Zenimax, do you have any plans of offering up a few free days of gametime to get these customers back?

Would be a sound plan that could also work hand in hand with the recent VR changes. The potential customers for a simple 2-3 days free for everyone that has purchased the game. Nothing to loose really.

lol of course not, if anything they should offer free days of gametime to those that actually stuck around, not those the flee at the first sign of things going bad.

Even though I understand you're feeling, such an offering would accomplish nothing good at all.
Bringing back former players is pretty important on the other hand. And all players who suffered through would benefit if the game would become more populated again.

We are talking about bringing in players to pay subs to further support the progression of the game, rewarding current subs will do nothing, and obviously they would get the free time also.

You can hardly call it a first sign of trouble.

If you rent a car and it suddenly only goes 1mph, do you give the rental company 3 weeks to resolve it?!

let me turn it around, if the offering of free game time is the only way of getting them back, they aint worth it in the first place, why those kind of people will always leave again, if things goes bad once more.

Im all for getting people back, they should come back because the love the game and things they left for are fixed, not just because they get a couple of free days.

and I dont need more free game time, its just if free time should be giving to anybody it should be those that subbed not the others that ran away.

Please don't feel insulted, but that is rubbish!

Players who canceled their subs were either disappointed or frustrated - for whatever reason. How would they know about fixed issues or why should they pay upfront money to test if things are actually better?
Free playtime is the best incentive to get them where ZOS wants them to be: ingame. Once there, it is much harder to decide against subbing, since the assumed possitive reaction will overwrite his/her former disappointment.

It's not about rewarding the right people, but about business. They already have the active subscriber's money, after all.

    Im not getting insulted.

You have your opinion, I have mine.

I dont try to move yours, most people on the web, if they have an opinion they rarely change it. So im not trying to convince you otherwise.

My believes are simple, dont reward the people that dont do anything to the game, those that ran. While those that are back, trying to fix the game, shouldn't be rewarded either. They just get a better game, thats a reward enough for me.

Do you think or did you think that maybe that all the Un-Subbing might have caused ZOS to actually light a fire under someone butt to fix it fast? I noticed this patch was push really early AM in the US so someone most likely was working over time to figure it out. In case you haven't noticed the Sub rates are WAY down since launch so they can't afford to lose many more before their bottom dollar gets effected.

I think this is an excellent idea and has merits both business wise and for the general health of the game.

I'm not too worried about game time for myself but for those who have cancelled their subs, it makes sense to try and get them back into the game.

I pay to play and to enjoy myself. When they patch something that BREAKS the game for PvP, which is what I want to do, and I suffer with it for 2+ weeks while waiting patiently for the fix I am supposed to STFU and just play PvE? What a complete ass you are with this. They broke something that was working and they broke it to the point that it was down right frustrating to even think about playing the game. I did un sub and I am not sure if I want to re-sub. I still have 4 days left to decide.

Now for all you FAN boys, I get the bugs and I get the takes time and I can live with that we are not talking a couple of days we are talking about 2+ weeks of it and with another holiday where they screw something up. Now you might think people like me are not important and don't let the door hit you on the way out, the issue will bite you once they have to start laying off support staff and the fixes don't roll in as fast and the content adding is a lot less and one day the lights go out! I want to enjoy my time with the game, not fight stupid game breaking bugs that cause so much frustrations it less painful to pull my teeth out with pliers. If it was just 1 quest I could find other things and still have fun, but this was WAY beyond that level.

are we talking about the first sign two weeks ago?..or the first sign after that with the exploited bugs..or maybe you mean the first sign a week after the first sign with the first sign patch..that wasn't fixed until this week.

Free game time would be nice but hey a fix is better. I am not going to scream about not getting free game time.

But free game time MIGHT bring back players who left to try it again and yes I have seen where they rebooted a game and invited everyone back to try it again to see they fixed the issues and that it is worth paying for. Just saying I ain't going to cry if they don't.
  • MichaelShimmel
I have a few friends that if all things are fixed giving some free time to may cause them to get back in game. They really did enjoy the game, some until they hit vet5 and felt it was a grind and did not like the AOE farm option, others was the lag fest in PvP. I can not say for sure as I have not been on more than 30min in the last few days but if those issues are fixed or getting better, some free game time could be all that is needed to get them back in game and subscribing again.

