Has anyone had luck locating a non-DC location for either "Information Request from Emeric" or "Updated Instructions from Dortene?" Thinking these were on a gate (similar to the Pact ones I found at Ghartok) I went to check on my DC toon but did not have any luck locating them at Alma Ruma or Ni-Mohk. Eventually I'd love to have them on my AD toon to finish up Cyrodiil.

I think if you are in the alliance the alternate book locations only show up for the opposing alliances. At least that’s what I thought I heard. I still need to find the Aldmeri Military Orders and Reports Books for my DC toon. I only barely started looking but at a cursory glance I did not see them at either of the gates but when I was at the gate of Altadoon I only casually glanced and did not immediately see them. They could have been there.

They're at the gate, I found them myselves, follow lorebooks pins (and do it on a quiet campaign). there is book on to floors, some other a bit after the gate itself.

Awesome! Thanks for the tip. Next time I’m around here and he gate is open I’ll look for them. Is lorebook pins an add on? I’m on console unfortunately.

Had a feeling. Anyway, you were right. All the last alliance ones I needed for Aldmeri were there in and around the gate. Thanks as that completes the entire Cyrodiil collection for me.

Last one I am unsure of is “This is the End” from the Imperial Library Collection. Do you or anyone have any idea where it might be. Reading it seems to imply it is in the Imperial Prison somewhere, maybe in a cell.

Argghh still stuck with Order for Halskar in Eastmarch. The entrances to where it is supposed to be are still locked (after you finish the related quest), but I don't see it lying around "outside" near the area where you finish the quest.

Snowmead's Missive from the Notes and Memos category can be found where it is supposed to be located near the rock and tree near Fort Amol on the PTS.

I haven't been able to locate Pierced Note as of yet.

Hello everyone! I was wondering if anyone could assist me in locating the below 32 lorebooks. I play on the XB1 NA server so no book add-on for me :(. The below books are the ones that I am struggling with. I’ve completed all necessary quests that would be tied to them as well (which may be part of the issues I’m having) so I’m pretty stuck to say the least. Some of these I may have noted a general area that I believe they are in however, not been able to locate when going there. This discussion has been a big help the past couple of years when I started completing the Eidetic Memory (sitting at 3381/3622 now) so I’m confident you guys will be able to help out here.

    Clockwork Mnemonix:

A Sky of Dusk (Unable to access Evergloam after
    quest)

    Criminal Correspondence:

Taking Tolls! (Cyrodiil, Southern Morrowind Gate,
at the base of a bridge?)

    Daedric Cults:

                Glorious Upheaval (Cyrodiil, Imperial City,
    Memorial District, book stack?)

Here to Stay (Greenshade, City of Ash? Wasn’t
able to locate on a couple of runs)

How Long? (Greenshade, City of Ash? Wasn’t able
to locate on a couple of runs)

Thwarting the Daedra: Dagon’s Cult (Unknown
    location)

Time to Strike! (Cyrodiil, Gate of Ghartok, behind
    the gate?)

    Diaries and Logs:

                Captain Black Sword’s Journal (Unknown
    location, may be bugged?)

                Caught Him! (Unknown location)

The Guise of Woodcutter (Cyrodiil, Southern
Morrowind Gate, near felled tree by cart?)

    Hearts and Flowers:

I Count the Nights (Bangkorai, Blackheart Haven?
    Wasn’t able to locate)

    Imperial Library:

Minutes of the Elder Council (Cyrodiil, Imperial
    City, Imperial City Sewers?)

On the Tel Var Stones: Vol. 3 (Cyrodiil, Imperial
    City, Imperial City Sewers, center?)

    Letters and Missives:

Letter to Belya (Cyrodiil, unable to find after
    completing quest)

    Mysteries and Clues:

                Honored Ancestors (Vvardenfell, Veloth Ancestral
    Tomb, locked after quest)

Sun-in-Shadow’s To Do List (Vvardenfell, unknown
    location after questline)

Very Old Note (Vvardenfell, Veloth Ancestral
    Tomb, locked after quest)

    Notes and Memos:

Apologies to Uncle Neldatir (Cyrodiil, north of
Scroll Temple of Ghartok, near a lake?)

                Respectful Greeting from Am-Shadal (Cyrodiil,
NW of tower of Scroll Temple of Alma)

Snowmead’s Missive (Is this seriously still
bugged or am I not looking hard enough?)

    Personal Journals:

                Page from Sun-in-Shadow’s Journal (Vvardenfell,
    unknown location after questline)

    Plots and Schemes:

                Imperial Mutiny! (Cyrodiil, Imperial City?)

    Research Notes:

                Adainaz’s Journal (Deshaan, Darkshade Caverns
II? Unable to find after few runs)

    Tales of Tamriel:

The Year 2920, Vol. 27 (Cyrodiil, Imperial City,
    random bookshelves?)

