Why would we accept a broken product??

Non-acceptance means you don't play.
You don't have to, just play something else. ZOS doesn't have the engineering prowess to fix it, no matter how many forum threads are created.oxxalejandroxxo wrote: »Lava_Croft wrote: »Just accept that fact that they will most likely never fix the lag.

Most people won't and will move onto other games. If they don't fix, this will become a novelty game for a small niche market. You've already seen a mass exodus of people since launch. How many PVP servers have they merged? How crowded are the PVE questing zones compared to launch? A lot of my friends don't play anymore because they are tired of the same old linear type of questing and are tired of PVP vs Wall with terrible lag.
This game needs PvP battlegrounds, arenas, PvP minigames (2vs2, 3vs3, 4vs4 etc.), real leaderboards, ladder system, out of game rewards, tournaments, esports, and objectives. Whose tired of the same ol same zerg ball vs keep walls.
Take the damn no CP server that no one uses and turn it into a PvP minigame server open to everyone. Do what GW2 did and max level everyone and give max CP for PvP.
I've been quite busy with work and the like since TG has dropped. Went to enjoy some nice prime time PvP last night and boy was I surprised! Normally PvP during prime time is quite laggy, but usually playable for the most part. Last night I couldn't do anything at all. Enemy players weren't showing up on my screen, horses were invisible (people running super fast instead - was quite funny actually), being hit by abilities that I could not see, having siege on my death recap with absolutely no visible siege around (during an open field battle), etc.
From what I've gathered on the forums and talking to friends in game this is how it's been for the past week. Somehow ZoS has managed to make the lag even worse in PvP. This is as bad as 1.3-1.4 or perhaps even worse.
Edit;
I forgot to add that the pretty pink trees and tic-tac-toe ground is also very amazing. Not to mention sound completely cutting off for absolutely no reason at all.

But the company just gave a nominal amount of 1 million to a lucky player!!! What a weird business strategy it is!!! Why not spend the money to improve the game's pvp server to make it playable???

Ill keep my no CP server thanks. There I have to choose between higher dmg or more sustain rather than have everything.
This is one of the rare occasions I will agree with @Kris. ZOS just aren't capable of fixing the problems they have created. If they were, they would have done it already. Of course they would have. Instead we will continue to get a steady flow of Crown Store content and DLCs which are fundamentally broken. So long as people keep playing (and paying) nothing will change. When that stops the most likely outcome will be the game shutting down rather than them making any improvements.

It is so simple. The effort and the money that ZoS should spend to fix the lag will be more than what they will get back. The big problem here is that the base population of the game do not PvP and they are casuals. Sorry but this is the reality and people who are in charge understand it very well. I guess that ZoS expected a lot more PvPers at launch. They opened 10 campaigns and they even said that they are ready to open more. Most of this campaign were empty, then ZoS realized that the game's population is not so interested in PvP.

Massive 100+ players battles were no problem before ZOS started to let people who said they were engineers touch the game._adhyffbjjjf12 wrote: »i keep checking out the forums to see of the lag issues are resolved, I loved ESO bar the poor performance, but gave up about 4 months ago and returned to GW2 and having a lot of fun in wvw - no perf issues. Its a shame because i love the eso universe.
The reality of the matter is that occums razor applies here, the devs know about the issue and have done nothing for a year and the most likely reason is that the engine they bought and modified is not up to the job, and no amount amount of tweaking will address that,. There was a lot of concern prior to the release that the engine wouldn't cope, and things have panned out that way. If you look at mmorpg that have had performance issues historically (Conan, GW2, Wildstar) all have resolved the issues within the first year, which ofc makes perfect sense, its a priority.
