New ultimate stacking

Veil of Blades is overrated. Seriously. Ever since some trial monkeys decided nightblades with that specific morph were "useful" because they were able to go from 900 to 1000 sustained DPS with the thing, everyone FOTM to it. The fact is the real prize is the damage reduction. That being said...

Bolstering has always been the superior morph, nightblades do not need to waste an ultimate slot on a modicum of AOE DPS when they can generate plenty via other methods. And here is the kicker, Bolstering also has the damage reduction, since thats the original skill itself. It was either a little extra damage, or a big HoT synergy.

But of course people always chase those damage numbers, totally forget this amazing thing called healing. Healing and damage mitigation wins PvP fights btw, in case you didnt know before.

Addendum: if youre trying to PvP with "sustained dps" builds, youre really screwing up. Burst is everything. Any healer worth his salt can HoT for 2-4x more than any DPSer can DoT, its just that simple. In fact, ive seen my Templar hit peaks of 16k HPS. No one can get DPS that high, even in a spike. So essentially a strong dedicated healer completely negates the DPS of say four or five dedicated AOE spammers.

@Rylana, I'm lost as to your Templar hitting peaks of 16k HPS. Looked at the link and saw an Atronach with 16k HP left and minimal heals going through from your side. I would love to be able to emulate 16k HPS even for a spike, such as a flag with oil and opposition or to counter ultimate stacking.

What the screenshot doesnt show is what had happened about 3 seconds before. The AA had hit everyone with that big AOE and nearly wiped out the entire team, seriously no one had more than maybe 10% of a healthbar. I popped my healing ultimate and blam, everyone full, it spit out that number, i was like WHAT THE HELL DID I DO, printscreen.

Since then ive had clutch moments in vet dungeons and the like where ive seen 4k+ with four people grouped, etc. Basically that healing ultimate + having AoE heals already down, can add up to about 1500-2000 HPS per person (up to the cap, i reckon), which as stated in my above post, is more than any DPSer can sustain. Also other templars will know that healing regenerates ultimate so fast that you can basically pop the practiced incantation about once every 8-10 seconds (or less) in very heavy damage.

Basically if you assume everyone in the team had 2000 HP, say they got dropped to 200. Thats 1800x12 = 21600 damage I healed in less than two seconds (the time it took me to pop the ultimate, realize something insane had just happened, and hit my printscreen)

To address what you said about flags and oil, thats actually something I do in PvP. I hit cleanse, springs, and then my ultimate in that order as soon as I get on top of the flag. For those 6 seconds, oil or not, my team is effectively immortal. And as luck would have it, thats usually about how long a burst will last. (especially now that I cant be knocked down or otherwise CCed while the channel is active)

Doesnt always work, but its one of those things... it totally depends on how many other healers are in my group, how much raw DPS they have (a 10 on 1 scenario obviously isnt going to work)

Thats with my current stats. So thats 530 HPS per person for six seconds. Cast that after putting down your other HoTs and you can see how its completely possible with enough allies in the circle. (notice in the screenshot it was saying x10 and the like, that means it was healing 10 people at the time that tick went up, so thats actually a heal of 2670 in that half second)

Inb4 people start carrying around two templars with this ultimate for "oilflag busting"

Lol this doesn't need nerfing... It's too impractical,lacks reliability/ sustain and no player with half a brain would die from this combination.
The player would have to stand inside their VoB... the enemy could just take a few steps back and admire their stupidity.

Never killed a player in pvp with veil of blades cause of the small range, only 6 meters, like talons now, and it doesn t root you, so u can easy get out of it, if you are smart enought. It is usefull only in pve or certain zerg close building situations.

And also if any nerf is needed, nerf vampire, not the actual main class.
