You take a bunch of damage from a combo, and before you can break free from the stun, you are dead. The passive magelight used to prevent a lot of it. But the current magelight is useless in that regard because you have to spam it.
I don't care if it's a toggle or not, but the old passive detection should be added back, perhaps activating it can extend the range to 12m and prevent re-entering stealth for 3 seconds.

I think it was a terrible change in my opinion. The old radiant mage light allowed a different arch-type of gameplay that doesnt exist anymore (ill explain). I liked to call it the anti-gank build.
The old RML gave you the ability to be a sentry for your team. It was always active but the biggest key feature that people forget is "other players did not know they were seen" (regardless of cloak also).
You had to sacrifice to double slot radiant mage light on any class. This was my favorite playstyle. I used to be the guy who could find any ganker and kill them. Somthing that is much harder to do (you need the Sentry set to achieve this now but it is not the same).
I understand the need for Inner Light to be a active ability since its needed for dps. However this new take on revealing abilitys is pretty lame in my opinion.
This may be biased but i really enjoyed the old magelight. I still use the new one but i cannot find enemy players without notifying them which sucks.

Hmm... From what your saying it seems;
For old mage light,
1. If an enemy player is hidden (ie: the eye is closed)
2. And you used mage light; you would see them but their eye would still be closed??
And under the new scheme, they get barred from stealth and its pretty obvious. If that is so, then I really do think the "eye not opening" after one has been spotted a little broken... I mean, the whole purpose of the "eye marker" is to let you know when your hidden..
My apologies if this is not what you meant and im talking gibberish lol =X

With the old mage light, you could potentially see someone without there own hidden eye changing. At that point it would depend on there detection radius.
When i used it, as a nightblade i could cloak up behind someone after ive spotted them and take them out. Only other players with radiant mage light would notice me. Which made ganking dangerous if you did not use it but also made the sacrifice to slot on both bars a hard choice to make. Either die to gankers with it or have better sustained fight abilitys for none stealth gameplay.
I understand the change. I will probably use the sentry set soon to go back to how i loved to play.
The comments on skill can run both ways, you are saying you want something to automatically protect you from an attack. Arguably that's using less skill.... Just saying.
