I can´t see the connection between those i´m sorry.
DK does not need an execute with the dmg theoretically available for the class (see pve dps). It needs dot protection and a better way (reliable selfheal) to stay alive with offensive templates.
Aswell as a working gapcloser.

Kinda agree with you, but how do you close fights against actual skilled people? There needs to be an option to close the fight. And embers hitting hard <50% scaling down to 0 health would be a good heal too. Might be to much but just spitballin.
Would prefer an active hand in it but a dot combust would be proc chance, not cool.
Basic combat template, buffs/dps/closer. Name another class that cant do all 3.

I don't get the DoT protection bit. Maybe for magicka only? Stam DK burns people down so fast most don't purge, and if they are purging/healing, they aren't doing damage and your poisons will run them dry quickly.
It's useless against zergs, but that's true of alot of class abilities.
