So my subscription has 2 weeks left. Last plea for a better ESO+.

I bought the 6 month subscription twice and now I have 2 weeks left and I still want to subscribe but I'm having a really hard time justifying it.

The 10% bonuses really don't interest me and it makes more sense to buy the $40 pack of crowns whenever I need 'em.

I made a thread with suggestions a while ago HERE. It had all sorts of suggestions that included mechanics and features that are not yet part of ESO. The ones that I think are vital to a subscription, and are reasonable to ask for, are:
  • Crown Store discount
  • Additional Character slots
  • Priority Queuing in Cyrodiil
  • Greater Character Deletion Limit
  • Grant more Crowns per month.

I've actually given up the crusade to get DLC as loyalty bonuses but it would still be nice, as some of the other suggestions in my thread would be, such as monthly treasure maps and early access to Crown Store items.

I feel I need to clarify that I would not use the additional Character Slots (I only play 3) I do not regularly delete characters, and I don't play in Cyrodiil (yet?). The $15 a month is negligible to me. These additional benefits would keep me subbed out of principle. It would make me feel like subscribers are getting something for their money. Especially the Crown Store Discount.

If I'm not spending $15 a month on ESO I WILL just spend the $15 a month on another game. I never did play WOW. I've been thinking of trying FFXI again, or maybe FFXIV.

The point is I WANT to pay the subscription, but I just can't justify it with the current ESO+ benefits. If I don't pay ESO's sub... I'll pay another's. If I pay another's, I'm playing THAT game and not ESO. If I'm playing that game, how can I be in Tamriel buying stuff from the Crown Store.

I would still play ESO because I care about Tamriel. I care about the lore. I have grown up with The Elder Scrolls. It's a part of who I am. Those other games are not.

So, with 2 weeks left of my subscription, I again feel the need to plead with ZOS. I want to give you my money... I just don't want it to feel like charity.

I am 100% willing to resubscribe ZOS! I Still want to be a subscriber and will resubscribe if ESO+ is ever expanded to include other benefits, or when DLC is released. I will continue to be a player and a fan of ESO and a soapboxer on the forms!

I only play PvP imagine how i feel for my sub. No content and half the things they sell in the store such as pets are completely useless since you cannot even have them out in Cyrodiil. Now that they have also ended the loyalty program i really do consider my self an idiot for renewing my sub.

It blows me away that ZOS has designed it so that customers feel like idiots for subbing and feel like the subscription is akin to charity.

I really wish the Community team would share our feedback with those who are making the decisions about these sorts of things.

I hope someone reads this and makes a change. At the very least, a public commitment to start treating subscribers better (starting with something as simple as allowing subs to opt out of spam) would be nice. I hope this thread stays open and I hope someone from ZOS reaches out to you. After Saturday's debacle, I've logged far less time in-game than I have since starting to play. Makes me sad because I love the game. It's just harder to play since Saturday.

It seems like ZoS has given up on a quality product, that is why the game is f2p tracked now. They expect to make their money off of wedding dresses, flaming horses and other novelties for the terminally bored. I say good luck to them, they'll certainly need to get someone else's money that way, cause they're not getting mine. I'm still holding out a glimmer of hope that something will come out of this that I will be motivated to pay for (and support a quality game), but every move they make seems to be in the opposite direction of improvement.

I think the answer is yours. With all the reasons that have exposed an alien response is not required. ZOS not need warnings or prayers of each unsatisfied user.

The proposals have already been made and it is more than obvious that they are aware of each and every one. I recommend not to renew your suscription, take some time and see if TESO favorably evolves according to your needs.

Do not leave in the hands of other decisions that should be only yours.

    Greetings!

As much as i hate ultimatum threads, I feel the need to agree. My sub feels like something I wouldn't miss, when it should be a serious help. Basically, if I don't have a sub, I'm not buying packs of crowns. I'm not contributing anything monetary to this game past the initial purchase. I'm no financial wizard, but that's... bad. I have the money, and the desire to spend it, as long as I don't feel like I'm wasting it. Give me a good reason to give you money, Zeni. It's the easiest sale you'll ever make.

Yeah I just canceled mine too. You get crap exp in pvp anyway so the 10% bonus is basically nothing. I really have no interest in the crown store items. The only way I would resub is to get access to DLC ...MAYBE...

I too would like additional benifits for subscribing that's worth more as he was saying pets are useless they don't help you out they are just pointless and I refuse to buy any more pets and what good is 10 percent Bonus when you already get nothing for experience and gold what's ten percent of nothing well that would be nothing right and subscribers should not have a limit on how many characters they can delete that's rediculous and now with out rewards like loyalty system you tell me why people should sub to your game and support it if your not going to show some thanks for sub scribing me my self I subscribed for another 6 months cause I want you to keep the game running and fix things you should give discounts on things in crown store for subscribers at least 25 to 50 percent since we are the ones that will be supporting your jobs and keep you in business longer trust me I know people are cheap and don't want to subscribe that's why you should give back to those that do subscribe and show them you want them to stay and keep subscribing other wise people are gonna get wise to this kinda stuff and your gonna be loosing money and we all know at the end of the day it's all about the money for and company and business or you wouldn't be making this game and with out players paying your salaries you won't have a job this needs to be addressed for the fans and for your sake but much love for the game couple of *** ups after launch but I'm hoping you guys get your ducks in a row and at least make it look like your not just trying to make everyone look like a bunch of fat horkers for buying a subcription

I too hate ultimatum threads @Auricle.

