Magicka Users, how are you combating the proc meta?

Cc break fast enough to avoid their following attacks, shieldstack spam, and pray that their procs don't double proc, or in turn proc procs that proc the first procs because a 4 second cooldown is ridiculous.

Foolishly, I dueled a stamdk who went werewolf with selene and Jack of Ophidian Venom x5 (better version of viper). I had my 20k shields up when he went furry, and yet got one shot: howl, double selene proc and viper.

Oh and laugh at every failed attempt by said proc users to kill a squishy relic of the past that is mag sorc. Make sure that they know that they suck at wearing sets.

Not playing a mDK whose only option is tape down the right mouse button is a start.

Jesus Beaming anyone with a Viper/Velidreth setup at 100% health is psychologically satisfying even if ineffective.

Mostly PvEing (it's actually now not too bad) and waiting for update 13 though.

    By playing Magicka Templar.
As a cp381 it's tough fighting 2-3 max CP cancer build running stamina sorcs dks and nightblades, but 1v1 it isn't that big of a deal (except the tremor scale viper dks who run shuffle). Also, in Azuras(vet no cp) it becomes a lot more equalized and easier to fight cheese builds, but I've done a lot better with Magicka Templar than I have with stamina nightblade (not because I'm worse at it, but because I don't have nearly as many defensives or heals, different story completely 1v1 though).
Tl;Dr - roll 5 heavy Magicka Templar run desert Rose and valkyn skoria slot Jesus beam and melt the cheese.

Heavy Magplar with 2 Kena, 5 Kags, and 5 Vicious Death. I used to be giving the full double middle finger by running Malubeth, but with Kena I can selectively get some high burst damage when I want.

i embrace it. slot destro ult, wreck havok. 1vX became so much harder thanks to proc sets. 1v1 (and often even 1v2) I still have zero issues. scrubs remain scrubs. however, I can now dive zerg v zerg battles and leech 10 killing blows with the destro ult and sometimes get 20k AP in a single dive.

    on magicka, I zerg now.
If someone complains, we can still settle things in a duel (where proc sets and stamina are not nearly as bad as when you're focused by them in small scale pvp).

If I want true open-world solo play, I just log my stamplar.

Tell you exactly how I'm combatting it... tried every set I could think of, every combination of armor I could think of, every type of stacking 1 stat over another I could think of, etc, etc, etc... and after coming to the realization that no matter what magicka is just not on par with stamina in any possible way, light armor is crap, our damage is lower, our costs are higher, we have no pool of resource that we can use to CC break/run/dodge/block... today the ZOS gods blessed me with the Velidreth helm on the golden vendor to inspire me to finally bid farewell to my 3 main magicka toons until something is done to bring balance back to the force.

Exactly this. Templar healer, 5/1/1, Reactive, Transmutation, Malubeth. It's just about the only way to combat this stupid meta outside of stacking health to the heavens.

I'll remember to "just block" with my tiny stam pool, lack of stamina cost reduction and wooden staff. I'm sure all the incoming proc damage won't melt my face off. Good stuff man.

I'll give all you mages some proper advice. Use Grothdarr. Stam builds won't want to go near you, and if they do, it hurts like hell (I know, I've faced it before).
They'll probably try and range you when Grothdarr procs, so hit the S+B ulti and reflect all their poison injections. Seriously, for 100 ultimate it's so worth it (85 for sorcs). You also get free blocking for like 7 seconds which saves your stamina reserves. By the time your ulti is out, Grothdarr is probably ready to proc again... seriously, this thing procs every 5 seconds, it's beyond stupid. If you want to annoy Stam builds, use that set.
Alternatively you can take Mr Durham's advice and just hold block. I'm sure that will work out well for you.

Is the damage to grothdarr unblockable? RNGesus doesn't like me so haven't tried it yet.

My only real issue is all these tank/heal/dps specs Wearing heavy armor+proc sets. Medium armor users are pretty easy to kill with high pen and aoe damage (undodgeable) since they are rather squishy. From a light armor mNB pov.

The heavy armor block+ransack+tremorscale builds tough, they are annoying as hell ^^

Grothdarr damage can be blocked, but it ticks for a while. Most builds it is easier to roll dodge/streak out of it. It's kind of a catch 22 for mDKs... it makes people back away, but then it's harder for you to get back in range. If you can talons them right as it procs, it's pretty nasty.

I have become what i despise, a dual wielding High-Elf, vampire, animation canceling pirate hooker. At least I didnt switch to stam sorc! Magic Sorcs (who still pvp that is) are a bunch of masochists to still be out there in this freakshow meta.
Anyway my survival method has been to use a combo of different defensive postures, my favorite being the bend over and grab your ankles method!
Seriously though i go tri stat food and i dont depend on one method of survival, as an old school sorc you find many different ways to make it work.
If you can, use noobs as meat shields, trees and rocks are not the only LOS! Combine simple mechanics like block, interrupts and dodge roll with those OP shields! Tri-stat food helps with stam resource also try and grind out undaunted mettle for that sweet 5-1-1
I also got sick of wielding two staves so I went to dual wield or sword and board on my front bar.
This gives you the ability to roll with a jewelry set and two 5 piece sets which gives more resource and your ability to burst (dual wield) which can most times bypass that pesky stam heal. The sword and board you can go with for more survival, either on the front or back bar(back bar i would recommend Dark Exchange for a heal)
Lastly learn how to animation cancel, gives you that much needed edge!
You can for the most part still have fun in pvp land as a magic sorc just play smart get out there and represent! If you stop having fun do something else!
