity of the guild". Now, what you and any other members decide to do on your own is your own business, there's just no plans on the table for that right now.

Like I said, I love the fire you have for the Guild, and I want to keep that fire burning brightly. :D Keep an eye out for the Weekend Dungeon Run announcement, and if you find you need a Group to handle some stuff, well; we're here to help when YOU need it.

Thank you very much, Uriel_Nocturne. My stepson was the one who talked me into getting ESO, begging me to be more active in grouping on games. We originally played Destiny together with others, and that's the only thing I miss about the game.

Slowly, I'm converting from "solo with no one" to "solo with playing with others at times", which is why I started looking for a guild. After all, this is an MMO, not a MSO.

I'll look for the community on XB1 tonight and request a join. Makes sense to broaden my horizons outside of a game as well. It'll definitely be useful to help others and ask for help with things in the game, such as requesting for traited weapons and stuff.

The other reason I wanted to contact others is wondering if my deposits are worthwhile to anyone. I know the motifs are probably appreciated, but I also put in recipes I get duplicates of. They're not anything special, but often times, they're part of the writ library. I always feel a little self-conscience about putting things like this into the bank. "One person's trash..." only goes so far.

I'll take you up on your offer to create a weapon with a trait I need. 4 characters. 2 years. Never once have I seen it in my inventory. Everything else, sure, but this... of course when I want it, it's never around. RNG knows what we want and refuses to give it to us. AI. ZoS is using it.

Interesting info on the meeting building. ESO is my first MMO, so I just assumed guild halls were just part of the architecture. Never dawned on me to see one being worked on after years of release. Hah. Learn something new every day.

Thanks for answering my questions and hope to see you out there one day!

Me and my wife will likely want to join GT TBagTim302 (nickname in destiny) and wife (ATEK1234)

So your still in the building phase for guild trading? We are solo casual players, looking for a guild to be able to make gold with and at times dungeon with.

@Vackler I'll have an invite out to you tonight!

@ATEK302 We're definitely not one of the Trading Guilds. We DO have enough members for a Guild Store, but it only serves to sell among otehr Guild members most of the time.

We did have a Guild trader for a week, but we weren't able to bid enough Gold to keep i longer than that. I won't ever force the members of this Guild to fork over a mandatory Guild Dues Fee, and thus all Gold the Guild has is by donation from our dedicated members. The flip side to that, is that the Guild doesn't generate a huge amount of income, thus getting a regular Guild Trader will not be possible except for once in a while. But then, that wasn't ever the focus of this Guild. :D

But I thank you and your wife for your interest in us, and I will definitely get you both invites this evening! ;)

If it's not an answer you can give out, I understand, but what is the typical "bid" amount to acquire a guild trader?

  • Uriel_Nocturne
    Uriel_Nocturne
    ✭✭✭✭✭
    ✭✭
@Violynne That's just it, not even Guild Master's know.

The game doesn't show you how large the current bids are, anywhere, in the User Interface when bidding on a Trader. Nor does it show you how much the winning bid was for.

Guild Master's who bid on a Trader are "bidding blind", and just hoping that the bid you made is enough to secure the Trader for a week.

The Traders that are out in the wilderness don't generally cost too much. I got the one we had for 400k Gold. But the closer you get to the major Player centers (Rawl Kha, Mournhold, Daggerfall, Wayrest, Mournhold, Elden Root, etc.), the more expensive the bid needed to secure the Trader.

I know for a fact; that in the capital of the Ebonheart Pact (Mournhold), the price of acquiring/keeping a trader each week is in the millions for Gold price. However; for the Gold required to hold one of the "Prime" trading spots, the Sales at those kiosks makes up for what was spent to secure the Trader in the first place.

But not always, and thus some (not all, but some) Trading Guilds have a 2k-10k "Trader Dues" that a player must pay per week, and that helps generate the Gold necessary to ensure (though it doesn't always work) that those Guilds can most likely keep the same Trader week after week.

And it's these practices that led me to not make a Trading Guild, nor to charge any dues to the members of The Nightshade Consortium.

    Millions???!!! :open_mouth::open_mouth::open_mouth:

A light bulb just went off in my head. Now I'm starting to understand why people get upset with undercutting prices. They're not necessarily selling at ridiculous prices. They're selling to keep the store open. I'm sure these fees are quite high to offset the millions needed to keep one running.

What a mind-numbing way to run commerce. I suppose most MMOs run this way, foolish as it is.

I can definitely understand your reasoning for not putting yourself under that type of pressure, or put it on your members.
