Won't work in update 7 any more.

I tried to get the reasoning behind the different behaviours, and what I came up with is that everything that does not in itself have the possibility to cause damage and only influences yourself won't break stealth, with only one notable exception:
Vigor doesn't take you out of stealth, thus it is the only heal in game that can be casted stealthed.
As to some of the other buffs that may seem to fall out of that categorizing:
- For hardened ward, it actually makes sense that you are taken out of stealth, since it will also affect your summoned pets. It is in line with other similar effects.
- Buffs lilke molten weapons, expert hunter and similar will have their damaging component only active, if you actively cast another ability - which then takes you out of stealth.
- Blade cloak (dual wield line) will cause reactive damage even if you do not do anything else - thus it takes you out of stealth.
While I agree with you on that, the current behaviour is consistent... the potential to affect is enough to take you out of stealth, exactly like mutagen, casted with no one around or any other heal.I tried to get the reasoning behind the different behaviours, and what I came up with is that everything that does not in itself have the possibility to cause damage and only influences yourself won't break stealth, with only one notable exception:

Interesting, thank you. I can see the Hardened Ward thing if you have a pet out. But if you don't-- no reason you should get unstealthed.

Dammit, good catch... Volatile armor does not take a DK out of stealth, even tho it is an AOE DOT(at least as long as you do not hit anyone with it), so there likely are more exceptions.

Both of those don't ever directly affect someone other than yourself, so they are in line with my initial guestimation.whiteshadow711jppreub18_ESO wrote: »I tried to get the reasoning behind the different behaviours, and what I came up with is that everything that does not in itself have the possibility to cause damage and only influences yourself won't break stealth, with only one notable exception:

Rally, the heal and Major Brutality buff ability from 2H does not break stealth as well..so Vigor is not the only one.
DoubleTake does not break stealth..
Another good catch. Considering we manage to sneak up on others by crouching, it is only fitting to assume that we can control our smacking to a level that will not allow detection.dwemer_paleologist wrote: »eating food takes you out of stealth also and its not spose to do that but it does, it should be reported.

Cos the caster got bad memory and had to stand up looking around to see whether the pets were out or not.
