There's that and like, 4 others you could do, but the other 3 require a lot of leveled up skills and PvP as well as VERY specific gear, whereas the one linked can have compromises in gear, so long as Hunding's Rage is involved.
Bobbity Boop, this game might become poop, but I'll still play because I'm just a pile of goop!

Since you started, I am assuming you are a low level. Builds do not become notably fleshed out until higher levels because of a lack of skill points and skill experience (for skill morphs) at lower levels. As a Stamina Templar, the build I have used in PvP and PvE respectively are:

    5 items of Willow's Path
    3 items of Ashen Grip
    3 items of Footman

Sharpened Greatsword with a Hardening enchantment.
Rally, Executioner, Biting Jabs, Toppling Charge, Radiant Aura, and Flawless Dawnbreaker for the Two-Handed bar.
A Sharpened and Defending sword for the backup weapon (Weapon Swapping is unlocked at level 15)
Unstoppable, Quick Cloak, Flying Blade, Blazing Shield, Radiant Aura, and Empowering Sweep for the Dual Wield bar.

    5 items of Hunding's Rage
    5 items of Ravager

Sharpened Greatsword with a Hardening enchantment.
Rally, Executioner, Biting Jabs, Wrecking Blow, Radiant Aura, and Flawless Dawnbreaker for the Two-Handed bar.
Backup weapon can be anything. I usually use a sword and shield for better survival, or dual wield for a bit of ranged (Flying Blade) and addition area of effect attacks.

    Attribute Points are:
    0 Magicka
    40 Health
    22 Stamina

More detail is a little pointless considering much of the items I have available you do not. Try out some of the ability bars I have mentioned and find out what you like to use. As a note for the aspiring DPS, Biting Jabs and Wrecking Blow are your strongest single-target attacks. Biting Jabs has some area of effect to it and relies on chance procs to deal extra damage, but it can deal more damage than Wrecking Blow.

The abilities I listed above are morphed, and yours are probably not. I will do my best to recall each ability's base name.

Momentum, Reverse Slash, Puncturing Strikes, Focused Charge, Restoring Aura, and Dawnbreaker

Immovable, Blade Cloak, Hidden Blade, Sun Shield, and Radial Sweep

    Uppercut

Not too sure about the attributes, would change switch the numbers as templars have access to self heals which are tremendously strong even when not specced into it.

Also, ashen grip and night silence are good starter craft sets. And they are also within the first zones. Other than that the rest seems awesome.

This setup has worked fine for me in endgame DPS and tanking. I rely primarily on regeneration, as seen in the combination of Willow's Path and Radiant Aura. The heals are still powerful even with nothing in Magicka or Spell Damage, but my regeneration is good enough to keep them coming. Also, in the builds above there are no Templar heals in use, so Magicka isn't much needed (Toppling Charge, Blazing Shield, and Radiant Aura).

Oh im not questioning whether this is a good build or not just the viability of it being a starter levelling build as the op has said. Having more health, while good, would not allow the op to level optimally, which ib this case to kill as fast as possible while staying alive.

As such, imo I would recommend that the op starts off with more stamina than health since templars has access to healing spells that will also double up as a way to level the resto skill line of the templars. And while he can get his gear through guildies and trade, it would be best to introduce the op to crafting stations and allowing him to craft within his means.

But your build, as an endgame build is awesome, in fact I might just make my Templar go stamina after playing magicka for so long hehe. Cheers!

If you want the specifics, I'd be happy to share!

And I see your point in it being a levelling build. I agree there. When levelling I put attribute points into what stats I ran out of / used the most, focusing on staying alive. At where I am now I have begun optimizing what I ended levelling with. Since I play multiple roles I will never be fully optimized for any specific role.

    Templar question then:

Does wrecking blow increase the amount of balzing shield, ie is it the shield or damage increased via wrecking blow proc?

What about Biting Jabs? Does wrecking blow increases the amt for the whole channel attacks or just on the initial 'jab'?

That's not how Blazing Shield works. It creates a shield equal to a set percentage of your HP, and the damage enemies do to you is returned in a small AoE explosion set at 50% of whatever you soaked up. The damage you do means nothing at all. Also Wrecking Blow increases the damage of your next attack that isn't Wrecking Blow, so it's better used for Heavy Weaving if not all out spamming, and it should in theory increase the damage of your Blazing Shield proc when it goes off.
