I totally agree with this, and feel that way about R/L beauty contests.
However, this I see as more of an art, creative, contest. Everyone has the same tools to work with to create a character. No character is born beautiful, by nature, they are in fact created by the human at the keyboard.
It's an even playing field, with everyone having the same advantages and disadvantages. It's an art contest.
