Magicka Users, how are you combating the proc meta?

What are you doing to make the proc builds pay for their cheese?

Personally I just switched from 7/7 light to 5/2 light/heavy and am using Iceheart (the beautiful anti-proc proc set) Its a breeze now. (Unless I get ganked with shields down).

As a lifelong heavy armor user, I haven't experienced the proc sets being much of a problem. Just cc them then go on the offensive. Sure, outnumbered you melt a little quicker, but i don't go into an outnumbered fight expecting to win.

Only time procs have been an issue is when I get hit with an ambush+fear+incap+exec combo with a viper or veli procs in the middle. But I blame that on incap more than proc sets.

Iceheart gives you a 4K shield on a crit with battle spirit. That's about half of a viper crit or velidreth proc, I wouldn't call that 'punishing them'. I'm pretty sure they're actually laughing at it.

What are we doing to stop proctard builds? We're playing PVE mostly. Now you have two very dead campaigns and one that used to lock 24/7 that rarely does now.

So basically even the proc set users are even getting bored of proc'ing one another. Take that!

I'm having fun dueling friends, and when a proc stam build walks up and wants to fight, you just say 'no thanks lol'.

How magika has always countered crit builds. Animation cancel spam their 100% impen shields.

I think you're forgetting that viper and tremorscale are also affected by battle spirit, shields are uncrittable, hardy cp affects shields, and bastion affects shields. Iceheart doesn't quite soak up all of it but it mostly negates both procs. Its pretty hilarious.

Iceheart, Para Bellum, Brands of Imperium, Combat Physician for example. Shield procs counters Damage procs cause shield>crit.

PvP was my favorite part of ESO until skill was stripped from it. Now I am only running PvE content. There's little else to say..... PvP is horrible and disgusting right now.

So I've stuck to PvE, running group dungeons and Vet trials for gear and soloing the hardest group dungeons including Veteran White Gold Tower (which I posted on these forums). My next goal is to solo Veteran Cradle of Shadows, and yes Hard Mode Velidreth is insanely difficult solo.

That's what I've replaced PvP with.

So to answer your question, I've quit altogether until that disgrace to ESO PvP we call the Proc/Stam-meta has dissipated.

kinda a waste of a monster spot imo

Defending off-hand weapon for recovery when things go sour, then cc and pressure when I've recovered/repositioned and smack them with an execute when they get low.

I also pray that Selene doesn't double proc. Pretty sure it's bugged (2 selene procs in a death recap but only 1 viper proc, all the same person).

It's a 20% proc rate on any crit attack. 4k is nice for essentially a free cost.

Regardless, shields are so important for dmg mitigation.
Even a 5k shield can reduce a 10k attack in basically half (50% mitigation ). Of course CP mitigation and other dmg mitigation reduces the dmg first before hitting your shield, but for any build is easy to see why you slot a shield.

Yeah I'm not sure if its the best counter but its the one I'm using right now. After CP it is about 5k for me. You're right in that the set does look like a waste. So I like to think of it as 2-pieces of armor negating 5+ pieces of their armor, which helps me sleep at night.

keep trying to do something, sometimes it's funny to see the reaction of meta players when u killed them in 1v1
it's like : "wtf I got killed by a bosmer melee magicka nb, maybe I should use cost increase poison!"

I don't use dampen or harness but playing with mistform as main defensive skill, cleanse root/slow and reducing damage is really nice, go with some DoTs who can outburst their vigor healing and try to stay agressive, their 2h heal will be nothing if u force them to spam it.
take care when they prepare heavy attack, most of the time, DB coming just after...

I turned my Templar into a blazing shield tank. The hate whispers from 3 proc set builds calling me "cancer" are glorious.

I have always been bored to death with the standard destro/resto sorc style, so I've had to switch from 5/1/1 light to 5/1/1 heavy on my sorc, then drop 400 spell dmg and spec into blocking. I now sit at a very scary 1.5k spell dmg and am about as blocky as I can be without rerolling stam. It's a total gimp build, but the only way to stay up as a mag sorc without needing to spam my craptastic 6 sec shields that are half gone as soon as I bar swap.

Maybe I should get Fengrush to protest the under powered state of S/B mag sorc on stream?

By being smarter / better then them, I 1v2'd 2 guys wearing cancer sets, a stam sorc with proc sets and the other guy, a templar healer who was using the set that procs the purple beam( not sure what its called, and probably also had reactive on because he wasn't taking too much damage. I outplayed them several times, killing the stam sorc 3 or 4 times and ignoring his tanky pocket healer, I finally died when the stam sorc put negate on his bar

Bottom line, yeah proc sets are epic cheese and take most of the skill out of the game, but they aren't unbeatable, whether you play solo or in a group.

You need to front bar one shield and back bar another. Use the back bar shield if you're under pressure, otherwise front bar is enough.

You also need to animation cancel both shields to get 4 seconds out of them..

Lastly. The new destro ult is amazing against dumb zergs. I think I might respec to the ranged version though so I can shoot into it. They stand there and melt. Some of them dodge roll and still die. It's hilarious.

I messed around a bit tonight with a blazing shield build, mostly zerg diving to get a feel for the playstyle. 55k+ health, high health regen, major mending... heaven help you when you run out of stam or magicka tho, which is not hard to do. Proc sets were really not an issue. Most solo encounters with stam proc builds ended with them giving up. Unfortunately, I couldn't kill them either because they could just back of off and out-heal the damage. Perhaps if I had slotted Jesus Beam I might have finished one or two off.

While it was fun watching people run away, I don't think I liked it enough to invest in the race change, dungeon grinding, tempers and leveling passives to improve the build. But a magplar with something like 30k health with Troll King might be a good sweet spot.

Tomorrow I think I'll glass canon, light armor, destro/resto my mDK and see what happens. I'll probably get slaughtered.

Or... maybe I'll sit down and finally figure out C.U.B.E. while watching Civ 6 pre-load.