It bothered me to write this one. I think that's why I felt the need to say that I wouldn't exactly use the benefits on the list... It really isn't a matter of "give me this or I'll quit" its a matter of "I don't want to quit, please don't make me feel like I should".

Personally I see more senche striped tigers, senche leopards, imperial horses, nightmare coursers, costumes and pets that issues post in forum, so I think the pseudo extorsive strategy to unsubscribe if you do not get what you desire has to take no effect.

Further evidence of this is the time that are being taken to add content to the store and the care of these objects. There are not desperate, they know that there are things to improve but obviously still holding the reins.

I believe that as users should make their own decisions and learn to live with the consequences. When one speaks of loyalty or passion, bring the money as factor through is nonsense.

One is not loyal for convenience, it is by conviction. One not feel a passion with the wallet, feels with the heart.

If you are not convinced and feel that money weighs more than the heart, then it is time to look away.

Completely agree with the OP. As it stands, I personally have a really difficult time justifying the ESO+ subscription.

Nothing in the Crown Store interests me, so 1500 Crowns per month is totally negligible.
Percentage bonuses are completely "iffy" at best, especially for VR1+ characters
Percentage bonuses are also dependent on how much playtime you have (and I work full-time+ so not a lot of playtime)
TL;DR - If you got this far without reading the entire post you're either too lazy or suck at reading comprehension and probably don't belong in a public forum anyway. Just move along, you wouldn't understand.

@Gidorick - Yeah, I figured your intention was pure, and I agree with your sentiment. It's not a super flashy issue that people can get really rant-y about, but for the longevity of the subscription concept, it's something Zeni should pay attention to. After all, it's extra revenue, and we all know how important that is.

I just don't want the staff to ignore threads like these because all the comments are whiny and close-ended, y'know? :cookie:

You do not need to spend the crowns now, you can save it for future content.

Regarding the experience bonus you are wrong. This is a percentage, you play a lot or a little bonus percentage is the same 10%.

If you play a lot of time, you do a lot of experience and receive a bonus of 10%.

If you play not a lot of time, you do little experience and get a 10% bonus.

The bonus is just as effective in both cases.

I know you can "save" the Crowns. My point is that if the offerings available aren't attractive (or don't progress in any way toward this) then it's a really moot point.

As far as the percentage bonus- you know what I mean. Those who spend less time playing get less out of it. Period.

Spin it however you want- but it's reality.

If indeed you play little, for more small are the bonus regarding increased level, for you it's much since each small game session without that bonus, you earn much less. The percentage bonus is therefore pays equally no matter how you play.

I'm in the same boat with OP....coming up on end of 2nd 6 month sub. I also plan to cancel my sub. ESO+ offers nothing I view as a great benefit. In fact, the 10% experience bonus is kind of a pain for new toons, since I constantly out-level the content just doing normal questing. I'll still play, but I'll review my options when (if) new content comes out.

The 10% exp bonus makes little sense for most people.

If you're new, why would you want to rush through the content? Generally the progress through normal questing, etc, is that you're already a few levels above the mobs you're fighting. 10% exp increase will only make this situation worse.

For someone who's already reached max level, and trying to push an alt through to the end game - what end game? Not much going on there.

The only value I can see is potentially for a PvPer trying to rapidly level an alt. Even then, you have to play through many of the quests to get skill points.

I'm 2 weeks away from my sub ending, and I'm considering not re-subbing as well. I've been subbing from day one, and I just don't see any purpose in continuing. The only thing I'm trying to consider is how cost effective it will be to use crowns for new content rather than subbing. The thing that really bothers me is that if I sub for 3 years non-stop, I've paid hundreds of dollars to ZOS but as soon as my sub ends, ALL downloadable content gets reverted to as if I hadn't paid a dime. That is a real kick in the jewels. No loyalty rewards at all.

    @Gidorick

ZOS had repeatedly borked the payment on my primary account and unsubbed it. When I wanted to switch the other account to 6 months, that option wasn't available any longer (we now know that it wasn't due to lack of popularity, as given as initial reason). That frustration broke the proverbial camel's back and I unsubbed the second account as well. As a symbol of support, my friend unsubbed as well.
A few days later, B2P Unlimited was announced. I felt lucky that I was unintentionally prevented from spending money on 2 6-month, or even 3-month, subs.

We decided to use the break to visit other lands & contemplate coming back once the game was F2P for us (obviously we already paid for the boxes for ESO 1.x).

Ever since ESO V2.x my friend and I have been back, sub-free. Neither of us have looked back, we're having a blast. Despite the fact that we weren't eligible for the last loyalty reward due to my sub problems, we haven't put anymore money in and we do not see anything that would justify paying for the 2.x version. Neither the crown store nor the perks for Plus even approach being value for money. We still feel ESO V1.x, as it used to be touted by the big-wigs, *was* worth a sub.

We love ESO and would have liked to continue to support it, but unfortunately we do not feel that ZOS has earned our support, both in regards to customer treatment and change/crisis management as well as the direction in which they are taking the game.

We made a conscious decision to vote with our wallets. Each must decide for themselves but I don't think ultimatums are the right way nor do I think they will work.

Good luck to you & I hope you can still get large amounts of enjoyment from Tamriel.

I only want one thing from my subscription - they can toss the rest:

Put subscribers on a priority server of their own, don't spam it with advertising, keep the F2P people off of it, and give me the most lag-free experience I can get.

Give me that, toss the rest for all I care, and I'm a very happy subscriber.