Everyone who loves PvP is frustrated. Luckily the majority don't take their rage to the forums. Their is a minority group that loves drama.

I don't need to go through all that, an easier way is just hit the un-sub button and viola one less paying customer. Eventually even you thick headed fellows will learn there is complaining and then there is OH [snip] they really broke something and screwed the pooch and better fix it!

and hey stop with the personal attacks, you have actually proven my point with this

If i rent a movie and it doesnt work i would want my money back, not that im asking for money here im simply saying for me and many others 2-3 weeks of being unable to play is unacceptable and we should be compensated.
I enjoy the game at times and some free game time to wash away the bad feeling i have from 2-3 weeks of an unplayable game might make me want to sub again, how hard is that to understand.
What personal attacks ? and proven what point ? i am unhappy with being unable to play for 2-3 weeks due to no fault of my own, a fault with zenimax, u claiming everything is fine and the people that have left are some sort of bad apple is ridiculous.

A window of free time to let people who unsubbed test the game is a smart business move, bottom line. If you think otherwise, go ahead and (insert an incredibly offensive personal attack).

Those people are done and aren't coming back until they see for themselves that the literally game-breaking FPS problem is fixed. If they see the proof on their machines, they will pay to play again.

I unsubbed myself and until the members of my guild feel comfortable returning, ESO is not getting my commitment. On the reverse, I'm happy to commit to a game that my guildmembers can actually play. I'd like that to be ESO.

Really, you think because they broke the game and I finally started to say something about it, and maybe enlighten them that they may have a bigger issue, and when that didn't work I un-sub and sent an email telling them this FPS issue is the reason for it I should delete my toon as this is the best way to get "even" with them. I am not trying to get EVEN with them I am trying to get them to FIX it so I can play also without resorting to all the crazy crap I have been doing for 2 weeks.

Pvp is far from being fixed. Exploits and cheating abound with no regulation from ZOS, class balances are not complete, broken mechanics are destroying play (i.e. Intensify), and small group/solo is nearly dead due to camps being op.

My unsub is a result of cheaters going unpunished and less about graphics.

Edit: unsub does not mean inactive. With 3 months left of game time, I am going to take a short break and monitor how ZOS deals with these issues.

Do you feel only the posters on these forum are the frustrated ones? Safe to say everyone who loves PvP is frustrated. Nothing wrong with that. Nothing wrong with writing a post how frustrated you are. Does it help to throw ultimatums or threats at Dev? They know exactly what is going on and have worked to address it. Not as fast as some people would have liked but that is the reality.

I know quite a few folks who just went and played another game. Almost like before ESO even made it to their hard drive. Crazy I know.

And yes, it is awesome I don't have to rage over 'wasting' $8.

A game breaking bug made pvp unplayable for a very large number of players, who are now rightfully demanding they be compensated for the lost playtime. This is totally normal, and expected. You may not like when people complain, but that does not mean they are wrong to complain, because...well, the world does not revolve around you.

Did you miss the part I said I want them to fix it so I CAN PLAY? You're not funny and you're not winning an argument here. Un-subbing means I can still play but it means that unless they FIX the issue I won't be paying for another month. Trivial crap like this spell is OP or this quest if broken is understandable as it is a new game or even new content, breaking it a significant part of the game to where you can only play until whatever is causing the issue causes it to force a re-start is NOT trivial. If it was a restart and hour I could live with that but sometimes it's 30 seconds of play time before 2 fps. Not owning up to it and not making it #1 Priority to fix is not trivial matter and un-subbing shows them they are going to lose money so they BETTER put some resources into solving it PRONTO and this was after almost 2 weeks of waiting for the fix before I started complaining about it. I didn't quit quakedawg I sent a message to them and if it is fix I will be in Cyrodil playing to have fun, not to restart the freakin game every few minutes. Jeez by now one would think you would have gotten the point. I am not asking for everything to be perfect I am asking for them to fix a major part of the game that was working that they broke and left if broke for 2 weeks.

Not trying to win an argument dude. Nobody does that on the internet. I hope they do give you free game time if you plan to re-sub. I've walked in Dev's shoes and understand what they are going through. If it makes you feel better, they are working their ass off to give players the best game experience possible.

See you in Cyrodiil (no sarcasm!)
