The last time i played my Magicka Dragonknight she was a vet3, then i went and leveled a MagPlar and had an absolute blast with it. Now that ive done the majority of the PvE content with the Templar i want to get back into my DK, but the class is so different from the Templar im having a difficult time dealing with mobs id usually down in seconds with my Templar.

What tips can you guys give me to kit my DK out as an effective DPS PvE build? Im lacking my Breath of Life ability so badly im crying, so having to deal with this squishy DK makes me need to rely on heavy damage output.

Its a Dualwield build btw.

    What I run for PvE:

    5pcs TBS
    3pcs Willpower
    1pc Kena
    2-3pcs Torug

    5-1-1 setup, all Divines

Inferno Staff front bar - Sharpened

    - Burning Breath
    - Engulfing Flames
    - Lava Whip - Force Pulse
    - Elemental Blockade
    - Inner Light

    Ulti: Standard of Might

DW back bar - Sharpened x2

    - Molten Arnaments
    - Eruption
    - Choking Talons
    - Draw Essence - Proxi Det
    - Inner Light

Ulti: Shooting Star (DW has more Spell Damage, so I prefer my main ulti here. Also enables me to rebuff)

    Gear
-> If only running in small groups / PuGs

Valkyn Skoria x2 OR Molag Kena x2 OR Molag Kena x1 + Torug helm or shoulder (depending on your sustain)
Julianos x5 OR Scathing Mage x5
    Willpower x3
Maelstrom inferno staff (both bars) OR Torug Inferno staff (if using a Torug helm/shoulder)

-> If running trials / groups with high Warhorn uptime
    Infallible Aether x5
    Twice Born Star x5
    Maelstrom inferno staff
    Maelstrom lightning staff

You can also pick the first setup, but use Twice Born Star instead of Julianos

All armor pieces with Divines if possible, Infused second, other traits are meh.

You can use Dual Wield on back bar, altho it's not recommended.

    Bar setup
    1. Burning Embers
    2. Flames of Oblivion
    3. Molten Whip
    4. Engulfing flames
    5. Inner light
    6. (R) Shooting star
    1. Eruption
    2. Elemental blockade
    3. Molten Armaments / Rearming trap / Chains
    4. Pulsar
    5. Inner light
    6. (R) Standard of might

Don't use Shooting star, unless you expect to have a Standard up until next boss fight (or if you want to finish a boss quickly and can't wait to have standard ready). You can swap Molten / Trap / Chains for Deep Breath for huge healing during trash fights (and extra utility with an interrupt). If using DW instead of Inferno staff, swap Pulsar out for Burning Talons.

    Extras
    • Use Thief mundus, add Shadow if using Twice Born Star
    • Standard Max health / Max magicka food
    • Use a 5L/1M/1H setup to get maximum benefit from Undaunted Mettle
    • Gold weapon is mandatory for high DPS
    • An extra build link for the extra detail on Champion points to use (among other useful info)

EDIT: Few details added since you edited your initial post.

Okay, let me clarify my desired playstyle, sorry. I want to mix my physical and magicka attacks, with my main weapon(s) being blades. Im also not within easy reach of much of the end game gear like the kena pieces n'such. I dont do trials, the most i do is PvE questing and Imperial City runs with my guild. Id like tips on a very basic but effective build, and i need to also state that my main crafter only has most crafting researched up to 6 traits.

My own attempt at the moment is a 4pc Hundings Rage, 5pc Ashen Grip, and 3pc Willpower w/weapon damage enchants while all armor has max magicka enchants. For weapons im using Charged Swords (lacking precise trait atm) but i want to dabble in ranking up my Sword and Shield.

However my biggest issue though is to figure out which abilities to slot that give me the most offensive DPS.

    Any new suggestions?

The issue you may have in getting any decent DPS is mixing your Physical attacks and Spells.
The 2 work off entirely different stats, so you are essentially nerfing yourself by going down a hybrid route.

If you want pure DPS numbers IMO you would be better to decide on either Magika or Stamina, and work from there.

This set of Magika skills alone should kill everything without much challenge -

    - Engulfing Flames
    - Burning Embers
    - Elemental Blockade
    - Molten Whip
    - Inferno
Pop your DOTs on the target then light attack weave with Molten Whip.

Stack Magika & Spell Damage with your armour and Jewellery.

Maybe check out 5 pieces of Julianos (6 traits needed to craft) http://elderscrollsonline.wiki.fextralife.com/Law+of+Julianos+Set

    And maybe 3/4 Magnus.

Ah, but this is not really a mag DK DD build then.

Considering how weak Hybrid builds are in terms of DPS, I would suggest avoiding attempting dungeons with one such build.

    So, basically:
a very basic but effective build
...Is just not realistically doable. I remember @Doncellius trying hybrid builds, but he'll tell you more about those.

You can build effectively as hybrid for tanking, but forget about killing stuff, you'd be happy to even manage to get half the DPS of a specialized spec.

All in all, a "for the sake of it" build.

I've taken some suggestions, as well as a few things I picked up through my other character and I'm bettered this character just a bit. Below is how she stands currently.

    zTkiYuK.png

Admittedly I don't have the Divines trait available for all my pieces, but even with a few Divines armor pieces, the sets that increases Critical chance, and the Thief Mundus Stone my Critical Chances are still much lower than where I managed to get them for my Templar. Maybe that's just cause not all of my pieces are Divines, not to mention my swords aren't Precise, I'm still researching the trait for that.

    The build right now is,

    5pc Ashen Grip
    --- 3pc Light Armor/2pc Charged Swords
    4pc Julianos
    --- 2pc Heavy Armor/2pc Light Armor
    3pc Willpower
--- All Robust w/Add Weapon Damage (too broke atm to buy spell dmg enchants)

    Main Bar
    - Flame Lash
    - Bloodthirst
    - Obsidian Shard
    - Flames of Oblivion
    - Molten Armaments

    - Take Flight

My second bar just has a Resto staff and a few healing abilities. I usually do this with all my characters as a sort of backup healer but for my DK my resto skill line is still unleveled.

Also concerning Champion Points, I've been capping their allocation at 35 each in most cases, cause I read that once you get the passive up to 12% it becomes wasteful to spend more. What do you guys suggest I do with my points? And where should I allocate them to get the best results?
