"no marked safe Zones in Cyrodiil"

Tega_

2 Days ago i was killed by what i reported as an exploiter...
He killed me right at the Wayshrine in the Cyrodiil starter Area.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_RwhQjdZ-zI

I was under the (false?) Impression that this Area is "safe" and no enemy player can get there by legal means......

Guess i was wrong, since this is the response i got after reporting the Player as an Xploiter:

Hey Michael

Our PvP zones do not have marked safe zones. Player should always be on the look out for the enemy as it is possible to be attacked from everywhere :)

Thank you for your continued interest and support!

Warm Regards,

Mark

The "starter zone" or more to point the area you zone into that's behind the main keep walls is safe to a point. It's the farthest are away from either Faction to have to tear down the defenses and is the easiest for said Faction to rebuild. I kind of see value in both arguments. On one side if an opposing Faction actually does well enough to push your Faction back to the brink so-to-speak then anything is fair game. On the other side of the coin, players just zoning into Cyro shouldn't be insta-jibbed before their screen even loads due to the failure of any players that were already there to defend said keep.

There are however ways to get there that are 100% exploits and ZoS has been dealing with it.

Well I know if you get pulled up by someone or try jumping up to the other factions starter area, you will get auto sent back to your starting area. Not sure how he made it up top with out this reset, but I smell something fishy... Report it in game as a /bug or an exploit as its not intended other players get inside that area.

Kind of a jerk move, but hey I absolutely agree with the support letter. There are guards in those area too.

So I am reading this correctly - you can get ganked upon immediately entering the starter/tutorial area? Thats certainly an encouragement for non-PvPs to try to get into the campaigns. The couple of times I tried the tutorial its been insta-frustration because of lag and other stuff; maybe I will just never try now.

well point is i DID report it....under the impression that it is not intended for players to go there, but look again at the response i got.

    very bad for the game.....

Reply to them and ask them...

"Is it your intent to allow these areas to be PvP zones? Will I be allowed to enter these starter zones and farm other players as this player has done?"

Keep asking till you get a rational answer. Some of the initial replies can be a little...bizarre.. sometimes and you have to reply to get a more relevant response.

He probably got his buddy to chain him up.

From what I saw, Southern High Rock can be accessed by non-DC player who jumps on sort of ledge above doors from adjectant rock and then further up/inwards (like through gate wall).
    I also bugged this.

Kind of a jerk move, but hey I absolutely agree with the support letter. There are guards in those area too.

I do not. There are several reasons:
    1) Guards, while powerful, can be subdued by numbers.
    2) Guards can break down and then do not attack enemies. Actually guards that break down most often are exactly those on gates in home territory.
    3) As stated above, feature arises from combination of geography (=not equal for all factions) and what I would not call legitimate movement.
    4) Most importantly, feature has potential for one faction to lock out another from Cyrodiil entirely, especially on less populated campaigns and during off hours, as you can't help it but use one of only two entry points.

I ran past the (already open) gate a couple of times, and then you can get very close to the teleport area, however i never got too close afraid of guards.

During testing the areas were accessible by mounted jumping up on the walls(the walls used to be a lot shorter) we reported it after greeting ppl zoning in with a few spells tee hee. It was a quick laugh but I definitely reported it AND the walls were built up so we could no longer do that.

I'm assuming they built those walls to prevent that sort of thing so I'm confused as to why their stance has changed since testing.

When some wild-eyed, eight-foot-tall maniac grabs your neck, taps the back of your favorite head up against the barroom wall, and he looks you crooked in the eye and he asks you if ya paid your dues, you just stare that big sucker right back in the eye, and you remember what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like that: "Have ya paid your dues, Jack?" "Yessir, the check is in the mail."

No, actually you can't. If this really has happened, then it is due to an exploit (teleporthack or something else) which won't happen very often. This is the first time I hear of it and I'm in the forums every day and in Cyrodiil too.

The answer of the support team member shows that he didn't understood what was reported to him or that he is really incompetent. I would go with "he didn't understand", because support usually gets hundreds of tickets a day from people being killed in pvp (in a correct way) who presume their enemies exploited. So the support team member may have not given his full attention to this and just send out a standard answer.

    - Zenimax implements more bugs from patch to patch
    - Zenimax does not care about the increasing instability of the game. People have more and more crashes Fix of memory bug decreased number of crashes considerably
    - Zenimax has still not fully fixed the fps drops they (!) implemented with patch1.2.3
    - Zenimax does nothing to fix the massive ability lags in PvP
    - Zenimax gives more attention to unnecassary 'content' like dyes for armors than fixing issues
    - In patchnotes Zenimax lies about bugs allegedly fixed
    - Zenimax has no plan as to how balance population in Cyrodiil campaigns
    - Support is ineffective and does not even speak in a way one can linguistically understand

    Bases are safe.
Tutorial area (siege firing range) is outside base and in case gate is open it's perfectly legal for enemy player to be there. Also, part of the training is to see Elder Scroll, and this - by definition - happens on the main objective of the whole game!

Edit: NVM, I saw the video and this was disgusting exploit.

That fills me with hope for when we see actual hackers/cheaters in game.

This was something that was possible on the first weekend beta test of Cyrodiil. It was still possible a week before launch on the PTS on version 1.0. It was reported. I am disappointed to see it's still possible to make it to an enemy way shrine.

You should reply back to that guy to escalate the ticket because he didn't get what you were describing. Given we couldn't see what you originally wrote to tell if he just didn't read or if it was an unclear description but either way a request for escalation will give you the chance to clarify the issue. I'd also let them know you have video and offer it.

Unsub because 1 dude had his alt chain pull him over the wall?

ZOS can't do anything to that guy w/o footage showing the chain pull.

Chain pulling has been a well know exploit that has been reported multiple times by multiple ppl..Its a pebble in a landslide of sploits and bugs ZOS seems to be ignoring or they simply cant dig out of.

Nope. Because it's obviouos that Zenimax customer support is totally useless and they gave up on policing the game at all.
I reported similar things several times and they did not bother to reply. But this case is much worse, they told him to GTFO.

Interesting.... Indeed I have tested that if you go into a starter zone it does teleport you out nonetheless there may be other ways around this alas...

The response you see listed is a presorted autoreply. They have some "mad lib" auto reply system that can give some really strange and off base replies. I have encountered them myself. You basically have to reply to the auto reply and then you will get a person.

This is not ZOS's intent, this is just a failure of the auto reply system.

While they may not yet have the ability to respond to everything I think we can see in every patch note their earnest intent on responding to all of our reported issues. I have not seen anything near that level of intent elsewhere.
