Which set gives more damage to bomber build? Alchemist or Stygian - could someone do the math pls?

I am thinking of trying the bomber build with my mag NB (Vicious Death+Clever Alchemyst: Alchem bar: pop potion, summon shade, proxi det, lotus fan into zerg, kill one, vicious death explosion, soul tether (maybe add soul shatter passive into it too), teleport back to shade).

In one discussion about this build, a question was brought up, that if Stygian set instead of Clever Alchemist would not do more damage, than Clever Alchemist.

Could someone please do the math for me? I am very bad at math and do not know the formulas for that.

    Cloak is broken, so Clever Alchemist.

    Would depend greatly on your flat values for MM and SD for Stygian. Without knowing your build values for those no one can do the math for you. From what others have told me Alchemist is a better option though.

    well the thing is that this is only theoretical question now. My NB is only low level now, so she is work in progress now and this build is one of the alternatives for my future build.

    But anyway, what do you mean by abbreviations "MM" and "SD"?

    MM - Max Magicka
    SD - Spell Damage

    Best option is to use Clever Alchemist and Stygian. Then you don't have to worry which is better ;)

    And have absolutely zero sustain on a build that is already low on sustain.

    I've ran a Stygian Alchemist bomber before and it is a one shot wonder . Wonder if you will get a crit and wonder how fast you will die after exposed .

    You need sustain to stay in the fight . Necropotence and Alchemist is still better option for after the bomb .

    Recently I've gathered a Spinner Necropotence build and it is decent but not for bombing . The Spinner Alchemist gives some really big bomb pops but doesn't have the chain effect Vicious Death provides . It's all very situational based . How many are you fighting and how powerful are they ? Finding a way to dive bomb good groups maxed out is the key . More L2P testing is required for me .

    Stygian jewellery is farmed from chests in coldharbour / delve chests in coldharbour / vaults of madness chests;

    ZOS forgot about no anchors in coldharbour;

    there can be no anchors in coldharbor as the anchors are like vortexes or doors from coldharbor to our world (nirn), so that Molag Bal`s daedras can pass from their world to our world. So putting anchors to coldharbor, to connect coldharbor with coldharbor with them makes no sense :).

    but yes, there should be some moreother ways to obtain them then in coldharbor (or increased drop rate).

    Mundus and jewelry enchants can all provide sustain, as can the new magicka/magicka regen drink. It's all interchangeable.

    If you use regen Mundus and enchants you won't have enough damage to bomb through all the heavy armor wearing dpstankhealers.

    That would go for all builds. You're either getting the sustain on the armor, mundus, or jewelry enchants. With Stygian/Clever, you're probably getting more damage that mostly any other two sets for a mNB ganker, and you still have the option to add however much sustain you feel comfortable with.

    Running 5 light armor and using the magicka/magicka regen witches food should be plenty of sustain without giving up any damage for a gank build.

    Don't know, why someone should go sustain with a burstblade. On NB you can handle it with cheap preasure, big magickapool and heavy attacks with restro. Not working for duells but in smallscale viable.

    You would need to run Stygian and VD on your front bar, meaning you're losing willpower as well as Alchemist (~1000 damage unbuffed), also your prox wouldn't receive the Stygian buff. I can't see that being worth it.

    VD = Vicious Death

    I prefer these builds :

    Necro + Alchemist => no need to stay invisible to hit hard, but you need summon shadow
    Stygian + alchemist => you need te stay invisible to hit hard and farming stygian set is painful ?

    I dont like :
    Vicious death + x => you need to gank a group of people who are close between them to proc' Vicious Death... it is very hard nowadays.
