    Stam DKs have Minor Brutality and stam refresh through their passives, on top of the best anti-ranged tool and great synergy with poison. Venomous Claw and Poison injection are very, very good DoTs in PvP. Molten is amazing for ganks or just plain ranged burst. Yeah, stam DKs might not be god mode, but they are certainly a very strong and harmonic build thanks to great synergies.

    Magicka DKs do need an execute, as they have barely anything uber going for them. Good AoE DoTs don't make them OP in boss fights. And every other class has an execute, so this isn't an exclusive thing, but more of a necessity for any build.
    Sorcs don't need a spammable, destro staves just need a big buff. ZOS in their stubbornness just refuse to admit that in this game, where ranged combat does not exist thanks to gapclosers, the weaker damage output from staves is not justified by melees having to get in close with higher damage.
    Temps are supposed to be healers, and they do that very well. Anything else they get from weapons or sets, so no need for built-in buffs other than healing.

    I play a ranged caster DK. I literally have 0 melee on my bar and I do quite well in solo PvP (i'm currently 23 in my campaign), so saying DKs are 'supposed' to be melee is not true.

    Templars are 'supposed' to heal and sorcs are 'supposed' to be magic users are what got us all into this mess.

    I don't think mag DKs need an execute at all, what they need is a skill that makes their DOTs uncleansable from one target. That would make them exactly what they need to be, awesomesauce dragons
    Tl;dr really weigh the fun you have in game vs the business practices you are supporting.

    Option 4: Convert Reflective Scales (and all morphs) such that it is a 20-30 second buff that grants a 25-33% chance to reflect all in coming projectiles with no limits. (I'd also suggest they reconfigure Eclipse and Defensive Posture for this). Next, because this skill can not completely shut down ranged attacks, they might feel free to give you an execute. I personally liked the heavy attack form of execute, but I can understand wanting something else. I also agree with @Astanphaeus above that I miss the 'flame cloak' and it is obvious they should have made it similar to the boundless lightning skill in my view.

    The devs where afraid that a dk channeled staff attack would be to powerful with molten staying how it was(RD cough cough) but failed to note that with no execute and slow burn playstyle this gimped the class horribly.

    If they wanted dks to move to a controller/healer class they could have buffed the control spells like ash cloud or talons with larger AoE and made standard of might targeted with a yellow cast spot circle. Instead they hung the "Under construction" sign and took the summer off.
