Ya i gotta say i dont know who exactly thought this was a good idea. having a patch that 15GB is terrible, not only do we have to wait, but that also means people cannot play the game. im sure most people playing are working adults, or possibly teenagers with a job, and as such dont have that much time to play. So this could be one of there days off which is ruined by such a long patch.

For me personally i dont really mind. i can do other things, but for some this might be there only time to play and i dont feel like that is right. Hopefully future patches arent this rough, but i have my doubts!

I am going to write a letter to ZOS demanding that they contact each and every one us when planning down time, and schedule things accordingly, so that it doesn't interfere with our busy lives. I'm outraged that I was forced to play Borderlands II for a couple hours this morning!

What about those that have a download cap? Guess I'm waiting from a nasty gram from my ISP, and hope I don't get disconnected.

I just dropped in to say I got home from work, fired it up and immediately started downloading at max speed and halfway through on pace to finish in 80 mins for the whole thing. Some of you need better internet methinks.
Mate its 2015, 99% of people in this thread could normally swallow 15gb in an hour or 2, so its clear you just missed the slow down of sonys servers, and as more people begin to finish the faster it will be for other such as yours which you just started.

Pages upon pages of people acting like this was the worst thing ever - most of us were at work. I highly doubt there is anyone who will wait 33 hours. So this is essentially much ado about nothing. The usual critics moaning loudly whenever given the chance. As usual.

STOP THE ANGER TRAIN I NEEDS TA GET OFF!

Lol guys and gals i normally jump on the anger train with things like this but seriously i think there is alot more to this than meets the eye.

We are expecting update 7 and imperial city very shortly this patch may just be laying the ground for all of it behind closed doors.

Except that it's not, if you read the patch notes it's just bug fixes and UI updates.

Welp, they rescheduled the server maintenance planned for tomorrow to the 29th, which is a little relief. I'm at 32 (or so) minutes left of the download and I have no idea what my hubby's PS4 is at (it's upstairs on wifi LOLOL) but hope it speeds up for you guys as well. <3

Quick tip for those changing there DNS; make sure you find one in your country or else you can actually end up slowing your speed. Theres loads of lists available via a quick google for ones within your country.

The only difference here is ZoS failing to admit they made a mistake and actually apologize for it instead of trying to spin it as necessary.

Personally, I don't care about apologies. What I care about is that they don't do it again, and they said they would not. If they don't do it again, I am happy. No amount of apologies will reduce the size of the current patch that I have already downloaded and installed.
Earlier today, we successfully released our first incremental patch on the PlayStation 4, which was 15GB in size. We understand having to download such a large patch is frustrating and not ideal, and are actively working to ensure future ESOTU PS4 patches are not cumulative.

    On a related topic....
Ok guys/girls I'm not the most technical minded however I was reading through the forum and saw a comment about finding a DNS trick to increase D/L speed and ...

It's not the worst thing ever. I am a bit disappointed that the patch didn't start downloading when it became available. I had left my PS4 in rest mode just for that purpose. other games do it like GTA V DA : I for example.

My download only took 1 hour, I have pretty amazing Internet though. I couldn't imagine having to reinstall all the previous updates including the new update (900mb), almost 16gb of *** on slow internet. Some people I see have 30 hours left on their download :(

Wait till Imperial City, Thieves guild, Dark Brotherhood, Clockwork City, Murkmire, etc etc come out as well as the overwhelming amount of data for those seperate PATCHES and the 15+GB incremental patches thats supposed to fix something but creates a bug somewhere else.

Wow, just wow, i started downloading yesterday early afternoon right after maintenance, i have lunch, do lots of stuff, have dinner, go to bed, wake up at around 5am and surprise! 9 gb out of 15 gb with 20 hours left, great... Oh and before you say anything about my internet, i got a 100mbs connection contract with my internet provider. ZOS you are so freaking lucky i dont have a data cap... I cant even... I just cant... Its like waiting for the whole cake to be done when all you want is just the little cherry on the top... aka the 500mb, the actual patch...
I love when i get to download 15gb of worthless data just to get the 500mb patch, its just like waiting for the whole cake to be done when all you want is just the little cherry on the top, hmm Yumi!

You are right.. i changed my dns to google(8888 / 8844) and it actually slowed me down..then i just gone back to isp dns and then continued with expected speed (14 hours left for 5 gb).

Do we know if this is sony problem or not? I have downloaded FFXIV in 1 hour but eso needs so much time..or i was just lucky with ff?

I literally had to delete *** I didn't want off my PS4. I hope this doesn't become the norm, cause I'm thinking of getting rid of ESO already. I spend more time trying to get your game to work than playing it and unlike some of the twelve year olds that get this game, I am 21, work full time and have other important things I need to do, so I don't get much time to play and definitely don't want to wait 6+ hours for updates. I'm sure there are other people that love playing video games as much as me and are just as busy, but get a limited time to play them. You could argue that I could just go out side and hangout with friends, but I work third shift, so there is nothing to do at night where I live except look at a progress bar.

Being honest I think it's a joke that the file is 15GB and they should have thought about that before releasing get it as alot of downloads happening and it is taking me 11 hours on 30mb down speed.

I feel very much for you, its very understandable, the problem is there are a lot of 12 year olds around in the forums, and if iam not mistaken they must be on summer vacation by now (i think, my sister is at least), so they get to act like its no big deal... When in fact most other people dont have the time to download 15 gb of worthless information just to get necessary 500mb, which btw iam still downloading since yesterday early afternoon, and its now around 7am here, so ZOS, thank you for rescheduling the maintenance, but it doesn't look like i will be able to play today either...

Mine was d/l all night. Checking this morning it still said another 9 hours. I paused and restarted and it's now 70 mins. This is still unacceptable at today's level of current tech. My 15gig download on fibre has taken about 16 hours in total when it should have take around 90 minutes taking into account the PSN network. Having to use the pause/resume trick is a joke.

I realise it's not the end of the world but it's annoying to see people posting and bashing those who are quite rightly complaining. And this patch is cumulative. Doesn't that mean it's the latest patch and all the previous ones you've already downloaded? The actual new data is less than 1gig which would have taken a few of minutes for those on really fast connections.

I was set up for a few hours of gaming last night between my reallife commitments. Even got some beers in. I did find something else to do in the end which included going out in the fresh air. So it does annoy me to see all these sympathisers coming out and bashing the legitimate complainers. This kind of thing is really unacceptable and we are entitled to be disgruntled and we are entitled to show that we are disgruntled.
