Can someone please to me the lore behind the ice horse in more detail? How this follow lore of the TES games? From my understanding, summoning Oblivion critters only be done by train mages, not every Joe on the street and his mother. So ZOS, how can you that everyone has an ice horse from the planes of Oblivion and still keep it with estabish lore?
TBH, I don't like the fire horse or the stupid bear for the same reason I don't like an ice horse -- [snip] I still hate the idea in games that says: "if it can move, let us make a mount with it."
I can live with gold farmers, bugs, delay updates or server crashs, the quickest way to drive me and many others who love the TES game lore is to throw it out of the window. Lore SHOULD always go 1st.
I agree, completely. Bethesda has usually been very good with this sort of thing; I can only hope that Zenimax learns from mistakes. The extreme liklihood is that they are using them as money-sinks for us gullable idiots. The rest of the items of the items in this preview looks cool and I am digging the Gothic dress. It is / will be hard to over look lore mistakes like fire, ice and bear mounts. Worst case, I can wait for BGS who is the true master of TES games to make TES 6 and respect their lore. ESO is a spin off game after all, I am still loading out hope for it in the lore department. If ZOS keep breaking TES lore, then ZOS will force me to leave ESO.
Can anyone ( I hope ZOS can) help me with my lore concerns? Thanks.
You're not alone. It was like this with me when I played LotRO on the dedicated RP server Laurelin - so many things were lore-breaking, eventually culminating in me leaving because Turbine went for buck against book.

Guys, guys come on. If it's really that concerning to you about lore-breaking then why are you playing? Plus, if you think about it, I'd rather they throw in all sorts of skins and costumes in the crown store rather than B2W items that become game breaking and really ruin the fun for all of us. I mean, they need to make money somehow in order to support patches and server maintenance, since there is no monthly fee anymore. So either you choose they keep putting items like this in the store (which I think are quite catchy) or they put B2W options that become game-breaking.
Yes, as long as the characters are on the same server. Items don't transfer between servers.kevingascon69ub17_ESO wrote: »If I purchase these items on one character, am I able to use them on the another character in the same account?

Lore went out the window the moment they decided to have a "chosen one" storyline in an MMO setting.
How about some new content instead of this junk? Over half a year nothing new and no murder and stealing is not really new content but then what the hell this gae is just a placeholder for when EQ next comes.

The single most important question worth being addressed is left uncommented. I heard there is a Loremaster. Or was there? @ZOS_JasonLeavey

There is no reason it should exist. We had this discussion before, and somehow decided that it is a normal horse that has been fed some kind of Frostsalt diet or potion over a period of time.
It's not the first time the community has to come up with lore-appropriate explanations, but in this case it feels unsettling because it's such an obvious cash-thing. Some word from Lawrence Schick on this would be great, though.

Just in case you missed the lore explanation...
With its icy gaze and steaming breath, the frigid Frost Mare seems carved from the very glaciers of Skyrim. Its exact origin is unknown, but the Mages Guild believes it may originally have come from Takubar, the plane of origin of Cold Flame Atronachs.

That is half of the answer to my question, then can @ZOS or MR / MRS @nimander99 can explain how every Jon and Jane Doe can ride ice or fire mounts? True, that TES is a magical world, however, not every common person *KNOWS* magic or even like magic -- Orc, Nords and Redgrauds, for example. To dig a little deeper, Khajiits can learn magic, but the race is not bless with Magicka gift like the Mer (Elves) are. So a lot of (most?) of the race does not know magic as a natural as some other races (like the Mer Races) can.
I am waiting for a good lore reason why we have bear mounts, can @ZOS or MR / MRS @nimander99 show me in game book that explains this concern as well?

Here is a decent explanation (imo) as they come from Takubar, the plane of origin of Cold Flame Atronachs, they could very well be as numerous as the thousands of atronachs that everyone used to grind in Spellscar. Also, since they will most likely be 25$, not every person that plays eso will have one, I would imagine they will be as used as the Nightmare mount is, which is to say, not much :P
nimander99 wrote: »Edit: Don't forget that the Snow Prince spoken of in Morrowind rode one of these mounts into battle against the Nords for years.
