NBs and Invis Pots.....

The stealing concern is the main one i see being legitamized in this thread... but fear of a potion giving you a longer invisability then a class skill? That is slightly over reacting. The main use to stay in stealth for that long in pve is to by pass fights. So now all classes can do this but one class can continue after the potion wears off (spammimg cloak for the 10 seconds -15 seconds till the cool down resets). So yes you are still the king of stealth.

As pointed out this could very well be more of a nerf in pvp rather then a buff. By putting it on a longer cool down people who might use it can find themselves without resource for a while if they are revealed. While spme might us eit to eacape it still is risky to pull off due to the potion not getting rid of dots (pretty sure) and thus not as reliable as cloak.

Out of curiousity, how would you guys use 19 seconds of strait stealth if they got rid of the ability to use it to steal?

As a Nightblade Alchemist, think that potions should be modified to reveal the player if they are stealing in the same manner as Cloak does.
Take no issues with the duration (and cooldown) of the potion, as long as it breaks in all the same ways that Cloak does.

No, its not 45 secs but we DO have a limit on the amount of times we can go invisible and maintain it (plus its pretty labor intensive and risky). So after I have burned through my magicka bar I can either stop and wait or use a magicka pot. At this stage it would be MUCH easier to drink an invis pot.

If you burned through an entire magicka bar of cloaks and did not manage to get away because you got uncovered every time, chances are one more try to disappear through a potion won't help you either.
And you are taking specifically about PvP, I however am NOT (although I often do invisible away if the situation is looking grim)

I am talking primarily about a pot being able to allow everyone to steal free and clear while our ability reveals us? THAT is a load of crap. The duration however is also over the top and should be no more than a NB's skill imho.

PvE does not affect anyone but you, and you have to burn a potion for every single steal attempt(which means there is a cost involved). I don't see this as a big issue.

I don't usually try to use invis to escape a combat gone wrong. I use it to move past the enemy quickly w/o being seen. Otherwise I have to use slow stealth[/quote]

If you don't get the double standard then you are beyond reason. Either ALL invisibility breaks on steal or none should. (and you would only go invis for an item worth stealing)

I agree that for this special purpose, the potion is better than cloak. Not because of the invisibility length (i can chain cloaks for longer, even as a stamina build), but because you do not make a sound (cloak can be heard and someone might use a detect potion) and you can make the invisibility potion to boost your speed as well.

However this is a really specialized scenario with not much impact on overall game balance.

It is not a double standard when the cloak is free while the potion is not. However i do not really insist this should stay as it is, only that i don't think this is a major issue(let it be or change it, i do not really care either way)