Those Who Stood at Chalman Keep (Cyrodiil,
Chalman Keep, unable to locate here)

    The Devoted and the Deranged:

Introduction to Aedric Studies (Cyrodiil, Imperial
    City Sewers, Lambent Passage?)

The Faceless (Cyrodiil, Vahtacen? Unable to find
anywhere in or outside the delve)

    The World and Its Creatures:

                Unhallowed Legions (Cyrodiil, Imperial City,
    random bookcases?)

    Tamriel
Tome of Undaunted, marked as unread and not possible to read in the Undaunted camp

    Hew's Bane
Rhanbiq's Notes, Hew's Bane Bookshelves set, not available after quest, no clue where is it

    Eastmarch
Order to Halskar, Military Orders and Reports, not accessible, already marcked as bugged

    Reapers' march
Experiment Journal, Research Notes collection, not found in public dungeon in Reapers' March

    Tamriel
The Year 2920, vol. 26, any clues about location?
The Year 2920, vol. 27, should be in IC Bookshelves, but not yet found

CoA2, at the very end of the dungeon, after you finished the last boss, go inside and turn left.

Captain's Note in Firemoth Island. Can anyone tell me where to find it? I collect lorebooks on my pre morrowind character so I didn't start there. I believe there was a quest there but not sure if I completed it, probably did. I faintly remember not finding the lorebook whilst I was in the island. Where do you get the quest to go to the island as an existing character? And if you completed it, where is a boat to take you to the island again? I tried Seyda Neen and Vivec but no boats take there.

                Unhallowed Legions (Cyrodiil, Imperial City,
    random bookcases?)

On the Tel Var Stones, Volume 3 I did find behind a crate in DC. It’s one of the last rooms you hit before you get to the section hat takes you to the center.

Imperial Mutiny! I believe is in Northern Cyrodiil at the southern end of the lake where Ice Heart Home is located iirc.

Taking Tolls! Is at the base of the bridge behind the EP southern gate like you mention

I think it was either Page from Sun-in-Shadow’s Journal or her to do list that I found on a small island outside Tel Aruhn, I think to the west. It was a weird location but don’t quote me on this as I could be getting it mixed up with another book.

Apologies to Uncle Neldatir I seem to remember finding in the northern most portion of EP’s Southern Gate. I seem to remember it being on top of some falls at the top of the lake near a wall.

Unhallowed Legions, Introduction to Aedric Studies, and Thwarting the Daedra: Dagon’s Cult I think are random Imperial City Bookshelf books that randomly spawn. I found Thwarting the Daedra in Imperial City. I am missing Unhallowed Legions and Introduction to Aedric Studies myself but I also do not have Distributed Soul

This didn't seem to be the case for the books on EP side. I went back on my EP character to verify the coordinates to them back when I'd stumbled across them on my AD character. The EP character was able to see the books in the alternate location.

Interesting. I'd found The Year 2920, Vol. 26 on a random bookshelf in the Imperial City. If you found it in Craglorn it might be mixed into a set that's randomly placed across the world.

I think if you are in the alliance the alternate book locations only show up for the opposing alliances. At least that’s what I thought I heard.

This didn't seem to be the case for the books on EP side. I went back on my EP character to verify the coordinates to them back when I'd stumbled across them on my AD character. The EP character was able to see the books in the alternate location.

That’s good to know. When I hit Cyrodiil I will try to hunt for them then since my main is DC.

    My Missing Books:

    * Orders to Halskar (post quest)
    * Pierced Note (post quest)
    * Information Request from Emeric (Accessible to Aldmeri Dominion)
    * Updated Instructions from Dortene (Accessible to Aldmeri Dominion)

Halskar has no post quest location but I haven’t tried grouping with a friend who hasn’t done the quest to see if I can get into the barracks at Morvunskr where it’s at.

Pierced Note also has no post quest location nor can you group with someone to get it. It is however being given a post quest location with the Dragon Bones update.

The DC ones I will try to see if I can see them since I play DC and know the alternate locations show for given Alliance. I feel like they would be behind one of the gates.

    Thanks meesha.

I had the same feeling, but when I went to check out the gates on my DC character I turned up nothing.

I'm hoping that the team that fixed a bunch of the lore books will be making another pass over the missing ones in the next patch or two. I've seen Halskar's been missing for many. As for Pierced Note, I saw the 3.1.0 patch notes said they made this note visible but when I went to check on it on PTS using my post-quest character the area was still closed off. No note could be found outside or in the hide out either.

Yep, checked around the gates, bridges and temples in both gates and couldn’t find them either on my DC toon. I even looped back around to account for graphical loading delays which served me well at one of the EP gates for a couple books but that trick didn’t work this time.

Shame about Pierced Note. Hopefully when the update goes live they have it in there as well as others like Orders from Halskar which by the way I tried to get while grouped with a freind who hadn’t done the quest and you still can’t get into the barracks.

I tried that using a "crown" bite, it did not give me any quests line. Maybe if i try a "in game" bite insted :)
