Is root intended to respect CC immunity?

So, I've noticed a weird quirk: on my DK, I am able to reliably talons mobs and players even when they've got the swirly CC immunity effect. However, on my sorc, encase fails to connect while targets are CC-immune.

Is this intentional, or is one of the two skills bugged? Does anyone have data on other roots to suggest which of the two is working "properly"?

    Roots are soft CC. They are not effected by cc immunity. Encase has poor firing speed, problems with elevation and other various quirks I don't feel like listing. Encase is bad talons is good that's the real difference.

    Just to give a bit more detail, roots and immobilizes are (for some debatable reason) not considered CC by the game, so you can chain-root or chain-immobilize both mobs and other players. Many people have questioned this decision, but it has been this way since the game launched.

    Encase is buggy and hard to land. You SHOULD be able to chain-root with it, but the hard part is actually hitting someone with it.

    Haha said DK for sure... Im not saying that taloons should be affected by cc immunity, but if they are not, the other roots shouldnt be to.
