People can dodge roll and regen, why cant we block and regen`? Hmmm? Sorcs can cast shield over and over and over and regen, and the list goes on, why punish blocking that much instead of just balancing it.
From what I saw in this thread, the best suggestion is stamina drains 33% more every time you block and then it resets when you stop blocking.
Very good suggestions here.
I hope they change this

I don't like that, it would punish players who try to defend against multiple players while in other situations you can just release block for a moment once in a while.
I like it how it is, you have to actually plan your blocks instead of just holding it non-stop.
I been playing since BETA, and I think the way it is its perfectly fine.
I remember all those permanent block DK's nucking everything in ther path, tanking +20 people like nothing. No thanks.
If you get the right build and know how to play, you wouldnt be asking for this. There are plenty of PvPers out there right NOW that can hold block for pretty long time and are real tanky, give them regen and no one will be able to kill them...
There for im agaisnt any kind of regen while blocking. If your having issues in 1vX beacuse of block, well adapt like most of the 1vXers streamers, game is not about holding block and hit like a truck at same time, its about movility right now and line of sight.
As long for shieldstack, thats a different point and have a easy fix => Shields should be able to get critical damage. (Like block users do..), yep it will nerf sorcerers alot, but hey why you can shield stack +20k shield uncritable and have a super glasscannon build...

So much for "the fix".

That is because the term" permablocking " was never accurate. It was an exaggeration thrown around by people who didn't understand the block mechanics and therefore couldn't properly counterplay. If you get wrecking blow spammed and manage to last 10 seconds without getting batted up into the air you can expect a "permablocking noob" hate whisper.

Sorry @Devilhand I don't agree with you at all. Blocknights were not OP because of stam regen - those were magDKs in full cloth. DK resource return mechanics and ulti generation were responsible for that problem. But in typical ZOS fashion they "fixed" what wasn't broken and obliterated lots of other viable/balanced builds in the process.
The current regen nerf is vastly more restrictive to Stamplars (me) than it is to DKs for example. The only time blocking is a legitimate option for me is when a Meteor is on its way, and even then it wrecks my stam management. Without bodies to Repentance, Stamplars are sitting ducks - no escape or mobility and crappy resource management. Blocking is far inferior to other defensive abilities and needs to be made more viable for everyone.

Hehe actually it was pretty accurate. There were a lot of players that were only not blocking when they were on a horse lol.
Obviously there is a limit now, but I still see a lot of sustained blocking nowadays.
