I honestly don't think this is going to effect the motif economy very much (not unless they change the crown prices for motifs or change the drop rate for them, anyway), so I'd say just keep doing what you've been doing. I'd think that most players who were in the market to buy motifs would still prefer to buy them using gold rather than real money anyway. A minority of players will use crowns to buy them, but I strongly suspect that most won't.

They are obtainable ingame, and therefore a convenience item. For those without the time (or the will to make the time) to go ingame and find these motifs, the Crown versions are for them.

I prefer to feel like everything is earned, not given. Hence I do not use Skyshards (Add-on) nor any other 'cheat-sheets.' I also prefer to fight dungeons blind, but this can be difficult when at least 1 out of 4 party members are experienced in the dungeon and likely cannot bear to watch the party wipe repeatedly. If the experienced player(s) do respect the desire to run blind and can tolerate multiple (avoidable) wipes, the experience is still lacking as the experienced player(s) will refrain from joining the problem solving discussion since doing so has a high risk of "spilling the beans."

But I digress. I want to feel the satisfaction of finding a motif book in a rotting drawer more so than acquiring said motif.
(I also have a character that knows almost all motifs)

The rare motifs shouldn´t be availabe in the store at all, I´m fine with the alliance motifs.

I have found all of the motifs I have in game, and want to find the remaining (rares) in game.

I don't want ZOS to make it easier for me to find them either. I think something in the game should be a challenge.

I'm a Maybe as well. On my main who is also my crafter, I know all the motifs except Barbaric, Primal, and Dwemer. Now I know where and how to find dwemer, and have sold quite a few of the pages, but I've only learned two pages myself (my dwemer bow looks pretty great) and haven't had much desire to use anything else.

I guess if I ever wanted Barbaric and Primal I might try to buy those, but it isn't a priority at the moment.

I must have farmed more than 100 motifs just prior to 1.6. I have sold a bunch and still have a bunch left. I used to find at least 3 or 4 day on most days, a slow day was two. Since 1.6 dropped, I have found one Purple motif and 4 Blues.

Even if I didn't have all the motifs already I would not buy them from the crown store. I would much rather pay a player for the motif they worked to get, than to spend real money on it. Is the reason I wont buy potions from the store either. Support the fellow player, they worked hard to get what they have. Well, generally lol!

I chose the "rare" option in the poll, but I would rather use in game currency and buy from a guild trader if I can. I am still trying to collect pages from the Dwemer book but it's proving somewhat difficult to obtain. Every time I go into the two or three ruins that my crafter has access to, it's always full of people. Last time I went in one, some jackass told me to get out because it was "their grind"

Which only shows their mental deficits. The pages are predominantly found in dwemer containers (jugs, pots, etc.), which are lootable for each player. Don't let them get at you.

I found all except staves. It may take some time, but it will come.

Crafting doesn't excite me, I don't have a single crafter that has all 9 traits and I farmed dwemer pages for guild without ever even eating 1 myself lol.

If something comes out that fantastical and I want it and can't find it.....I'm sure there will be a crafter willing to make me a set cheaper than the motif price, and no real money involved.

It is just opinions, not everyone is gonna agree with each other, there is a wilderness of opinions, but its just that...opinions.

Elitism is thinking you are better than everyone else and making other people feel terrible, hence my utter hatred for them.

If there is people, then there will be the full spectrum of human opinions, some extreme, some not so extreme, and some elitist, this thread does not quantify IMO as elitism.
