I didn't care for verandis tbh. I hate people that should be bad guys but are actually tortured heroes. Believable, even likable bad guys are far more interesting.

they are still bad guys however. Within the frame of ESO, the bad guys are the people who oppose you. Most stories have a villain, even if that villain thinks she/he is the protagonist.
