So I stumbled across a thread while attempting to google any information regarding the "Unable to connect to game server. Please make sure you have a valid internet connection." crash my friends and I have been experiencing on xbox.
The title says the problem is solved. Even though there are pages and pages of reports (after the last ZOS post) saying that their attempt at solving the problem was
not successful.
I know for certain that this is not an internet issue on my end, not to the extent of my connection not being valid at least. As I am actively chatting with my friends on Xbox as I am being disconnected and can play any and all games in my collection that require a connection perfectly fine besides ESO.
After further research it would appear as though this problem has been persistent for console players since the console release. With bug reports dating back to June 2015.
Is there any information regarding the cause of this bug? Is this a server size issue? A hardware issue for console players?
For any would be ZOS rep I will include the information requested in the original post linked above.
Q: What platform are you on?
A: Xbox One
Q: What server are you logging into?
A: NA
Q: Have you been able to play before?
A: Yes, I use an Ethernet cord but have also attempted to use WiFi in this situation.
Q: Were you able to play after seeing this error?
A: Typically it requires a hard reset to get back on my character which lasts about 5-10 mins. Else, the "Unable to connect to game server. Please make sure you have a valid internet connection." message just pops up either at the screen where you select "Play" and login to character selection, or after selecting your character and attempting to load the game.
Q: Are you getting kicked from the game with this message or seeing it upon your login attempt?
A: The initial disconnect shows this message but as mentioned above it typically is being seen upon trying to log back into the game.
Q: Are you able to successfully log in on a different server?
A: Yes I have tried logging into EU and it is fine to login but I've not tried playing a character there for an extended period of time.
