What is it that ZOS expects of a solo person when this type of damage is the new PvP?

  • nukeemstudiosub17_ESO
Well if we are going realism the damage is fine. However there is magic ride-able lizards and talking cats.
You want realism go play a sandbox MMO. The game has no fun left to it. My guild captured a keep without having to use a single skill from their skill bar. They shot down the doors used siege to kill the NPC's.
The PvP side of the game is not even fun like this. spent 5 hours in pvp never got into a real fight. All it was was a race to setup siege. I dont know how anyone finds this fun. Maybe people who had trouble killing anything before probably love it. This has destroyed the fun of PvP
If you wanted everyone to spread out you got it. Everyone is so spread out you might as well just make cyrodill small instance PvP.

    dont stand in the red
    .

that comment is a load of garbage.
we had our sneak speeds removed and we relly on stamina alone for 80% of all our actions as stamina nightblades. so when we are out of stamina and we ware also slowed down and in adsdition have about 5 balista red circles all around us it is completely imposible to escape that red circle.
and thats in both pvp and pve.

Doesnt work well at all. Some enemy tried using it and I still wasted them with one shot from a treb.

I think a lot of people are going to do something else. Like go and play a different game cause this one is hopless.

After every update people always post screenshots of them dying.

I played in Backwater Blade, i.e. a campaign where you have crap gear, crap passives, crap mitigation, crap skills, and while I noticed that siege weapons hurt, I did not have any death screens of the sort players are posting (for that matter, I haven't had the radiant destruction or whatever fotm stuff people are using).

Since I don't have purge, I used cloak (don;t listen to people who say this is useless), mutagen, and made sure I got out of any red circles. I mean this isn't a big mystery.

That being said, I do think siege weapons need to be toned down a bit.

avoid the red circles of humiliating death.

use dark cloak to get rid of those troublesome DOTs, and pray to sithis on an hourly basis.

Put more attribute points into health? Swap some stamina glyphs for health glyphs? Try a different armor set? There are other options, too.

dont even need to do that. just have dark cloak ready for use since this player is a NB

i think it was fine all night, i got one shot a few times in like 4 hours so, not so bad. it was my own fault for not watching my feet.

You probably have a pocket healer all night I'm guessing?

i never have a pocket healer and i envy those that do lol.

I don't. As a sorc I can't be tied down to any pocket healers.

    Hi there guys,

I'm a vamp mage with light armor and 25k life and fire treb hits for me between 24-29k (with DoT). Not too bad for beeing a vamp when I read what damage others have. First I thought the same thing as you guys "just dont stand in the red, easy". But it isnt! Sometimes when the lag is about to start, all textures (and enemies) load very slow and sometimes I cant even see red cycles or enemy players for a few secs. Thats enough time to die and not even know what hit you...sad story but happens quite some times. Or the other prob I have: only have 9k Stamina and I'm always blocking so I run out of Stamina real quick (sometimes I dont notice in big fights) and when standing in a red cycle now I cant rolldodge and die xD

End of story: its fine (and needed?!) to increase the damage of ballista but pleeeease not THAT much :D We want to fight more not die all day long. Look at GW2 PvP, the attacks dont hit that hard and the fights take longer...thats really nice dont you think?

But have to say: lag got better with the newest update. Thx for that and keep working on it!
    Please fix the game!

Let's try this differently. As an avid role-player, it ruins my immersion that we cannot simply set up 12 firepot trebs to 1-shot the serpent. That not realistic, etc, etc.

You stood in two AoE's at the same time.

Sometimes, the game calls for really fast reactions, and you sometimes get lucky enough to jump out of one red circle into another. Usually, though, quick reactions will save you from this sort of thing. Dodge Roll is really good in these circumstances.

Even as a stamina nightblade you should probably have dark cloak on your bar for two reasons: 1) it clears dots. 2) it makes you ignore meteor. Then there's always maintaining situational awareness and dodging out of the red circles.

This alone can make evading the red circle a lot easier...

That kind of damage seems about right for getting hit with a Ballista Bolt and a Comet.

Like cozmon said, don't stand in the red.

I'll adapt if this is going to be the new norm. But being one shot isn't fun no matter how you slice it.

    kinda fun to me.

everyone adjusted fairly well the past couple days.

seems more real and actually got more "oomph" to PvP now. just gotta learn to roll away.

    i like it.

PS: im VR13 blue/purple medium. my health is 14k. i got one-shotted easily by pretty much ANYTHING. just make sure i can burst when i need to, and think before running around in open (gankers) spaces or huddling with the zerg (sieges).

I feel it's slightly overkill- but far better than it was in 1.5 - Drop siege damage by like 5-10% and leave it be.

Don't know why, maybe it's because of lag, but "don't stand in red" not always works! Died multiple times from siege weapons when I was far away from red circle...

i have been hit by a few ballista so far, damage is high, but its usually been my own fault for standing like a obvious target.

i have one shot enemy players with a treb who were hiding on a Outpost wall in stealth.

i have managed to survive most head on encounters with only around 25k hp on the character i am currently PvPing on (Stam sorc).

if i really wanted to, i could easily build to be able to stand in seige as it is now and i have even seen people doing so. this one smart DK was laughing at a group of seige during one attack on a keep, he was standing on the ground in front of the wall segment we were attacking and his health bar was not dropping at all. it wasnt like he was exploiting either, cuz only one player who went down there to *** him off was able to kill him without much trouble.. if a guy like this was manning seige he would effectively be invincible.

    100% LTP..

now the vamp issue, well that skill line has effectively been god mode since release, i have experienced that myself and found the game boring as a result. I dropped it for PvE reasons because in endgame content the fire damage was too extreme at times (VET COA with Vamp tanks is not a good time). Right now because of the changes to the game overall the Balance of that skill line is down with most of its gains negated by its one weakness. that said you still have the Mist Form ability which should allow you to easily escape Seige fire mostly unharmed, even as a stam build. Just be mindful of red circles of doom.

They could town down on the Fire weakness over the stages, at this point 5% per Stage would be more a balanced. 20% fire damage extra is still pretty noticeable but you will have a bit more of a chance against it.

again tho. if you expect to be able to survive siege head on, you should really rethink how you play video games... Its like expecting to take rocket launchers to the face in COD and going on the forms to complain about it...
I play every class in every situation. I love them all.
