As a DK which CP node benefits the health steal component from attacks such as talons and inhale; or the life drain attack from vamp?

Both, healing done for a skill that heals you will still increase the heal and healing received will increase the heal you do on yourself as well and also heals on you done by others.

So it would be best to split any CP I allocate them the same amount?

You can put 100 into both if you wish, they are on separate trees. One uses Red CP the other Blue CP

I always thought healing done affected push button heals such as vigor/rally/DB; and healing recieved affected things such as the life drains health steal weapon enchants etc. The wording made me wonder.
