• PC/Mac: No maintenance – December 30

B2P (freemium) is gonna definitely destroy the game.

Look, let us see what happens and then in the summer we all come back here and speak about the experience. Then we again meet in the fall and see what happens. Then we meet in the winter and speak about whats happening. Then on march 17th, we should comeback and look at all that has happened in a year.

I always in my mind put everything at the zero mark. I never put the hype up to the 50 mark. I learned last year from many overhyped games that this is the worse thing that can happen. (although I never had overhyped those games).

For some maybe its best to think about the worse that can happen (putting everything in their mind on a negative mark) for the same reasons why I keep my thoughts at the neutral mark. To be prepared for the epic disappointment and already cope with the problem as it occurs.

I will be honest, once eso was announced B2P for me my zero mark went up to about 25/100.(from 0/100) I suspect my points to go up after Update 1.6.

Edit: If you wanted to know what would get me to the 100 mark? It will be at the 100/100 if this game is still alive and doing well 10 yrs from now. Also there are some things that I would like to see in the game. I plan to make a post soon about them.

We PC gamer's have to wake up. We are not the preferred player's anymore. Its all about console's now. Where mmo's used to be our domain,it just isn't so anymore. New Tech has changed that. This game is going to be the Wow mmo for the console player. I do feel sorry for you player's that have been here since beta. But we need to stop thinking that mmo's belong to PC gamer's. For me i'm glad i just started playing. Still only lvl 20 and taking my time exploring the world. You guys can complain or even quit. It won't change anything though. This game will sell millions on console's. The first real open world mmo for the console. Their are other so called mmo's on console's but nothing like this. This is going to change everything because other mmo companies will take notice.

Um, this isn't an open world MMO, don't get me wrong it's a great game, but in an open world MMO you don't have zones the way we do. It may be the closest that Consoles have had so far (not sure, so I'm going with "May be") but it isn't open world yet.

It's not about consoles. It's about greed and developers not willing to develop games anymore, instead pushing us to "play" e-shops thinly veiled as games.

Nothing wrong with B2P games, GW2 has done it from their release... granted they designed the game from start to be that type of game.

Nothing is B2W in that game except maybe trading money to gold but so easy to get top tier gear in that game the only thing useful for large amount of gold is a legendary weapon but that only gives a couple % bonus over the other types of gear... nothing to cry about.

Nothing is B2W so far with ESO model hopefully they keep it that way.

It's not PC gamer's that need to wake up, it's the games developers.
If you look at the price of laptops and gaming computers, they are coming down in price with new tech. While consoles are getting more expensive each version as they try to effectively become a PC.
Gaming PC's these days will absolutely wipe the floor with consoles plus I can watch a movie whilst doing it too, they are that powerful. Consoles are....just consoles, 1 thing at a time.

Somewhere along the way the developers lost sight of the long game and got caught up in the gold rush of micro-transactions.
The OLD subscription games with +10 years on them are still going strong, new F2P games come and go with nobody caring.
Being First is not the prize, it just mean's everyone can stab you in the back.

It's not open world. Progression is linear. We call these MMO's theme park because they lead you by the hand and show you where to go.

Open world MMO's are more sandbox type games. They don't have many set goals and you do what you want. They tend to be more player driven than developer.

Star Wars Galaxies is a good example of sandbox.

    This won't change anything.

It's a good game but it isn't ground breaking.

This game would of been dead within a year if it didn't go b2p, the subscription wasn't worth it, everything about this game was sub par quality, only the most hardcore tes fans where playing it, now its about to get opened up to a much larger audience, a lot more people are going to buy the game now and spend more money on this game then it ever would of gotten with a subscription and hopefully that will in return improve the game.

I would rather have a fremium game then a dead game, eso was already on life support within its first year, pretty much arrived a still born until this got announced.
