What sets do the magic templars use to get the massive burst with the high sustain with duel wield sword and shield. And the stamina sustain to keep on breaking free. Thanks guys

Can you describe this massive burst?

Sounds like this is in CP. If it is, CP will actually do much of that work for you, if you have enough.

Amberplasm is a possible set. Kag's is another great one, if you're looking for sustain.

Are you sure this was a magplar and not a stamplar who used a few magicka skills?

If this was a big beam of light when you were at 20% health, I could narrow this one down. Aside from that anything that procs Burning Light is a good amount of burst.

I just switched to 5 Soulshine, 5 Spinners and Engine Guardian. It's exactly the same as my old gear lol, same sustain but a bit more damage against medium armour. It's all purple though, maybe if I made the weapons legendary I'd have a bit more burst but I honestly only feel a tiny difference from my Kags and Transmutation.

Templar's are just silly atm, just don't let them catch you off guard.

Sets are pretty flexible, though Rattlecage with Skoria/Willpower is a nasty new setup. Magplar burst is all about pre-buffing as much as possible then into Blazing Spear > medium weave > jabs. It's a beastly combo.

Beastly?!? By that do you mean bottom 3 burst damage.

Basically they gap close and burst you down instantly . When 3 or 5 players jump on them they take no damage

I'm glad our duel taught you something . Seems like starting off with blazing spear combo is a trend I've been starting. For massive dmg, stack all the dots before you go in for the kill. Vamps bane, ritual, entropy. Then blazing spear into jabs or soul assault

It's the most unreliable burst ever. When I see templar with Shards who wants to burst me down by spear stun followed with jabs+dawnbreaker \ soul assault, I just block it in the moment when Shards are in the air. Spear stun is very easy to avoid.

You just can't adequately burst if you a magplar, seriously. Looking what option magblades, magsorcs and stamblades have, I just can't call our damage "bursty". But that's a class feature, right?

MagPlars are hands down the best Magicka build in PvP. Nothing even comes remotely close to the way they combine survivability with being mandatory for any group to survive due to their heals and purges.

Spear stun goes through block though. How are you able to block it exactly?

Spear desorient goes, not stun. Desorient sucks coz you immediately breaks it.
