but a friend of mine who also mostly duels on his Sorc said he didn't feel it was a nerf when he played this morning.

I'll reserve judgement for when I test it. Not looking forward to it though.

I did not feel much of a nerf to Harness Magicka as it is on Live. It is basically the same amount of shield, but it does not grant the 50% dmg reduction to spells through multiple shields (there is no dmg reduction at all). I feel the big nerf is coming which is currently on testlive....

"Harness Magicka (Annulment morph): This ability can now only restore magicka up to three times per cast."

As some others have said this is to probably further fix the shield stacking. I'd imagine if you currently (on Live) stack it on top of Hardened Ward, you get magicka from spell absorbs so long as the combined shield lasts.

This is so wrong it's crazy. Bow is overrated, maybe good for PUGs I guess...
People think all NB use bows... honestly I hate the playstyle its soo cheap, I like to actually earn my kills.

Whats wrong about it? We all know NBs are good for either 1v1 or 1vx. Im not saying bows are good or bad just that some people dont want to hear about your build if it has a staff/sword shield, and light armor.

Bow is good for one thing ganking. You need a more versatile build out in cyrodiil.

I can agree w/ this sentiment.

Pretty much every time you mention NBs doing well at anything, someone will chime in about how if you aren't playing NB w/ DW / Bow in full medium, it doesn't matter because that's the "archetype" etc etc.

A lot of people (not I) feel that this is the way that NBs are "meant" to be played, and any NB who is successful outside of this very rigid playstyle is somehow "cheating".

You guys are all right... People at like "ohh its magicka and right it off" I have ATLEAST 3 more magicka NB builds that use different mechanics. example I have a new build im making that does a 1.1 DOT for 10 secs and its not a ultimate its basically a long range ganking/Debuff support build

Thanks @Araxleon, I've been playing bow stam for ever and your information is helpful to me as I've never touched my class abilities. I'll try my own style but your information is most helpful. I think if I were to ask of anything it would be to add clarity on "physical damage" and what weapons your equipped with to help other forum-goers understand how class-abilities, specifically the ones you talk about, and their interactions with physical/spell dmg/crit. Thanks again

Magicka builds are balanced across the board.

Class builds are pretty balanced. It's the classes that choose to use Weapon skills that are the underdog.

    1.5 Should help a bit.

Where did you find that Ambush and Impale deal physical damage? Because every tooltip I`ve seen so far says it deals magic damage and, the damage numbers indicate the same. I`m not really doubting your statement I`m just a bit confused.

We didn't find it anywhere, we tested it.

Try those skills against someone with heavy armor and you'll see less damage taken. There's 3 helpful ways to identify these skills:
    a) Is the unmorphed skill, melee? (<10m)
    a) Do they get the stealth dmg bonus?
    b) Do they crit with weapon crit?

The skills that fall in this category of spells that are mitigated by armor are:

    DK
    - Lava Whip
    - Searing Strike (initial strike, not the DoT)
    - Stone Fist

    Templar
    - Puncutring Strikes

    NB
    - Teleport Strike
    - Veiled Strike
    - Assassin's Blade
    - Death Stroke (although I believe, it stopped receiving stealth dmg bonus recently as it's an ult)

I know you're joking cat, but they are by far the most versatile class around:

    - Great mixture between ranged and melee abilities
    - Excellent single target PvE DPS, with some great healing utility to boot
    - Very good PvP AoE tanks
    - Best class for stealthed dmg/ rogue playstyle
    - Awesome duellists thanks to Fear, Impale and Soul Tether

Really, there's few things the class doesn't do well.

The only things that comes to my mind to counter this, is that their trades (more DPS for less tankiness for example) might be a bit more expensive as it is for other classes.

My NB is stuck on lvl 14 unfortunately, so I can't comment on that from personal experience.

However I see NBs do great DPS and tank fantastically well to boot. Not to mention that the ult generation (especially with combat frenzy II) can be so good, they're standing almost permanently in VoB.

Tell you what, since I see you're AD and Arena guild, throw a shout to Soulac or Desolator and go play with them for a while. See them do upwards of 1.5k DPS while tanking.

I'll call your bluff. There's no way anyone is pulling 1.5k DPS while tanking unless the fight is no longer than 10-15 seconds, and why the hell would ya need a tank for a fight like that anyways?

Their dmg scales purely from spell dmg & max magicka. However they are mitigated by Armor (not Spell Res) and they crit with Weapon Crit (not spell crit). And they are not spells because they bypass Harness Magicka (which absorbs spells), so the game doesn't see them as spells.

Basically they are spells, but they are not spells. I'm not sure what confuses you guys, this is so straightforward XD

There is a way to tank and pull over 1.5k Dps.
Sometimes I stand in the middle of an enemy raid, tanking all incoming dmg and deal around 2k Dps.

Maybe you missed something, I'm taking about PvP AoE Tanking. Not PvE, Heavy Armor, boss tanking.

The way NBs "tank" in PvP is using Sap Essence for heals while standing inside a VoB primarily. Potentially throwing Devouring Swarm or Soul Tether while still inside the VoB due to the fast ult generation the class has.

Tanking and doing 1,5k a sec is my fav thing <3 But yeah its possible. People forget that more damage = bigger shields since your increasing your overall power shields are based on that so sacrificing HP isnt really a weakness your really just trading HP for a stronger shield.

    2. I wouldn't call 2k AOE dps a lot, especially in PvP where you have huge blobs.

    Dude:
    1.5k / 6 = 250
So I just need to hit 6 guys with 250 Dmg AoE all the time.

1.5k isn't much.. I was able to hold up 3.1k Dps with my old batswarm build, but I didn't like it.
With my tank build I'm able to get around 1.9k Dps if I stand in an Enemy zerg.
In most fights it's like 1k cause we move a lot and my build isn't made for running around.
Btw you know there is a set called twin sister?
It's just increase my Dps to like 3k and more, but pssssst.

You don't even test things but yes I'm a liar ofc, cause NB are weak.. Trolololo

and yes its sustained. Is it easy to sustain no it isnt its really hard... But yes I can sustain 1.5k more or less for about 1min straight and I need about 10ish secs of recovery time to repeat the whole thing.

There is a way to tank and pull over 1.5k Dps.
Sometimes I stand in the middle of an enemy raid, tanking all incoming dmg and deal around 2k Dps.
    It's not that hard, rly.

Dude burst DPS is not your sustained DPS. When comparing DPS it's always sustained DPS. And no, you don't sustain 2k DPS, I can't and won't believe that your tanking and pulling more DPS than my NB without a video.

Trolololo

Soulac haha i can get 1.5k single target on a good day ;)
