I received this lovely poem in my mail from one of my guildies today morning <3

P3OmsUw.png

This was after I told said guildmate about how some people just take you (in this case, me) for granted as a crafter, whereas other people send little tokens of appreciation, sometimes in the form of gold, sometimes in the form of roses or other flowers.

Just thought I'd share it here :)

Have any of you received anything so nice? I'd love to see it :)

Would you like to have Azura's Star
    Shoot Jesusbeams from afar
And be better off than you are...

Or would you rather be a fish?

A fish can't do anything but flop all about
He can't chat to friends can't scream or shout.
To confuse all of Tamriel is his only thought
Because it's so awesome it has to be bought

And so if that sort of game is what you wish
You may buy the polymorph to be a fish

This lovely poem was from @Runs to @SantieClaws =D The context was crown store wishes.

    Roses are red...

    Violets are blue...

    Both those "poems" are awful.

Boooooooooo to all you bad people arguing over what rhymes and what doesn't :/

The point is that it is the thought that counts, and the fact that someone would actually sit down and want to write a poem for you. How many of you ever received a personalized poem? It feels awesome to get one, no matter how good/bad it is!

Let's have a little more happiness over here and a little less cynicism :)

Lots of 'soft' rhymes for silver...pilfer immediately leaps to mind.

If you're looking for hard rhymes...it would have to be a proper name or a word like chilver that really isn't used in English anymore.

This PSA was brought to you by TPA. Tamriel Poets Association: "We can actually write poems".

Edit: Chilver is Middle English for ewe (Middle English is what Chaucer wrote in). Proper names Gilver, etc.

Well, the thing is ... I usually put in a huge amount of love and effort when I'm managing things with my guild and guildmates, it requires a hell of a lot of enthusiasm. It's always nice when someone returns the gesture, no matter how they do it :)

Haha, that was never the intention! Here, here's a little something for you to make you feel better:

    A bad poem, you ask?
    Well, I shall not acquiesce.
But that might be what you get,
For my mind is sometimes a mess.

For what is a rose without a name?
And what is a lotus if it doesn't have focus?
They have beauty and sensuality and purity and vitality,
Even if it all sounds like a lot of hocus pocus.

So you gotta take a bad poem or a bunch of
    flowers,
Or else you'll be waiting for many thousands of
    hours ....

That's awesome. I get paid to be a poet. And no, poems don't have to rhyme. But yes. He did rhyme. Just not the kind of rhyme you guys are used to lol. Not everything has to have an end rhyme.

Nah they don't have to rhyme, but it's less confusing to have consistency at the very least. Having half a poem rhyme then the other half not is a bit off-putting, which would be my only gripe. Still, it was a nice sentiment and the guy is obviously thirsty

    An ode to Lariana

There once was a fair maiden, from old Daggerfall,
Whose beauty compared to none at all.

Throughout the Covenant, all would know,
of her demeanour, and radiant glow.

Not a man that had passed her, could withstand,
the urge to take this fair maiden's hand.

    Suitors came from near and far, but she could care less for who they are;
for the one she once loved, was lost and gone; and thus, ends the fair maiden's song.
